I have a dumb question but what do you guys mean when you say this doesn't have HTC messaging like before or something like that? I know before when I sent a text I saw a window pop up that said message sent now i don't. But the texting looks all the same to me as before? But I keep reading that it's differenet or not HTC's. Just wondering. This is my 1st smartphone ever. But I love it and am loving the new 6.5 And I found a cab for the task manger so it's back up top. Rose

I have been on Mr.X manila 2.5 rom until this Sprint update released. Now i'm trying to decide if this new Sprint rom is gonna do it for me or if i need to go back to the best damn TP2 rom ever... Mr.X manila 2.5. Hands down the best trouble-free rom in my opinion and Neodium takes a close second place for Sprint users. Either of these two roms are the fastest, smoothest and most dependable, glitch-free roms ever. I really like the feel of an "official" Sprint rom, but this new 6.5 rom is iffy for me right now.

I got tethering with usb working on the new Sprint 6.5 rom it no problem. I heard someone say Sprint made it more difficult to tether... that's not the case.

they took htc sense 2.5 messaging out and used sense 2.1 messaging. there's screenshots showing the difference somewhere around here. i seen them the other day.

Oh well if you find them let me me know. Is that why I don't see a window pop up now that says message sent on my text? I don't get a good signal where I work and that is how I knew if it went through or not. Now I just assume it did if I don't see the red message not sent and I also double check my sent folder to be sure. Thanks,

no, thats just a registry setting that you can change for it to give you the message sent notification. you don't need it cause it will let you know if it doesn't go through.

Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)

tx_db and wherestheanykey,

Thanks for your help, but I'm totally frustrated and a bit envious at this point. I re-flashed the Sprint 6.5 ROM for the third time to clear all cabs and reg edits for tethering, and I still can't get USB tethering to work. I did the three registry edits and saw no change. It does not put the ICS icon in your start menu that has the selection drop down Sprint or Phone as Modem. You have to use the original ICS icon under tools and all is list is USB or Bluetooth PAN. I clicked USB, connect, and NOTHING... Ugh!!! So, I add the stealth tethering cab, reset, and the new ICS icon is in the start menu. I select Sprint, connect, and NOTHING. On both occasions, te status just sets at Check USB Cable Connection. I used PHM Reg Editor and after the update was my first time ever using one. After I change the settings, I just hit Exit. After the reset, the changes were still there, so I don't know what's wrong. My PRL is 60662. I read a couple of pages back that this PRL makes tethering harder to connect, and people were looking for the 60652 or 60657 PRL. I always have a data connection, so let me verify this: when I connect the USB, should I choose Active Sync, Data File Transfer or Internet Sharing (phone as modem)? I've been selecting Active Sync (as I did on 6.1 with no problems). I don't get it... I use the net occasionally at home (a dial-up only area), so I was so spoiled by the occasional surfs via USB to PC before the update. Grrrr.........

Where did you find the cab for the task manager? Friend has this sprint rom and he wants the quick link back on top. Can you give me a link?

anyone else having serious battery issues?!? I've tried reloading the stock rom, and it continutes all i've added is the HTC_TaskManager, and Spike's TaskBar it either stays at 100% the entire time or it will function properly or atleast it appears to be after 70% is just drops to 30% within the hr then just turns off shorty after I've shut off all automatic updates (twitter, weather)...also i've notice that all of a sudden i'm getting errors about the charging capacity, but i've never had a problem, or even seen that errors until the new Sprint update was released any suggestions?

Yeah I am having major program memory storage issues. 79+% range.
I installed the Misfortune's taskbar along with Gt2L's tweaks package.

Not sure what is causing this leakage.

I used to get that message before at work when plugging my phone into a computer. If the battery was so far already dead then it would say that it was weird.

