Not sure why the mail would come back if deleted from mail tab. I know this is probably a hassle, and not the quick way you're looking for, but what happens when you 'empty deleted items' from tools menu in the IMAP account?

Sorry I couldn't help further!!!!

Good suggestion, and not the easiest way to do it, but unfortunately, they still come back. They're zombie emails.....

Looks like I'll just have to do it the hard way. MightyMike, I'm suggesting this for a fix on your next release of an otherwise great ROM!

Thanks for your help!

As far as cleaning it up, you mean delete everything? I've got almost everyting marked as read, but I have 1000's of messages on there and never had this issue before.

Thanks.

Are they all sitting in your Inbox or do you have them archived in another folder, what I did was archive my mail into a sub folder so I only have a few e-mails in my inbox and that made things a lot better and not having any issues now.

Can't seem to recreate whats happening to you bud...I tried deleting an email then waiting a bit to send/receive and I don't get the email again...so its quite strange...do you have it set up as an exchange server??

Also when you delete an email from your TP2 Inbox...try clicking the Inbox arrow at the top left and when the drop down comes up you should see your Gmail Folders (Sent, Drafts, etc..) there should be a Deleted Items folder there as well...click on it and delete the emails in there...its kinda a pain but maybe it will work...

I will try this when I get home. Thanks!

I apologize, but I don't know if it's setup as an exchange server or not. I don't believe so. The messages don't run thru any servers that I know of, just straight from Gmail to TP2.

I tried 'delete all' from the Deleted Items folder under the Inbox dropdown menu and they still came back. The only way for me to delete a message from my phone is to open the message and delete it from there.

I sincerely appreciate the help guys.

Is MIcrosoft MyPhone backing them up then restoring them by chance?

Also, I noticed that after I set up gmail on my phone I had a new folder on my gmail web page called "deleted items" in addition to my regular "trash folder.

Clearing out the deleted items folder on either the phone or the PC should resolve teh pahntom email issue you are having.

On your computer gmail, choose all the emails you don't look at regularly and click the "archive" button. Those emails will go into the "all mail" folder and not be downloaded the next time you get mail on your phone. The good thing about archiving mail is that it helps to manage your inbox much better and you can still use the search mail feature to find things that you need.

ok...i take back what i said before about this email problem. I do have the bug. the bug is also in Mr.X rom. I confirmed it with 2 other people. I only have hotmail setup in windows live on my phone. I can go to the email tab in sense and hit Menu-Delete and the email will be gone from my inbox on my phone. Even after send/receive. But if i login to my hotmail on a computer, it's still there. I can even delete it from my deleted box on my phone and it will still be on the server. If you go to the inbox and delete from there, then it works properly. I hope Mike knows how to fix this.

I have not used MyPhone before. I will check for the extra folder on Gmail. Thanks!
