once you buy the unlocker, you can then use gsm networks while in north america. the sprint tp2 is unlocked for world use, but locked in the states. if you do this, make sure to keep your current phone, because if you get a replacement phone, you're going to have to buy the sim unlocker again.

I have a Sprint Touch Pro 2 flashed to Metro PCS using the latest MightyROM Flash..My question is what do I need to do to make the Sim Card works with my AT&T Line..I might go to areas where Metro is not available and AT&T is..appreciated any responses and help.Newby here..

how do I determine if I am already unlocked? When I bought the phone used the guy I got it from said the sim was already unlocked and showed me this on the screen (can not remember how he got their and its running 6.5 now 6.1 when he showed me)

IE how do I know if I NEED the unlocker?

ahh WF - so why exactly do we need to PAY someone to unlock this? why is there no free option or can I get sprint to do it?

Simple, the WU unlock allows you to use other US carrier simcard (AT&T, T-Mobile, etc). Sprint will never unlock your phone so you can use it on another US carrier.

That said, the phone is already unlocked for international usage so if you don't need to use it with a simcard from a US carrier then you don't need to SIM unlock it.

Well sprint really should not have a say in the matter (but thats another topic)

why is there no way for me to unlock it myself? why do I have to pay someone to do this? its not so much the price as the concept of having to pay a single entity to do something anyone should be able to do. IE why is there no free path to do this?
