Anyone with sprint in the LA area have any info on these radios? Been trying some out, most seem to perform the same, wanna know if anyones been testing any of them extensively.

Dumb question, but do these new radios perform any better than the stock? I realize they allow you to connect to US GSM networks. Are the US GSM networks faster than CDMA? I'm on Verizon in Greenville, SC btw.

hey mayonesa, I had read from other threads that the GPS settings will drain your battery, so that might have something to do with the radio, dunno.

I for one am having problems with battery drain when the GPS goes wacky. I am using iGo8, apparently, any gps program that uses the com port like iGo8 will drain the battery. These Nav programs that use the com port are having problems with GPS lag. Google Maps on the other hand doesn't use the com port, and won't drain your battery, or have GPS lag. you can read about that in other threads.

i went back to the USC. i dont use any GPS apps really... just for the weather i guess when i manually update it but other than that nothing else.


for now i guess i will stay with this radio till something else comes out.

ive had good luck with the vzw 1.88.07 radio in the new york area. tried the USC radio but got a bit better reception with the vzw radio

Hey guys, I have the USC radio. Will VZW work on my phone? I am using FIDO GSM part on my TELUS CDMA TP2

I tried the WU and it bricked my phone. So it seems WV only works on it.

So will VZW work on my phone? as I am reading through the posts, it seems 1.88.07 is the best out there now?

If the phone is a CDMA Telus Touch Pro2, then yes the VZW will work, as will the rest of them. I'm on VZW and currently using the Sprint 1.96 radio because it seems to work best in my location. I had similar results with the VZW 1.88.07 radio too. Just make sure your phone is HardSPL unlocked.

I'm on sprint 1.40.00wf and I have to say this is the best radio other than the original stock sprint radio. Every other radio would make my TP2 act crazy (turn off the radio after sending txt, random signal loss).

This is on my 2nd TP2, did the same on my first TP2...
Juggalo said somethin about CID when I had asked, maybe it just needs to be ran through NBH util? lol ill check in a few mins, im goin to the store to get dutches...

or maybe he meant you need a full (SIM) unlock (which also unlocks CID i think right?) idk brb

oh yea and flashing through SD bricks like the whitestone radios... white screen, gotta reflash a diff radio to fix...

yea so it has nothin to do with nbhutil everything is fine in it, can the users that have the radio working verify if they SIM unlocked also?

I didn't think I had to unlock my SIM, but apparently I did! Yeah, unlocked flashed from my SD Card. Extract the RUU_signed.nbh file with pocketrar. :)

Hey Everyone I need help but first let me tell you what I got...

I have 4 phones on the same service but my TP2 is having trouble get bars in my house when the others phones on the same service is fine. I have tried every radio on the list and I get the same results...strong signal outside my house and everywhere else even in my work place with metal all around. but low to none in the house. I hear people just fine but they have trouble hearing me.

I also have a diamond flashed using a verizon radio and its strong with no problems, But my new TP2 is embarrassing me. I'm current on the US Cellular 2.05WV so is there in settings in EPST that would help me or are there things in the house that is blocking my signal?

Try changing your ACCOLC setting to 0 as welll as your Slot Cycle Index (these can be found in the CDMA and Modem portion of your EPST... lol might be different i just dont feel like checking)

Hello, Ive just got one of only 3 TP2 From uscc the other day at our local store and it has 2.18.00WU Radio, should I just keep that and is there a way to extract it for others?

I am still having this issue with my phone. I've tried every radio and changed to different PRL's and still can't get a signal. Its not the service because my other phones work fine.

Theres gotta b someting to fix this or I have a bad phone...but I get a strong signal everywhere else except home.
Maybe the setting I have in the EPST for cricket is not good for the TP2. Is there a post of the EPST setting?

flash it compleatly to stock and start over.... it very well may be the phone itself... hardware issue or just the tp2 is not very good at picking up signals like your other phones.

from what i have seen you have to be SIM/security unlocked for that one...

well jugalo x seams to be busy, think im going to unlock my phone, since my radio is already gps enabled i can leave it right? want to make sure im not going to have to down grade my radio to put another rom on.

you dont have to do anything ot the radio in order to flash a rom... just dont flash any of the radios here and you will be fine.

has anyone else had an issue with the SPCS 1.40 radio and it not letting any calls or txts through? i unlocked my phone and installed 1.40, but i noticed i wasn't getting any calls so i switched back to the stock SPCS 1.96 and now all those calls/txts i missed instantly showed up. with the 1.40 radio, anyone who called me could not get through and would go to voice mail (which is the only way i could tell they had called since i only got the voicemail from them) any ideas how to fix that?

Your phone MUST be CID unlocked [for 1.40 to flash]... Which is done by doing a SIM unlock through CMONEX/OliPro ... I dont think it will work by simply getting the unlock code from your carrier though... Idk can someone clarify if it will work that way? I dont feel like paying 18 bucks for a SIM code my carrier cant deny me (at least in the US idk about Canada). It is illegal in fact for them not to give it up (and its free)

Same thing happened to me. You can call out just fine but my phone never rang, never got a text and couldn't text out, and never got a voicemail notification. Was running EnergyROM at the time. Phone was unlocked using the unlocker.
