Downloaded 21659 posted up earlier in the week here in the thread and just tried 21660 from tonight. Here are the results

on 21659 - in Settings/Personal - There was no Voice Command, so i tranported the sys package that's worked for every SYS, except this one. works with welropes sys and calkulins sys, im not sure what's different here..

on 21660 - same as above, Voice Command wont cook in, and Start/Settings/Personal/Input (keyboard config with manila style menu) is not there. Aswell i can't get Voicecommand to pull up even with a set to Long Send Key hold command. Anyone know how to get these options back?

Other than that, it seems pretty nice and clean

i attached the voice command from 23568 (newest one i could find) it should drop right in. if you have any voice command packages in the sys remove them first. it is never recommended to overwrite anything in the sys

ok lets see if I can break it down for you. I know your not a noob but I am going to go as noobed down as I can...

Manila Engine: has all the individual tabs put into one folder (just standard stuff)
Manila: has all the actuall xxxxxxxx_manila files in one folder
Individual Tabs: has all the tabs and associated files left in original folders (this is how i set it up in my kitchen)

to achieve what you want, you need to do this:

Keep it simple, use the manila engine of your choice and matching manila files.

Take the additional tabs you want to add (ereader, doc, facebook, ect) and add those tabs as manila options - xxxxxxx folders

take the all tabs folder (only has the 26xxxxxx_manila file which controls the tabs in it) edit it based on which tabs u want to load & what position you want the tabs to load at ect..

cook and test out...

simple?

I have a question:

Has anyone actually gotten eReader, Documents, or footprints to actually work worth a crap on the TP2. I have seen ROMs that include the tabs but they never work very well. For example eReader is super slow turning pages vs. Barns & Nobles reader flips threw them. Footprints takes pictures but they never show up in the footprints tab. Last but not least documents tabs appears to work but locks up constantly. So I guess that only leaves facebook tab which is slow to load. Am I missing something? Why would anyone want to include this in their ROM?

i agree that those features would be nice to have, but since they dont work well they are not worth the effort. i do believe part of the problem has to do with the TP2 and its lack of processing power. htc doesnt care much for development on older (and yes the TP2 fits in this category) devices and thus means that the old TP2 has reached the wall.

Side Note: Couple other issues you might run into with having seperate EXTs to add tabs is 1) You need to add that tab to 26948339_manila, then say you want to add the e-reader tab plus the documents tab but you still want the option to just add one or the other, you have to have another EXT to make that possible along with the other two. 2) If you swap out the Manila core and Sense won't boot it could be almost any of the other manila packages causing it. 3) StartIconLoader has to be the version that came with the Manila Core you use.

honestly for the sake of saying those features are in the ROM truthfully most of the extra tabs were not design for our phones and thats the reason they run slow to prove this take a version of the weather tab from a leo ROM and watch the tremendous slow down with the sense home tab

This is all very true. I use the document tab and it doesnt slow down anything... facebook tab sucks so i have it but dont use it. I have the external ereader installed in my rom so it doesnt mess with manila and i could careless about footprints (cool concept but wont amount to nothing)

I agree with you 100% I have the facebook tab, but rarely use it. I have the documents tab, but I don't really have the need for it, but it has come in handy a couple of times. I always disable footprints, and I have the B&N reader, but honestly I have a Nook so I don't really use my phone for ebook reading very much, but I do like that the B&N reader is connected to my account so I can read all of the books that I have on my Nook on my phone when I am out somewhere and need to kill some time and don't want to carry my Nook with me

it was in the sys i downloaded... i will say it is being included.

I don't know about that documents tab maybe its user error but man it locks up all the time until you get all your docs loaded. After that is seems fine. I ran a ROM from one of the top chiefs here that had it and I couldn't get it to work at all. I think I had to reboot every time a document loaded.

Its all good I'm just saying those tabs don't work all that well on out devices. It is good however to understand how to create a tab and how the manila works. That I think is whats important.

that's interesting, just a heads up, 21659 came with old Office Mobile

Im recooking 21660 without patching the Office files from the official 2010 released files, to check if it shows native 21660 version. Will post results in a bit

Htc build 21660.5.3.0 does indeed have native 21660 Office 2010 included, a first for this line of SYS

and just when i thought i had figured out their dev plan.
I thought 216xx was meant to be stripped, while 23 got threaded email and such, and office 2010

I did patch 21660 for threaded email, but if anyone cooks it in without changes as is, check the email types, it might be threaded natively? (more of a wish, but you never know now)

Also the edits on the page 201 worked like a charm, Deleting the input redirect key, and transplanting 23568's Voice Command

I was transplanting 23542 package, which works everywhere but 21660, but this 23568 package works
-one thing though, how can i change it so that Voice Command from 23568 cooks in disabled, (without a checkmark) As of right now its enabled at boot, but also takes up a little RAM. rather use it when i really need it with long send key, like when driving :D thanks!

Opera Mini 5 will not take a URL as a command line argument. Thus, it will not open a web page from an e-mail, etc. It will open to the speed-dial screen, but that's it.
Keep O-10 as your default.

hey guys, in OEMXIP does that generally change from build to build?

What i have understood is that typically the MSXIPKernel changes with each build but OEMXIP can be used from any past build?

i'm using tellme right now instead of voice command. seems to be working well.

i've started using this program that allows you to choose you default internet program but also lets you choose a different browser if needed when opening different links.
i'll post it later.

correct... OEMXIP if im correct doesnt matter where you get it from..

build 21660.5.3.0 that Cptblaze posted up has a larger OEMXIP than other builds I've used, I did not notice any changes though

which version are you using? v1.6 or v2.0? wm6.5 or wm6.5.X?

i am looking at the contents of v1.6 & v 2.0 for wm6.5.X and see differences between the 2

version 1.6 dialer skin on Sprint MR1 dialer


it only skins the dialer, not the incall screen

version 2.0 skins the dialpad, but the buttons dont show

Should work with this dialer from the HD2, no time to try it, but it tis the same resolution... Gonna start rebuilding my TP2 kitchen tommorrow, getting bored with the HD2 already.

which DINIK dialer are you using? I was using the Anastasia 2.0 for 6.5.X builds and I just dropped the 2 files i posted in the Anastasia package...I also have the phonecanvas 5.30.0.0 included as well

Well I couldn't get crap to work at all. I wound up manually editing the embedded bitmaps in the phcanImages.dll

I of course re skinned some items and made it work with the XXL dialer. Took a long long time.

Turns out I was using the 2.0 for 6.5. I had to use the dialer you posted and the dialer fix but it worked with the Dinik dialer 2.0 for 6.5.x Thank You

Guys, I've been having issues adding threaded email to SYS files. One method I've used with little to no success is just coping over the files and over writing the existing. What is the working method to get thread email on a non threaded system? Thanks.

if you are trying threaded email on a com2 build you probably wont be able to. it breaks messaging (i think tmail is incompatible from com5). if you are trying to thread com3 email you need to delete the modules and replace with the com5 ones. trying to overwrite anything in the sys is not recommended.