But another question I have is if I have the twitter app open to a page does it refresh on it's own or is there a setting? I was trying to use it yesterday and couldn't figure it out. Thanks, Rose

I flashed the new Sprint rom and i was extremely unhappy with it. To me it seemed to have a lot of gliches and as far as im concerned Vin's roms work a whole lot better than this one. So of course i had to flash back to Neodium V8. I think i will wait a while on this one cause i know someone will fix it up..

the purpose of the home screen is to show you as much info as possible and give you quick access to everything you like. To answer your question...yes, you can remove the quicklinks. If you just want to see your wallpaper and time when you use your phone, then you should have it automatically lock. That way it's on the lock screen when you pick it up and all you'll see is a picture of your choice and the time and date. Just a suggestion.

as for your twitter concern you can set it to refresh on its own in various time frames in the settings, but i just refresh it manually it saves watever juice is on the battery

Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)

Pooh434... I just reflashe the stock Sprint 6.5 rom and had tethering working in about 2 minutes so it definetely does work still.
Here is how I did it. First after fresh flash is to do the registry edits. Make sure you are also doint the edit in the cmgaridan folder too. The new key you have to create is a DWORD Flags=4. After you correctly do all the registry edits, install the modem fix cab and it should prompt to reboot.
After the reboot you will see the new internet connection sharing icon in the start menu. That's the one you want to use. For the first time you want to open this new ics and dont plug your phone into the usb yet. open ics and make sure you see Sprint in the connect to field. Select Sprint as well as usb as the method. dont connect to usb cable yet... Now press the connect soft key in lower left of your screen. you will see the error saying check usb connection. thats good now simply plug in the usb cable and wait for it to connect. If you get the htc connection pop-up choose the internet sharing option not activesync and not usb drive.
Another thing that may be causing your problem is that you dont have activesync drivers installed on your pc/laptop. if you have windows vista or windows 7, go to microsoft.com and find the latest download for Windows Mobile Device Center. That is very important for properly syncing your phone with usb. install windows mobile device center and i believe all the rest of my instructions should have you tethering again in no time.

By the way, I have the latest PRL and it does not cause me any tethering issues. I dont know why people believe this. At least for me it doesnt prevent tethering. One more thing Pooh434... i also installed the stealth tethering cab as the very last step and this is optional but i did it and can still tether in the method i explained. Please keep me posted on your results Pooh434. Good Luck friend!

Nope... The only thing I can think of is my clock, but all these people saying this this ROM is bad. It's know worst than the custom ROMs, an I've been thru a lot... A lot, but I wont say its the best I've had but its in the top three.

Hi new here, I just upgrade to wm 6.5 and now have no call history on the home screen and my missed calls and voicemails are in the taskbar on the top of the phone. Is there anyway to get the missed calls back or call history on the home screen? Now there is the calander where the call history is but theres a calander in the slider part on the bottom also. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Welcome to the site!

here is something I found on Pocketnow.com. the article says you can add this sense tab for call history. I haven't personally tried it but it may be worth giving it a go. good luck.

Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)

tx_dbs_tx,

You won't believe it, but I'm posting from my tethered PC right now. Thanks SO MUCH!!!! I got rid of the ICS cabs, rebooted. Did the reg edits, and rebooted. Nothing for an hour after numerous attempts to connect. So, I'm using the dial-up connection to research for my report (told you I'm in the sticks), and lo and behold my connection freezes (though it's saying I'm still connected). It usually does this if someone continuously calls while I'm on the net. Anyhow, I cup my forehead in frustration and pray for help (literally...lol). I decide to try the phone one last time before I go to bed and give up. I followed the steps you mentioned about connecting and I saw the phone show up in my PC's Connections list. I hit connect, and voila, it worked!!! I believe my error was connecting the USB cord to the PC too fast. I didn't load the stealth cab, since it appears that I don't have to. I'll see when the bill comes out on the 27th. What's truly funny is that I'm scared to disconnect for fear that I won't be able to once I do. Again, tx_dbs_tx, I really appreciate your help. The HTC Wifi Router works after first install with my sister's netbook. I prefer the USB sharing because it's more consistent though. BTW, I have active sync working. I used it along with Microsoft MyPhone to back-up my info for the update install. I'll keep you posted...

Good to hear you got tethering working Pooh434. Are you running windows xp or vista or win 7??? This makes a difference on how the os handles your tethering. Sometimes it can be tricky setting it up properly on your pc but once you do you might want to set it as your "default" connection because right now i'm sure your dial-up connection is set to default. personally i would set your sprint tethered modem as default that way it will be allowed to connect everytime. The next time you are connected by tether go into your internet connections and look for the sprint tethered modem connection and right click. Then you should see an option to "set as default". Also for general usage and nothing extremely heavy, you should be fine with Sprint and will not be raising flags by tethering.
