K, after flashing FF my exchange is working good, everything works good. Some screens are garbled but i can deal with that.

On the stock OPERA browser, whenever you try to delete a character in the URL it just moves the cursor but leaves the actual text on the screen. Then if you start typing it actually puts that character on top of the other character lol

i downloaded opera mini and am using that now, but its funny that it does that

I feel like a dope but what is this "FF" everyone is talking about? I read the OP 2 times in hopes to figure it out. Since everyone is all excited about it so am I!

(I know it's Full Force version of the ROM, just don't know how it differs from the others; especially since I always disable TouchFlo3d on the Today screen).

Yeah, but it doesn't show 5, 10 3 hours after boot for me. I just don't understand it.

Do you know what files are responsible for the HTC Taskmanager? Is it the same same that governs the email/sms notification function? I'm finding when they stop working the taskmanager icon is gone as well.

I'm thinking if I knew the dll(?) that is in charge maybe I can stop and start it using memmaid.

Using the SE rom currently (might try FF soon). Still my previous stated problem (about 300+ pages of posts ago... here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=3127) from the 032310 rom still exists. Using bluetooth radio in car, and using phone as media player. Audio cuts out randomly, it doesn't freeze as the song keeps playing, just goes silent. Anyone have any ideas as to the cause?

TASK29 was not listed in task manager but i restarted my computer anyway. After that i did the same thing and got the same message. because it never went past that error message i assumed task29 never ran but when i took my batter out and put it back in my phone did not want to go past the touch pro 2 screeen. (needles to say i am freeking out at this point). I decided to follow the instruction with the volume key and power button and was able to het to the multicolor screen. I am pretty sure i was never able to complete run task29 but my phone acted like it took so whatever right. I then flashed SE instead of FF so lets see. I am keeping my fingers crossed that i dont have any more issues. Thanks for all who helped.

I had the same problem when I ran task29. I was leaving usb plugged in so every time I put the battery back on it would automatically turn on. So I unplugged the usb took battery out then reinstalled battery and entered bootloader.

After reading the OP yet again I was wondering the best way to always record phone calls? I used Resco Audio Recorder which did amazing sound quality from both ends but routinely screwed my phone up. I see a lot of people talking about lowering the bitrate and such.

Is there a way using only MightyROM to record all phone calls that sound pretty good on both ends? Double thanks if there's a way to have the files automatically store to my storage card!

That's what I usually do (Sprite) and it works great same ROM to same ROM. I guess i was hoping for something simpler since I'm lazy. ;-)

Also, I'm concerned the memory management tweaks Mike did might get written over by the backup. I guess it depends on if it's a new ROM DLL (won't get written over) or registry settings (might get written over).

Does anybody know?

I had a similar problem on a Touch Pro 1. The bluetooth would just die randomly (audio cut out was the first noticable symptom). If I tried to turn BT off, the device would hang / slow down for about 30 seconds, then the BT icon disappeared. At that point, I could turn it back on and it would work for a little while longer until it crashed again.

It turns out it was a bad device. I exchanged it and never had BT problems again.

I don't know if that's your problem, as I imagine there are numerous factors that could cause audio to cut out randomly.

It's always better to reinstall everything from scratch with a new ROM. installing a backup from a different version of a ROM is never a good idea.

Of course, but sometimes it works fine when the changes are minor. The latest ROM's changelog was small, as it seems Mike was focusing his attention on getting a few things just fixed up really really well. I was hoping it could have been cabbed, but... Ah well, I guess I can't have a cab for everything. ;-) Sometimes you just gotta sucks it up and reinstall...

The timing just seems to be interesting, since they didn't occur before I upgraded to the 032310 mightyrom. Makes me think it might be either related to the 2.5 or the change away from the microsoft bluetooth stack. Of course, the timing could be entirely coincidental, I'll have to see if I can find out if it's a device issue or not.

this might be a stupid question, but how do people like the mightyrom FF over all, any glitches that can be fixed or causing real problems, im using the april 23rd rom and it works great over all and yea i didnt really wanna flash to the may 1st OF cuz the changelog wasnt too long and was thinking about flashing to the FF, thanks for your input guys!

As with Any 6.5.x builds, there will be glitches.. FF has been very stable and people here have been more than satisfied with it. It provides a different taskbar, threaded email, menu at the bottom and the stability of MR.

