If you run into that problem, it's the dialer! Maybe I did something wrong, anyway I have made the switch to Dinik's dialer with some mods to get rid of the green. I hate the green buttons on dialers.

I am a strong anti-green advocate. I would love some screen shots and possible share if you can that would be great thanks for your work it looks great.

personally I love htc's hue of green. It feels like a trademark color for them, and i really enjoy it in contrast to manila's black

Also green is my favourite color d:

I'm not sure what I mean really... I've been messing around with RZ's kitchen and some of the newer manila packages. In my playing and rearranging I've somehow gotten rid of HTCStartUp.exe, because on boot up I get a cannot find that file error. I will check with HTC Animation and see if that's where the problem lies. Thanks for the response!

Ok, so in case someone else has my problem here is the deal. The problem stems from the Sense 2.5.2014 package that someone posted a few pages back. In the Manila_initflashfilesdat_2014 files there are shortcuts to several things, two of which are HTCStartUp and PKG. I don't know what those are but I guess I don't have them and that's what was causing the "cannot find..." error for both of those shortcuts on boot up. Once I removed those shortcuts and edited the app.dat file to remove those two entries, I get no error messages.

On a side note, I can't see any differences b/w 2014 and 2012...

anyone using tacchan's taskbar, that can help me with the double BT icon??? Anyway I can erase the default one? I've tried all the fixes and can't seem to get it to go away.
my guess is that the .exe I am using for the BT fix is trying to erase the default one from the wrong place since I'm using a custom ROM.

and as it were, I am currently using 23121 with mobile shell 3.5.5 and I must say, it is the fastest loading mobile shell yet. Went back to the old dialer for now.
I am loving the S2U2 except for the fact that it blocks my call blocker program, but the functionality from a lockscreen is great.
I am thinking of going back to inserting the font cab after flash it will catch mobile shell as well.

Re: [Kitchen] WVGA Touch Pro 2 Collaboration

Hi everyone,

I downloaded the kitchen listed in the first post in this thread. I was using the stock Sprint 6.5 (21889) rom my phone and decided to dump it to the kitchen to see if I could do away with a few things and add my own stuff. I hard reset from time to time and just wanted a ready-to-go rom. Everything went well except when I create the ROM, flash it, and boot up, my phone hangs the splash screen where it says "Preparing your phone for first use." The progress bar fills up all the way but it doesn't do anything at all after that. I've search around here and elsewhere on the web but I had no luck. I watched those videos by lion75y too. Anyone else see this? Also, am I supposed to check the Real WM 6.5 AKU box? It errors out if I don't. I just want to make sure I'm doing this right.

Thanks in advance!

I would to share, but do the agreement with Dinik I can not release what I have except in my rom. Sorry

Re: [Kitchen] WVGA Touch Pro 2 Collaboration

yes you are supposed to check the box, won't build the ROM if you don't.
If you are hanging on the bootscreen, than something is wrong with the ROM.
I would try one of the sys's already in the kitchen and start over.

I guess you are using the Taskbar Icon Manager? Have you tried cooking without it?

[/Opinion]
Also, very nice screens you've got going on here. I know I'm going to sound like a jerk, but all this discussion of differences in Manilla versions just makes me laugh when you look at the variety that something like SPB MS allows.
I think Manilla looks a LOT better with CHT and/or MaxSense, but it's still Manilla. You can put lipstick on a pig ....

don't think I am using any taskbar icon manager. I'll look at the build log, but pretty sure I am not. The funny thing is that the last time I flashed, the taskbar was perfect with only the 1 custom BT icon.
Yeah, I started using Mobile shell very early on, and don't think I could go back now. CHT and max sense definitely make it better, but I don't think it fixes the lag issues that come with sense constantly trying to build those lists (texts, emails, music, etc). I've seen videos demoing cht and it is always on a fresh flash with no contacts or texts. Though if someone has a video proving me wrong...

Ouch! I for one love my Manila! I think the only reason many people including myself don't use SPB is because it's not free. We are too spoiled in Phoneland these days. We want free! Just my opinion... :)

Perhaps I will look into SPB Mobile shell. :D Those screenies do look tight!

No, you're right about CHT causing a lag. While it adds much more functionality, it slows movement from the homescreen down significantly. I finally removed CHT from my ROM last night due to that fact. Perhaps, v1.8.1 will be better, perhaps not...

I was one of those who swore by 235xx, but I've moved on since it's almost certainly dead. I've been using 23121 for a couple of weeks now, and pleased with it.

At this point, I'll try both 23123 and 24614 and choose one.

Set your time zone, then export below reg, and add it as last reg tweak in your kitchen. Also add provxml file of that as well, as some OEM pkgs tend to set time zones.

Code:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Time]
"TimeZoneInformation"=hex:\.....

Re: [Kitchen] WVGA Touch Pro 2 Collaboration

I'm curious as to how you all have been fixing the missing text in htc Teeter while cooking with this kitchen and switching out SYS.

I figured it out last week, and added the fix to all my builds, by comparing with 23542, which was a Calk native sys.

Though i just WinDiff'ed my fixed SYS(i fixed 5 of them) with the teeter text working, with a plain extracted SYS of the same build and all i get it identical files except for the 'skip' files.

It's really odd because i had found the file, then fixed all my sys, then just kinda forgot about which file it was, lol

Though if you know you get triple thanked :)

p.s i specifically remember it being one single file. that could be opened with notepad ++, and i dont remember it being relevant to teeter when it was opened more like '0089695' in columns
