With the device turned off, press and hold the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons until you see a message on the screen. Release the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset. Once the restore screen appears press Volume Up to restore the device to its factory settings or any other button to cancel. Once complete press Volume Up to reboot.

it wipes the ROM clean, I hope you have your stuff backed up. It takes the ROM back to like it was freshly installed.

yeah, actually i had just Flashed it and the only thing i had setup was exchange email. then i locked it by accident. hadnt loaded everything back on the phone yet, which bring me to the next thing. I hope this isnt a bug or something. i really dont see how i set a password - Is there a default UNLOCK password with the new ROM??

No, i think i figured out what happened. When i was setting up the Exchange email i started entering the password for the email in the phone and a Change Password popped up, saying the server required me to change my password. After I checked the Security Password for the UNLOCK on the phone i realized the popup with for the PHONE not my exchange email. becuae it happend at the time i was entering pw for email i didnt notice it was for the phone. SO SET the LOCK passord on the phone and didnt realized it. I Selected the Alpha Numeric password and not the standard 4 digit pin. WOnt make that mistake again

No, ok i figured out what happened, when i setup my Exchange email the phone prompted me that i had to setup a password or pin, for some reason I was thinking the popup was to change the exchange email password, but it was for the Phone LOCK - when i set it i selected AlphaNumeric rather than 4 digit pin. Im an idiot, Wont make that mistake again

hoping someone can help with these two issues: im running an htc tp2, on sprint btw - all other settings are completely normal stock install of latest mr.

i installed latest mighty rom and i uncheck HTC sense (i personally think its bloatware and makes the phone run super slow) and i am unable to play any music - i go to start, multimedia, windows media and get the error "cannoy play any items in the playlist..."

also, i am experiencing unusually large fonts, when, for example, i go to messaging, and click menu on bottom right, any way to fix this? previously, i was able to go to "TOUCH FLO" and change the setting to small....

thanks in advance...

edit: resolved the music issue, just needed to update my library..would still appreciate help with font issue...and speaking of..anyone know a way to change the font color?? i have a white background and would love black text...thanks!

Yesterday I flashed the newest MightyRom onto my TP2. This is my first time using a custom ROM and love it so far. However, I am unable to connect to my Wifi network at home. After putting in the network key the phone tries to connect and then the network shows up as unavailable. The stock Sprint WM 6.5 ROM had no problems connecting to the same network.

I tried some things to troubleshoot but nothing helped. I tried setting my router to WPA, WPA2. WEP, and even turned off wifi protection and made it an open network. The phone still wouldnt connect.

The wifi card in the phone isn't broken either as the Wifi internet sharing works just fine. My laptop can connect and access the internet through my phone.

Does anyone has any suggestions?

Thanks,
Chri

Does anyone have suggestions? I setup an adhoc network on my laptop and was able to connect to it just fine with my phone. It's just that for some reason it won't connect to my router even with it set as an open network.

I'll reflash my device again today and see if that works.

No idea if it will help but you could try managing your wifi with a different program than the built in winmo. WIFI Monster is pretty popular I think.

Start - Settings -System - Screen

move over to the "Text Size" tab, and set you desired size.

good call on the Update Library!

Try Editing posts so you don't have several posts one after the other...also try not to double post the same thing you just posted....

As far as changing the text color...Cookies Home Tab Editor has a setting that will work...but I am not sure if it would work without HTC Sense...but you can always try....

Also HTC Sense really slows your phone that bad??? A memory hog??? When you turn it off and put Windows Default on the memory is a 6% difference...to me with all the added benefits of Sense that is minuscule...plus most programs can take more memory to run then Sense...IMO...

Heres an interesting observation. I've been on vacation all week and have not made or received any phone calls. And guess what....no SOD. Phone is as snappy as usual and I haven't even had to do a soft reset at all this week. I'm still using data to surf and getting emails pushed as well as texting and GPS but not a single phone call.
Is it possible that the SOD's could be related to the phone software?

I know this is not MightyRom specific, but there are a lot of great minds here so I just thought I'd throw it out and see what y'all think. I also know its not tooo practical to not use our phones for a week to test out my thought, but what the heck. Just seemed interesting to me...or maybe I've just gotten too much sun and beer.

If we could only pin point this problem, that would be the million dollar discovery. Sprint, HTC won't even accept that there is a problem with this..

But I've too been on vacation outside the country and I had the SOD without using my phone. I did use WiFi and managed to get the SOD..

hhuummm!! I wonder!

Re: ░░░░ MightyROM.com ░░░░ Windows Phone® ░░░░ Update Available!

My first TP2 was replaced 2 months ago after the touch screen stopped working. I use to get an SOD at least once a day and would have to pull the battery or press the reset button.