Try it yourself and figure out if you like it.. If you don't you can always go back to where you were.

well.. i've been running with SODs left and right for about 4 months now... installed FF and have not had one in 3 days.... i install all the same programs I normally install... don't know what you did but it's amazing!

Im running FF and it seems like everyone else is getting good battery life. So I'm wondering if anyone uses the NRG rom battery cabs on the FF rom and it still has good battery life. I'm trying to find the cause as to where the battery drainage is coming from? Looking at the battery monitor I have a discharge current ranging from 150-300 mA but usually is at 260 mA.

Oh yes - well known issue depending on the BT head unit you're using. I have researched this to my wits end. The issue is - pausing is taking place to change the BT bitrate or otherwise sound quality of the stream. If you listen, you'll notice that after the pause - music quality drops. Then it goes back, then will pause and drop again. Also (if you're using a Kenwood HU with Parrot BT) you'll notice that initial sound is not that great to begin with. So here are the tweaks that, for the most part, have fixed this issue:

**Set initial line speed to sound quality that is tolerable**

HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\Plugin\AV\LineSpeed = 256 (DWORD)

The above alone however will increase the pauses and resets in music playback. So - what seems to work really well is to increase the file cache sizes from their default values of 4096:

HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS\EnableCache = 1 (DWORD)

HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS\CacheSize = 16384 (DWORD)

HKLM\System\StorageManager\Filters\fsreplxfilt\Rep lStoreCacheSize = 32768 (DWORD)

Yes - these will use more device memory for caching - but it all but eliminates the pausing on music playback, and the quality is vastly enhanced. Pauses may sometimes occur still, but much more rarely, and sometimes not at all during the day. Going to task manager and closing open apps helps too it seems, but it's a bit hit or miss on what most affects this phenomenon.

I'm still experimenting a bit with these values - and will also try 32768 for both shortly. I don't run a lot of apps simultaneously, just IMAP email checking. So committing more to cache is not particularly an issue for me. Have the memory - so may as well use it!

Please try the above and let me know. This problem is widely discussed on XDA, Kenwood and many other forums. And - it is expressly related to the Widcomm BT stack. The MS stack never did this. There has not been a conclusive solution put forth in any of those forums - but I've also not yet "published" the file cache approach. Like I said - I have researched and tried just about everything - and the above really seems to make the difference.

Please go into HKLM>SOFTWARE>HTC>MANILA>CONFIGURATION and check each folder so you can find which one is the facebook tab on your particular setup

Go into that Key and tell me what value is set for Title ? Should be [[IDS.... or something like that.

touchscreen is more responsive to your finger..well Mightyrom made the speed on the Rom really nice so i dont have a problem with response. i touch something and it comes up right away..there is a glitch with the caller id if you are in landscape however but its not a problem for me

I always put my phone into bootloader mode first(personal preferance) before i ran task29 or flash/HR , you can always run it again. put the phone into bootloader and than run T29. Like it has been stated before it should come up just like you are flashing a ROM. As with flashing ROMs make sure that ur battery is over 50%. That is the only time that I have not been able to flash and recieved the error.

I leave my phone plugged in when I put it into bootloader and just take the back off and use the Power, vol down and reset botton. either way works

The update notification has been in the last few ROM's. It doesn't appear to be in SE, at least I do not see it in the startup folder. It definitely is in the official ROM for 0501, saw it in the startup folder when I flashed to that before switching to SE.

When you restore from Sprint or SPB Backup, you would first flash to the same ROM that your back up was done on. Then your backup would install over the top. It would contain all the settings you personally had at the time of backup, plus all the registry entries that were part of the original ROM plus any tweaks you did, so your getting exactly what you had prior to flashing to the new ROM.

Mighty has Call Record as part of all his ROM's to the best of my knowledge. When your on a call, go to menu and you will see record.

I was using a CAB called ACR Version 1.2.3 which can be setup to record all calls, or prompt you to record them as you make or receive calls. You can also change the default path to your storage card.

It has worked on the Official ROM with no problems.



There is a Bitrate lowering CAB on the Paperclip of this forum, but I believe that without changing anything, they save to the phone memory. There might be a registry edit that can be modified to change that, but I am not sure.
