I've re-downloaded and extracted the archive; and I've tried this on 2 other laptops, a Windows Server 2003 Enterprise box; and on my gaming system. The errors are all 100% identical.

Found out what it was: When extracting (in my case, with WinRAR), the original archive has translated spacing (ie, "%20") in the folder name. The ROMUpdateUtility.exe can't handle folders with this naming convention. When I'd click "Extract here <internal archive folder name>" the %20 would be carried into the folder created. But when I used "Extract Here" and let WinRAR dump the files into the same folder the the archive was in, it ran perfectly. So I changed the extracted folder name to remove the %20 vars, and it then ran in that folder where it previously didn't.

yeah after all my searching i finally found out its called the htc messaging client but nrg doesnt include it in his rom. the reason he doesnt iclude it im assuming is because you can receive mms but cant send mms. i have found a fix that works for me with htc messaging client. i use smms to send mms and that fixes the problem.

What rom are you using? That does not look like EnergyRom at all.

Can you link me up? I would like that messaging. I dont care about mms as i dont use it at all.

I wish I could get the white flip clock to work on Photon... but I think the "invisible flip clock tabs" look cool too (from another thread, where they call them "transparent flip clock tabs, but they are really invisible, since you don't even see the outline now compared to the transparent ones that come with Photon Nov 9 release):


The "fix" is just 4 manila files you put in the windows folder, they don't overwrite anything so you can just delete them if you want to go back to what Photon comes with.

correct, i usually use 230xx builds and nrg said he was going to use 23504 build. he said 23504 was much better and while he was in the process of building his rom and going through the trial and process errors, i decided to try a 23506 build while i waited and guess what i saw that messaging.

Just do the provisioning once. The next time it shows up hit skip. Then using file explorer go to windows/startup and delete the file called provisioning. And then you're all set!

Any other goodies of note in 23506? Too bad MMS doesn't work with that newer HTC messaging program, it does look really nice. Hopefully, they come out with a fix for it.
