well, when you're having a very active SMS "conversation" with someone, it may be more typical to send a new text every 20 secs and also receive a new one every 20 secs, which means 6 texts/min. So 700-1000/day is "only" about 2-3 hours, which is not impossible at all...

I remember seeing that reg edit too! Since I'm a noob, I used "search this thread" right at the top of this screen, and searched for "close program." Guess what? The very first result (after your post) was post #7439 which had a link to what you want!

Sorry I don't know how to link directly to the post, but if you go to #7439, I think you will be good to go. Be sure to thank the person who posted there!

Thanks for the response but it was a single reg edit not an additional program to install.......Anybody else seen it????

I agree. thats still a crazy amount of text to send during the day. but it you slow it down even more to only 1 text sent or recieved every minute for 10 hours during the day. Thats 60 texts an hour and 600 a day. So 700-1000 is definately possible.

Hopefully you had unlimited text. haha:-s

Re: ░░░░ MightyROM.com ░░░░ Windows Phone® ░░░░ Update Available!

Just thought I'd throw my experience in here.

Last night, my phone (Stock VZW ROM, WinMo 6.1) decided to take a dump and not let me do anything because it kept thinking it was trying to do work pulling a Yahoo email.

Anyway, since I was getting pissed at it, I figured that I might as well flash it (I had already had it unlocked for a couple of months).

I downloaded MightyROM_RhodiumW_052410 and installed it. Upon reboot of the thing and full recovery of my contacts, etc...I tried to go to *228, 2 and do a PRL Update. PRL Update failed, saying it couldn't update my phone. I tried again and did a *228, 1 and got the same message. Reboot phone, and repeat procedures, this time doing *228, 1 first. No dice.

I did a little research on the forums here, and learned about the VZW Provisioning Cab (even though it was my understanding that the ROM auto-provisions). Before doing anything, I tested voice and text and data...all 3 worked, even though I couldn't *228. I finally found the Provisioning section of the ROM, and saw that it said Telus. I changed it to Verizon and hit "Commit" and the phone rebooted. After reboot, I tried *228 again, and again it failed.

I called it a night since it was getting late. I went in to work this morning, and did a bit more research on it, hoping to fix it. I discovered somebody saying to try ##RTN#. Tried that, and it failed. I then tried *228, 1 again, and this time it successfully programmed! I have no idea why or how though, as my signal strength at home is 4-5 bars, and I am lucky to get 1 bar at work.

Any clues as to why this happened?

I didn't say impossible- I realize it's possible to do it. But are we really expected to believe there were not just one, but two people who did *nothing* but type texts back and forth for hours each day every day?

It's not the sheer number, but more the sheer number PLUS the consistency that makes me believe somebody is exaggerating a bit.

Maybe I'm wrong, though, and some people have that kind of time and commitment.

Not to be an a$$, but who really cares if this person is exaggerating or not. I am tired of wasting my time reading thru posts that are meaningless.

Sorry, I think I am having a bad day!
