Lock screen has a little glitch

Using MR FF "stock," no progs or cabs installed, although I have changed some things in the settings. I expected the lock screen to look like Purian's examples on the first page of this thread, although perhaps those are shots of the lock screen for OF or SE.

My lock screen looks similar, with the taskbar at top, then the sliding lock icon below that; however, the "bar" at the bottom that has the time and date is not at the very bottom of the screen. Instead, there is another bar, about the same height, with the same calendar icon as my Sense calendar tab. Oddly, the calendar icon on the lock screen says "30" on it, even though today is the 31st. The sense tab has "31" on it.

Repeatable -- does it every time. Soft reset did not fix it. Same issue whether using regular lock or lock with pin. I did set a different background for my home screen as opposed to my lock screen. Once I figure out how to undo that, I will try that to see if that fixes it.

Did I find a bug (forgive me for even thinking it, MM :notworthy:), or do I chalk it up to 6.5.x video glitches?

ps: Don't know how to get a screen shot of the lock screen, sorry. :dontknow:

Mordy, I just flashed for the first time (went very smoothly), and the info in your posts #3 and #4 was very helpful. Thank you. Started ppcgeeks reading about MR last December; read thru the 1500+ pages in the prior thread, then read all of them here. I figured I couldn't flash until I had read every post, and I couldn't catch up until now that it has slowed down a little!

Since the experience is fresh in my mind, I have a few suggestions for your FAQ (post #3) that would help newbies like me (assuming helping newbies is of interest ;) ).

First, how about defining some terms in your FAQ: "clear storage," "hard reset," and "bootloader"? You have some excellent info on why & when to do them, but you don't say HOW to do them. For instance, "clear storage is done by settings/all settings/system/memory/clear storage (in 6.1) or settings/all settings/system/clear storage (in 6.5.x)." Maybe hard reset and bootloader should be in post #4 where you discuss specific providers if it is different for each provider.

I was able to find how to do these by searching thru this forum, and it probably is in a general TP2 forum sticky somewhere, but it would be nice to have in the FAQ here.

How about step-by-step instructions of how to flash if we are using Task 29, which it seems is becoming the recommended method? Eg, "Replace instructions 2-5 in post #1 with the following: 2. Download the Task29 and Mighty ROM of your choice to your computer -- these are exe files. 3. Make sure everything you want to save from your phone is backed up or on the SD card. 4. Follow instructions to run Task29 here. 5. Put phone into bootloader mode (see above), and connect it to your computer with the USB connection. Then run the exe file for Mighty ROM and follow the instructions."

It was a little confusing, because you start Task29 with activesync, but the flash starts with bootloader, not activesync.

Also, as I said over in the Task29 thread, you should warn us that some of the instructions given by the RUU cannot be done. For instance, there is no readme file. Also, since we just ran Task29, we cannot make an activesync/wmdc connection. But that's ok, since we started in the bootloader.

By the way, do we still clear storage after the flash if did Task29?

Another idea for the FAQ: an explanation for how to flash using the SD card.

I would ask Curtis if this info should be posted into the wiki, but I never see him around any more. :(

Thanked your post for reading the entire thread... That's pretty impressive and def worth the props!

A couple things...

Not eveyone runs Task29 prior to flashing, so they can still start the flash from activeSync/WMDC. That's why there's not specific directions on AS/WMDC vs. Bootloader vs. Task29... everyone has their own preferences, thus they can read the threads on those topics separately. Same thing with SD flashing.

Plus then Mordy would have to try and keep all of that info up to date with new info on each one of those....

And I still Clear Storage after the flash even if I dis Task29. Only takes a couple extra minutes, and could prevent som eserious headaches and potential HRs later on.

Thanks and hope that helps!

No Wifi router or Bluetooth PAN

I could use some help. I just loaded the latest version from mightyrom.com. The Wifi router seems to start up properly, but I can't see it from any of my notebooks. Since that didn't work I tried Bluetooth PAN, but when I opened Internet Sharing only the USB connection option is available. Are there any fixes for these problems?

Thanks

The phone should AUTO-provision for your carrier, if like me and a few other people it didnt work, do the following:

Start Menu -> Tools (folder) -> then click "Provision Device" (has a MR icon last time i checked), chose your carrier and hit commit, then reset when it asks you to, and your done!

As for the end key, I think thats a Verizon specific action, i know its possible to change it to do that, try a search on this thread, im sure it has been discussed before and a cab or reg entry provided to change it (dont like it myself) it might even be somewhere on the front page or a link leading from the front page (known as page1)

Just a couple of random questions. Can I buy or make a cable for the tv out? If so what is the output cable (rca, svideo, hdmi)? What about an audio out cable? RCA out or similiar so I can just plug into my stereo in the backyard.
Thanks

you can buy a tv out cable either from htc (ACT100 i believe) or from an aftermarket oem like on ebay (just search touch pro 2 av cable). as far as audio out, you can buy a cable (3.5mm to red and white plugs) from best buy or other electronics stores and it will work.

