I fully expect that everyone that has complained about the inability to charge their phones on my ROM tries this BETA ROM out and provides feedback. I'm doing this just for you.

If I don't get any feedback one way or the other from you guys with charging issues, then I'm not going to worry about it anymore and I don't want to hear about it.

I noticed that I some how F'ed up the People's Tab notification icons. I imagine it happened when I was making all the different colored ones. Anywho, I've fixed it in this ROM. I know most of you skin them with your own stuff anyway and so probably had not even noticed. If you've used one of my colored bubbles then this has already fixed it as well. I'll post a cab here in a sec. of my clear bubbles notifications fixed for anyone that keeps mine loaded.

Please, Please, Please those of you with charging issues, download and test for me as soon as you have time. It should not take long for you to find out whether or not your charging issue is fixed. As always, I strive for perfection and I want my ROM to be as usable as is possible for as many as possible. I need your help to do that since I don't and never have had this issue. Many thanks in advance!!!

OK - installed the Battery Beta. First impressions/comments after 2 hours:

- miss the 1% increment counts - jumps in 10% increments. I knew it would happen, just don't like it.
- During setup of any ROM's I lose about 10% with all my playing around and setup for an hour. I showed about 20% drop with this Beta but have no way of knowing for sure with 10% increments (rounding).
- Amber charging light comes on via USB and via wall charger

I will give it a few days and report back on battery life.

btw ... the graphic glitch after flashing is now a gray screen. I then turned off the backlight then back on and the familiar shark was there.

Yeah, I hate the 10 percent increments as well. I'm hoping that I can either install NueBattery2 as a cab or find some other 1% increment cab, so myself and others like you that like the 1% cab keep it, but those that have problems with it charging can remove it.

Were you one of the people who could only charge up via the PC and not wall chargers and such?

I think I've fixed that glitch, fyi...

No - fast battery drain only. No problems with chargers. I don't expect this to be much different than with nuebattery installed and fast charge disabled. You never know though - giving it a few days.

I've been working on the video issue. I never use YouTube and I must have messed that when I was updating some packages. Anyhow, I've done some research and I think I've fixed the video issue, at least with YouTube anyway. Before, as some have mentioned, it was playing at like half speed and the audio was at full speed, so the picture was behind and choppy. YouTube now works fine and the audio and video are in sync.

I want to also test out Streaming Media, but I've never used it. Does someone have a "Streaming Media address", if it's called that, that I can input into the "Connect" field of the Streaming Media page so I can see if all is well there as well?

Well i didnt get the results i was expecting with enabling fast charge agian. With same usage as previous two reports and this time i didnt have dramatic batt drain. That doesnt mean that it wasnt a solution but im just gonna move on and always load nuebatt to defaults, seems to work for me.

By the way i like the utask. My only grip with the reg. Task manager is to end all tasks you have to go to the menu and select then you also get a confirm all pop up. It be nice to have end all as left softkey instead of the already there end current highlighted. Dont know how that would be possible. Would rather keep # of multiple type apps down.

Sense is real fast, like this build. Still like the wall, just looks cool.

Thanks for the update!

I find that with uTask, I really don't need a "close all" option handy, cuz the apps are always closed. I know what you mean though.

I know I said that I was going to look into a new icon set, but I'm going to be sticking with iReflect for the time being. I have looked around and while plenty of them are nice, they are not what I'd want my ROM to be default. They're just not the look I'm going for. I have, however, revisited my own iReflect style icons (the blue background ones) and now I've made them all look more professional and more like the rest of the official "iReflect" icons.

Here's a few so you can see what I'm talking about:




They're much nicer than my other ones! I've done all of mine and the "Action Links" and the "Sense Tab Links" so that all will match.

I'm going to release an update tomorrow with these new icons. Not much else will be different. I just feel that icons are such an important part of a ROM and I'm really excited about these and if you're a fan of my ROM/icons then you'd probably like to go ahead and get these better looking ones on there too.

Still haven't heard anything from anyone about charging issues with the new battery.dll. WTF.

Thanks for trying to help those of us with battery issues.

To be more specific, my battery is fine, the only problem I am having is with charging. After flashing some ROMs, my phone will charge when connected to the HTC charger or when tethered but not if connected to a generic mini usb charger. Unfortunately, we have three Touch Pro 2's and 10 or more generic chargers at home, work (which we also use for other devices), in the car etc... We need our devices to be versatile enough to charge with all of these different chargers.

This problem is specific to certain ROMs. I have now flashed about 30 different ROMs on my phones trying to figure this out. So far almost all of the custom ROMs won't charge with the generic chargers, including some classics like "Juicy". 100% of the Sprint stock ROMs charge fine as do all of the Medium Hill ROMs and the VINdows ROMs.

When my device is off or early during the boot process, the amber charge light is on. About half way through the boot process (only with the afected ROMs) the light turns off and stays off until the device is powered down. The battery does not charge when connected to these generic chargers but does recognize that it is plugged in (it asks active sync/disk drive/internet sharing). This makes me suspect a driver, probably the custom 1% battery.dll that is included in most of the custom ROMs and is loaded during startup is the cause of the charging issue.

I have tried to replace the battery.dll file but get errors, probably because the file is in use. Is there some way to cook the ROM with the stock battery.dll to test this out. I tried to build a ROM from a couple of kitchens but could not find this option.
