Re: [ROM] Verizon MR2 Fixed by Mr. X, Boots with an unlocked device

Update on my use of Mr. X's fixed MR2. All is wonderful. An excellent ROM, what MR2 should have been. Lots of features, and NO SOD!! Except in one situation . Initially, before charging, I had turned the display off, then plugged the phone into the charger. When I took the phone off the charger 8 hours later, it would not wake up, and things got worse, it started SODing every time it went to sleep!

Last night, I made sure the display was on when I plugged it in, and in Settings>All Settings>System>Power>Backlight, I made sure that the display was set to never go off when the phone was plugged in. That did the trick, the phone is behaving correctly now, the display cycles on and off as it should...

Tonight I am going to try again to charge it with the display off, but I'm pretty sure there is an issue there, we'll see.

And I am going to give it awhile to wake up, as suggested, it seems to sleep very deeply

OK, lamen's question: Using Resco Explorer, I can choose to show hidden files, file extensions, etc., then locate the htcservices.dll file in the Windows folder. If it's simply a hidden driver file, couldn't I simply replace the entire .dll file with the older version (or the version you are using in your ROM)? What's involved with "cooking" it into the ROM? I just don't understand and was hoping someone could enlighten me with a little ROM cooking 101.

So one time... over... and over... and over again?

Just kidding, of course. My hat is off to anyone who puts their time and effort into improving the user experience with these wonderful (and somtimes frustrating) little devices.

It's a legitimate question. There definitely still is an issue when the phone is charging. It happened again today, but when it was plugged into my PC, and when it had been plugged in for only a couple of hours. I am not sure if it has anything to do with how long, or more to do with what the phone is doing when I unplug it. Anyway, I held the hangup/power button down for awhile, and eventually ( like 30 sec ) the phone display came back on. Something to do with it going from being plugged in , to not plugged in.

But yeah, a 1000 times better than it was before Mr. X fixed the ROM.

And for humor, today HTC responded to my complaint made a week ago, suggesting that the new MR2 upgrade might solve my issues

When I told her that rather than solve the issue, it *caused* it, she thanked me and told me to have a nice day.........

Re: [ROM] Verizon MR2 Fixed by Mr. X, Boots with an unlocked device

Frist, thanks Mr X for all your work!! I have been a long time user of ppc geeks and love it!

I just unlocked my Verizon TP2 for the first time (have had the phone for about a year) and installed this ROM. But now I am having some issues, whenever I do a soft reset, it hard resets the phone and wipes all my info. Also, if I try and launch Windows My Phone, it just freezes and then I have to do a soft reset, which then does a hard reset and wipes everything again. Any ideas? The only thingI have done is unlocked and installed this ROM.

thats strange. i would flash the stock rom and make sure it's workin ok, then flash back to this rom. a corrupted mem card can cause odd issues like that, so you can try removing it while you do these steps.

I will try that, I have used this phone with the stock 6.1 ROM and my 2gb card for just over a year now with no problems at all. but it's worth a shot I guess.

Thanks!