When I got my replacement phone, which was refurbished, it already came preloaded with WM 6.5. Not once did I have a SOD. I have been running MightyRom for a couple days now and have not had a SOD either. Maybe it could have something related to certain batches of TP2. I bought my first one the first day it was available for order on Sprint's website.

SOD issues is like the million dollar question everyone has a answer but it never seems to be right. Glad that the issue has stopped for you, I got one of the first batch and only had the issue maybe a handful times.

Thanks for this suggestion, but sadly it did not work. It timed out while trying to get an IP address.

However, it did show me something that may be causing the problem. But I have no idea how I would fix it.

My router is set to channel 7 but WifiMonster showed it as being Channel 5. I changed my router to channel 5 but then WifiMonster said that my network was broadcasting on channel 3.

I wonder if some setting got changed on my phone that would incorrectly detect what channel a network is using?

Interestin thought...I got my first one a about a month after it came out and do not remember getting the SOD, but when I got my repalcement back in FEB it started happening. whats even more interesting. Since I ran task29 and flashed to FF i have had a ALOT less SOD then before.
its stupid that Sprint and HTC wont even acknowledge it. I think thats becuz they do not want to admit that they have a problem. I remember that when there were all the issues with the TP1 that it took them a while to admit that it was a shitty build.

OK! This is really strange. I just got a phone call, my first in 6 days and my screen is stuck and my hard keys are lit up! I'm not kidding. Power button has not turned the screen on or the hard buttons off. Its been several minutes and they are still lit up.

I really wonder if it is phone related.

David

Edit: only way to get the hardkeys to turn off was to soft reset. I hit the power button several times and that did not work. Sliding the KB out eventually activated the screen but ended up having to a SR to fix the problem.

hmmmmm

That happened with me on my first TP2 several times. One time I had the screen get stuck halfway through the swipe to answer bar. The phone froze with the hardware keys lit up and the "button" that you swipe was in the middle of the green answer bar. The phone never answered the called and I had to soft reset the phone.

Yep, it sure is. :-)

The funny thing is, that normally I make and receive several calls a day and my phone begins to slow down. Its hit or miss on SOD's but they do happen to me. I usually SR every couple days and that will in general prevent them for me.

This week has been a bit unusual for me as I haven't made or received a single call until today. I've mostly been texting, using data, listening to music via my BT headphones, playing teeter and solitair and uploading pics and updates to my FB page. But no calls. Phone has been behaving outstanding and I have even gone three days without charging (was down to 40% after 3 days and plugged in).

Today, with no programs running in memory, I get a phone call shortly followed by a SOD. Quite puzzling.

I have been using the stock sprint radio (latest from the current WM 6.5 sprint ROM) and the stock dialer that comes with MR. I have a program called PhonEX that disables the WM dialer which I haven't used since my TP1, that will allow you to disable the WM dialer. I thing I may load it up and see what happens. I really wonder (holds up flaming arrow shield) if this is a WM dialer issue combined with (as others have mentioned) a specific hardware revision.

David

UGGGGHHHHH!!!

Enough with the SOD issue...there is a thread for it...this happens every so often on quite a few phones...alot of times it is the user installing older programs that were never updated for there phone...other times it is something running in the background that is basically overloading your phone...I personally have had issues with it here and there...but I just deal with it because I know its going to happen...what I do is find a setup that works for me and stick to it...I don't go cab happy and install loads of crap that could possibly mess something up...

Also with refurbished phones....lol...most refurbished phones are phones sent back within 30 days of the original person who bought it...and a lot of times they use up the old hardware laying around before they move to new parts...just my observation as an at&t Retentions Agent...

Yep, I completely understand, in fact, I did quite a bit of searching about the SOD lately and find quite a few threads that have gone way OT. SInce the MR thread is pretty much the only one I read here with any regularity, and there are quite a few very knowlegable posters here, I thought I'd throw out my experience and see waht happens.
IMHO, there has not been much relevant MR discussion here the last several days anyway.
Forgive me for going astray. :-)

did you install any third party lock program? Does it ask you for a numeric code before unlocking?

if you installed a third party lock program, just uninstall it.

if it asks you for a code, then go to start/ settings/ Lock and disable it.

I installed S2U2 but realized that I had to unlock twice cause of the built in lock. I installed it cause I'd rather use the WM lock.

no code either.

I did try to install a different lock program to see if I can disable it that way but didnt seem to have an effect so I uninstalled it.

did you go to start/ settings / Lock and see if it is checked?

also look into your installation cabs and make sure you did not install Lock Device.

One more thing, if you installed Cookies CHT that one has a lock device in it. Make sure you did not activate that.
