Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)

Anyone figure out a Reg Edit to make the Settings button take you to the actual settings page instead of the Manila tab..?? I noticed if you're on titanium and goto settings it takes you there, but if you're running Manila, it takes you to the tabbed settings menu which = fail

here you go... I copied and pasted from the following thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=114806

Stop Settings from going to Settings Tab -
1. with Total Commander move htcsettings.lnk from the Start Menu.
2. Search the registry for hidesettings and change it from 1 to 0.
now softreset and you'll be ready to go

And secondly...can they be simply 'turned off' so i can see more of 'my calendar' on the home screen like I can in 6.1?

I value the home screen greatly...and if i have to stare at a Sprint Music (and the two others) for now on...that's a deal breaker.

Thanks!

Just to clarify, you actually have 9 Big Buttons on the home page. You can only see three until you 'flip' them up. then the other 6 appear.

Once you 'flip' them up, you can press 'menu' on the bottom right, select "Remove Quick Links" and then tap the ones you wish to remove. Click "done" on the bottom left when you are finished. Now that you have some empty tabs, you can click them and add a Program. After selecting Add Program, you can then slide up/down the program list until you find the right one and select it. Press "done" when you are finished, or all the blocks are full.

Jadoe05 is referring to the 16-tab cab or the Cookies Home Page cabs that were bounced around a LOT in this thread.

I added the 16 tab and it meets my needs: for now!

for those of you as retarded as me, that are pissed about the task manager quick menu not being at the top on the today screen- slide to settings, all settings, system, click on task manager, click on the button tab, you'll notice it already has a check mark on "quick menu on today screen", just click Ok now.

Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)

I usually don't comment on stock roms because, just like 00_Mackie_00 said, I think for the most part they are a joke once you have been on a custom rom. I should say that initially I was impressed with this rom from Sprint, fast, stable, seemed (initially) to have good eye-candy & layout, but the more I ran it, the more I saw the flaws, limitations, hold-backs, and within the next 4/5 (I couldn't stand the frustration anymore), I was back to Chris1683's Sprint Lover's rom. For anyone looking to get as close to stock stability as possible on Sprint, you cannot beat Chris' rom (he's already enhancing the stock 6.5, so that you have stock without junk, updated apps, and a fast and stable platform using less resources). I have used MM's roms, Neodium's, Juicy's & now Chris', and after all of those roms, all I can say is, this stock rom is a joke. If I pay so much money for a phone, I want (to a large extent), be able to make it work the way I want, not just be stuck with whatever Sprint feels is good for me.
