I throw in my 2 cents worth and say that it's time to move on from Calk's thread. It would be different if he was still communicating with us, but he isn't. Let's go forward from now on.

Also, has anyone ever thought about porting the 2.1 internet tab to 2.5. I've got a mod that makes the 2.1 tab much better and waaaaayyyy less of a resource hog than the 2.5 tab.

Yo, there seems to be a problem with 23563/62 and the date picker. Surprised no one has caught it; regardless, new 23563 has been uploaded with the fix. Thanks to the cats at xda!

To stem off a major download, just replace this file in your SYS/23563/SHARED/COMMON/OS folder!

Later,

1. I agree. That thread does have a wealth of knowledge but i think we need to move it forward....

2. I have been hearing about the attempts to port 2.1 internet tab. i am willing to take a stab at it....

off topic question: so how long does it take for you to cook a rom?

Yes, I agree... Calkulin has left the building. Let him go. I found myself following the same type of conversion in his thread and this one today. It is time to let it float to the bottom. There is no need to let this and his occupy front page space and take away realestate from aspiring noob roms...

But on a side note, what mod? All I've got is this one that gives the tab 3 across instead of just two.

Why don't we make an "official" post in Calk's thread for everyone stating that we are over here now? If we keep working both threads, we will just have twice as much too keep up with. I will post in Calk's thread shortly that my updates will be in this thread from now on out. I will still browse the thread to help out, but i will try to shift traffic here.

How about the OP link his thread for reference only. It will be outdate soon if everyone shifts traffic here. :)

this is what I use, it is post flash, but very effective and only takes a couple of minutes (though I wouldn't mind being able to change the icons too, just I think you have to change a .dll file and I don't know how to do that yet).
there is a readme that explains how it works in the cab that you can look at and here are some places to get icons:

so this is the new thread for the be all end all tp2 kitchen discussion thats super. anyway since the other thread was closed i figured id post here.

I had a problem with the sense music tab not playing music or playing and freezing after a couple of seconds. i thought it was the system i was using but further investigation shows its a/the program that auto searches and looks for album art or new library changes. any way to just disable this through the registry or is this one of those enigmas that hasn't been answered yet.

I created another package that will overwrite all of those folder icons and any other icon. That way I didn't have to hunt them all down and replace them individually. It also makes it easier if i want to change my icon theme too. As for what names to use, go into the registry and look for
HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start
That's where everything on your start menu gets its icons. For each lnk or folder, there's an icon value. So the games folder icon is named Start_Icon_Games.png

Re: [Kitchen] WVGA Touch Pro 2 Collaboration

For those of you using 6.5.x, I came across a program the other day called Ameba that allows you to change the behavior of the X and start menu buttons. You can set it so a short/long press of the X actually closes a program as opposed to just throwing it in the background. There are other settings as well. I did see it mentioned a long while ago in Calkulin's thread(I wish it wasn't locked) but figured I throw it out here again, as it seems to be working extremly well.

Here's the thread at XDA(I'd attach the program but I can't upload from work)...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583002

The only thing I had to do was to throw Arkswitch into the exceptions list so it wouldn't close that program on pressing the X.

i am not sure about the folder icon, but the icon for games is in the SYS and the file is Start_Icon_Games.png

if you rename the .png file you want to use as the games folder to that it will overwrite it when cooking and you will have your new games folder.

In fact you can just rename all of the SYS icons to Start_Icon_xxx.png "xxx is the name of the program/file" and it will overwrite them during the cooking process saving you the time for typing out the registry entry.

I am having the same ole issues with sms, but i think it is arcsoft.. but no, i have no issues opening my email. I think 230xx was just the start of com3. The early builds had the start menu up top like com2. I think anything after 23017 had the start menu on the bottom.

The only way I could explain the different branches is some are built by different departments & companies. They use branches to implement different things ie some for stability, some for trying new things, etc.

in the ruu, it is just changing the name of the rom at the top of the kitchen. If you want it to show up as yours in the settings/system/about/
then edit the .rgu in this folder
