I am have a few issues with this ROM:
1). The touch screen keyboard won't move out of the way! It is VERY annoying!
2). There is no Task Manager on the top bar anymore. It's impossible to tell what's running or switch between running applications. I tried installing a cab that had the HTC Taskbar in it but it didn't work.

Ideas?

I have the same keyboard issue - although I've found if you just tap elsewhere on the screen, it usually goes away. I would like to use the keyboard button though.

For a task manager, I just use the one located in Start->Settings->System. Not ideal by any means, but it gets the job done for closing background apps. You could also try eNatives Showcase 1.1.0 out for a task manager.

If you're using 6.5.3, then you should know that the task manager from HTC does not interface properly with these new builds. What I did was modify the program to remove the drop down in the top right corner so it doesn't also cover up the clock (which isn't removable). You can still navigate to Settings>System>Task Manager and close apps this way.

As far as the keyboard, this is just a skinning issue by most of the newer builds. To close the onscreen keyboard, you need to tap just slightly to the left of the button to get it to close. Annoyng I know but you're stuck with it.

Otherwise, there's always good ole' 21876 to go back to!

I look forward to trying out this kitchen on my extra long weekend. I am still looking for the perfect 6.5.1 or 6.5.3 ROM. Your kitchen looks easy to use so I'll give it a shot and see if I can finally build something that meets my needs.

I can tell you that 6.5.3 is not perfect and has quite a few quirks to it. Unfortunately it seems that the newer 6.5.1 has incorporated these quirks as well. Things like screen not switching back to portrait from the text message screen, MMS not working without tweaks, the keyboard button skin being off and hard to press correctly, etc.

I found this in the SSK thread that may help with the rotation issue on text message screen:
I don't use MMS because I rely 100% on a google voice number so that doesn't bother me. I just really want a fairly stable ROM that has the easier buttons on the bottom and both clock and battery in taskbar.

One other thing I've noticed... When the phone switched to landscape, it takes forever to switch back to portrait, if it does at all.

Other than the issues I've mentioned in this and another post, this is the best rom I've used so far. The battery seems to last much longer also!

Question does this Kitchen & Rom intergrate XDA_UC and UC? I like having a very bare bone ROM and adding CAB file for installation after the boot.

Any chance we could get an EXT package for Manila Sense 2.5?

I'm running this ROM i made in your kitchen, and it runs fairly great, better than most I've flashed to previously, this is just due to the fact that i picked what i wanted in here and also the fact that i don't really like color customization of folders and changing HTC green to blue is overkill, and i actually think green is my favourite colour

Running 28002 with Sense 2.1.1920.2517. Running wonderful besides the virtual keyboard getting in the way. Just like E-Rice said tapping to the left of the icon will close it.

Now I'm wondering if someone in the community can reskin the bottom taskbar to reflect this button or will Microsoft incorporate it in a later build.

I seem to be getting this message only for build 21876. I've reinstalled and haven't added or subtracted anything. 28002 works perfectly fine. Anybody else getting this?

am i missing something with this 28002 build in the today settings any of the themes i choose does not change the top or bottom menu bars......any ideas?

I had the same issue. In the kitchen check Applications/Additional themes, the 'files' folder isn't checked by default. I checked it and re-flashed and it did the trick.

Thanks worked perfectly. And going by your help i decided to go through the whole list and confirm the files folders etc were checked and a few weren't so i went further. I have been having the same issues as other building a 21876 rom, i went down to the "SYS" & "ROM" checks and made sure that 21876 was checked and it isnt by default so i checked them both and hey presto it just built for me......

hopefully that helps others.

Did you check the carrier option for Sprint? Somethings definitely not being included. Also, is CM_Guardian not included?

When rotastrain from xda-devs finishes and uploads Sense UI 2.5 with landscape support, I'll incorporate it into the kitchen. Any other versions I won't support. Calkulin provides packages in his kitchen if you'd like to use those, but for now I'm only working with 2.1.

Trying out 21876 and below manila and above the phone/camera buttons I have a line that shows programs running in the background (just in that small space), so if I have IE opened and goto the home screen, I can see it behind there. Very odd, did a hard reset, still there. Any way to remove that? ROM working great besides that.

If I have cabs I want cooked into the rom, is there a program that takes cabs to files like in the kitchen?

Take a look at the instructions in the first post. It seems like you'll have to work backwards through the conversion process...

cab -> oem -> ext

Then you should be able to add your cabs (as ext's) into the mix.

I had trouble with what was included in the rom.... so i got this from DomSim and it saved me.

Try this: Drag cabs to the EXE that says cabtonewkitchen and make sure the cab name doesn thave any spaces in it.
