Roaming in Mexico City CDMA; Warning Message: Voice Only

Running ROM: |MightyROM| |Windows Phone| |Sense UI 2.5| |Official (05.24.2010)|

Works great in US, but get warning message (you are currently connected to a voice only network and you cannot send text or receive data). This message pops up very 15 seconds or so and interrupts typing etc.

Even though I get this message, I have data and text conductivity in Mexico City. I update my *228 prior to leaving for Mexico and switched to Verizon's international data plan.

Tried installing "fix roaming" cab and also install Mr. X ROM. I get the same issue.

I fixed only by installing Verizon stock ROM (6.5).

I would prefer to continue to use MightROM. Looks for suggestions?

Re: ░░░░ MightyROM.com ░░░░ Windows Phone® ░░░░ Update Available!

I am having the same problem some others had earlier. I upgraded to the 5/26 mighty ROM from Jan. 13 ROM and I totally forgot to clear storage before I installed the ROM. Phone worked fine until I soft reset and I got stuck in the Touch Pro 2 screen with the red loading messages in the bottom left. I followed the instructions of taking the battery out etc. which did not work. I tried to hard reset by holding down SEND, END, and Power button, it gets to the tri-color screen and asks me to hold down Volume Up to hard reset, BUT the volume up button does nothing. I tried pushing every button when its on the Hard reset confirmation screen and nothing works. I think the volume up/down buttons are not workin because they wont even initiate a hard reset. Is there any other way I can hard reset or load boot loader. I am all out of ideas and Id really appreciate some help. Thanks!!

if your volume keys are not working, i'm not sure what you could do. did you try putting the phone into bootloader mode so that you can flash the stock rom?

I tried to put it into bootloader mode by holding down the buttons, but that required the stupid Volume button haha.. Is there another way to put it into bootloader mode without the volume key?

yea, but you have to be booted up into windows. did you pull the battery for a couple minutes? if you didn't go ahead and do it now.

just to make sure you're doing it right, with your phone off, hold the vol down button and then hold power button. hold them both until the bootloader pops up. usually only takes a couple seconds.

Take the battery out and press the power button and volume down then insert the battery. That might work, if not, try the same buttons and press the reset button.

It actually worked! Thanks so much for your help. I was dreading having to take it to the sprint store and explain how I bricked my phone haha
