Maybe it was already skinned in a package that I use and I am just unaware. I'll check some possiblities out.

I'm having issues making my png change the stock one. But at least now I know where the image is. It shouldn't be too long before I figure it out. I'm off to bed now, but I'll try again this weekend sometime.

I was thinking you could make it part of your Notification Icons cabs and have the color match that. If that's not possible, then yeah, dark blue I guess? Something that would show up well against your wallpapers. Not sure how many of your ROM users prefer a dark/black wallpaper background - might want to take those guys into consideration also.