Hard Button Light Issue

I've tried searching on this one but didn't find any answers and can't really think of a good search string so please don't flame me if this has been posted already. For some reason the hard buttons on the phone (power, send, etc.) won't turn off at all unless I power the phone down. This started yesterday and I have no idea what made it happen. Has anyone else ever heard of this?

Thanks,
Deuce

Did you install anything new in the last few day's or change any settings in the last week that might have affected this?

try flashing back to stock, if they are still stuck on, I would say its a hardware issue and time to take it to repair.

OK, I'm thinking it's a hardware glitch. I just started putting some preasure on the Power button and can make it go off for a bit. I may have to perform surgery to remove some debris.

Running the original MightyROM. My SMS thread is very slow. Probably 50% of the time after I send a text, or read one it takes about 5-15 seconds to load up the screen so I can continue to look at other texts or close the window. I tried searching for an answer, but can't see anything anywhere.

The only option I saw was to delete the texts that I have saved - which might work for me b/c I have hundreds of texts. Is there a quick way to delete texts, or a setting to delete texts after, say, a week or so? I want to keep my most recent texts but don't know if this is a possibility...

Thanks!

dont think there is an option to delete after a certain amount of time...i think that is android/BB specific. You can delete all of them by just hitting menu, select messages, all. I would go ahead and delete them from your deleted messages box as well after this just to get it to move a bit faster. This is via the windows messaging screen as well which you get to by hiting all messages from your sense tab

If you are using the 5-23-10 Official MightyROM, DONT USE THAT!!! Those where (at least I dont see anything saying they where updated) for Sense subversion 2012, the latest 5-23-10 release uses 2013

I haven't CFC patched the newer Manila, so don't use them on the newest 2013 builds, I'll try and remember tonight.

As for the differences, the CFC patched manila, is just manila patched to be able to use CFC compressed files.

The CFC compressed files are all the *manila files compressed with CFC.

Some say that CFC compression speeds up the device slightly, other dis-agree, however, both will agree that it saves space. Now the space savings come when it's cooked into the ROM, if you install the CFC compressed *manila files, it will actually increase the space required, since the cooked in versions are still there, just overwritten.

Now if you are in the first group and believe that the speed increase outweighs the memory used, then install the CFC compressed *manila files.

as been stated, no two people use the device the same way. Some connect to exchange to run all the time, some browse alot, some bluetooth alot, some talk alot. All of which will cut your battery time.

i'm a heavy user. Heavy as in tons of email daily, exchange connect, talk alot every day, browse and text on the side. i can easily get a day's worth of hard use out of it.

Me -> MightyROM Addict ... Reviewed BigMaxSense for a couple days...

Just want to share with you guys my results from running BigMaxSense for a couple of days.

The MaxSense modifications are amazing. It's hard to believe it's the same phone, with SenseUI, due to his different "Home Pages" interface. The potential for this interface is huge, and I look forward to following their progress over the remaining life of me owning a Touch Pro 2.

However,.. they have a long ways to go for this to be "flawless". Right now, it feels to be about as buggy as Sense2.5 was on Day-1 of it being ported into our Touch Pro 2's. The menu's are jerky, the "edit home page" functionality is a bit touchy.. just not quite perfectly polished.

So, I'm now reverting back to my saved SPB Backup of MR FF, which I've been enjoying for the past month. Even with the large potential that MaxSense has... it just doesn't beat 200% stability and perfectly customized to my liking...

Hi everyone!

Way the heck off topic but just wanted to blab a bit. I haven't posted much because I did not want redundancy in this thread. Most people help out to the extent that all I do is 'lurk'. Anyway, I am counting down to the new EVO as most are but I am still having my doubts. Mike has done nothing but good to my winmo phones. And to all those that have helped him make a badass ROM, my hat is off to you. Still not too sure if I am going to stick to android but I have to try. I will always be watching the thread though that's for sure. Maybe one day Mike will give in and Move to the US to be part of the crowd..lol

So anyway, I just wanted to say hello and jump on the soapbox for a minute...carry on yo! :)

I've been getting insane good batery life on FF, and I'm a heavy user...

I take it off the charger at 6AM

30-40 minutes talk time
150-200 texts/day
30-45 minutes Opera browsing
2 email accounts syncing every 60 minutes
Weather update every 60 minutes
Twitter update every 60 minutes
Facebook update every 2 hours
Play music in WMP all day long

Battery down to about 55-60% at 5 PM

Then I'll usually get 2.5-3 hours of wifi tethering before I have to plug it in.
