tx_dbs_tx,

I have Windows XP. I hesitantly disconnected last night, and was able to reconnect with no problem. And before I ran out for work this morning, I connected again to see if everything still works, because I had to reboot for the Microsoft MyPhone update. I was able to connect this morning too, so I should be just fine in the future. Now, once I find a cab to extend this poor battery life, I'll be all set. After the update, the phone doesn't like anything except the AC Wall charger. After a few minutes on the car charger (Sprint mfr), I'll get the "charging current not sufficient..." notice that everyone else is complaining about. I want to try the 16 quicklinks cab, but I don't want to mess up Sense. Do you use it? I installed the background for all pages cab when I had 6.1 and totally crashed my TouchFlo, so I'm not touching that cab again. LOL

Yes actually I do use the 16 quickolinks tweak cab. No issues with it at all for me on theofficial sprint 6.5 rom. You can find it on the first page of the tweaks for sprint 6.5 rom thread. As for the "charging insufficient" issue, I have never had that happen on my touch pro 2 with the new sprint 6.5 rom and I have 2 or 3 different branded car chargers. this phone requires the standard 5V DC. All of my motorola and HTC chargers work just fine. I would test your chargers for proper voltage or something. Looks like a perfect oportunity to take your phone into the Sprint store for a free warranty replacement. If they can duplicate the problem on a new charger. Sooo... how banged up is your phone again???

ProDriver77 03-26-2010 11:18 AM

Wirelessly posted (HTC Touch Pro2 (Sprint): Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)

I apologize if this has been answered already, but a search really didn't find me a definite answer:

Is there a RegEdit or other method to disable the G-Sensor Auto-Rotate in this ROM? I was able to in settings on Manilla 2.1, but I'm not seeing it here.

Thanks. The Auto-Rotation really drives me buggy sometimes.

Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)

Okay, I'll definately give the 16 quicklinks cab a try. I can always uninstall it. I've had my car charger for well over a year, so maybe it's just on the brink of death... I've only had this phone since Dec (a free new out of the box replacement for evercrashing TP1). I'm not a techie or gearhead to say the least, so I don't want to mess with this thing too much. I was too scared to flash a custom ROM, so I've been guilty of 6.5 envy for months. LOL :protest: I've got the basics, so once I get 16 quicklinks and a good battery manager, I'm all set. My phone isn't too banged up at all. I used a screen protector and it's only suffered three falls with very minor remnants on the surface. However, one of those falls occured in the snow without my knowledge for about five minutes, so I need not say more about the "beautiful bright color" on my moisture sensors. LOL

Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)

Recommendation for those still having problems with this rom update and syncing your contacts with Outlook.

To recap I have been having a BIG problem with this updated rom, any time I sync my phone with outlook 2007 or edit a contact on my phone my phone will freeze/ locks-up forcing me to soft reset. After spending many countless hours of trying to come up with a solution I have come to the conclusion that that there is something about my phone that this rom does not like. And that is when I decided to try for the first time SPB Mobile Shell and I must say “I LOVE IT”, as a matter of fact I am thankful that HTC’s shell w/sense 2.5 was causing such a problem on my phone because it gave me the opportunity to try SPB’s mobile shell. In my opinion, I think SPB if a far superior shell once you customize it to your liking. I am able to sync all my contact without any problem, and I also noticed that SPB does a better job managing my available free memory.

Pros.
1. Very customizable, much more so than HTC’s shell w/sense 2.5.
2. Very fast and user friendly interface: I feel I am able to operate and navigate my phone much more efficiently and quickly vs. HTC’s shell w/ sense 2.5. Having 2 profiles, a Professional profile and a Lifestyle profile, is especially useful; having both profiles enabled at the same time is my favorite feature.
3. Great memory utilization- at start-up I have 102 megs free and after a full days use I never go below 78 megs free vs. HTC sense 92 at start-up and I am very quickly down to 50 megs free with a little use.
4. Absolutely love how smart and well thought-out this program is, I love the Google search bar widget, and the birthday widget should keep me from forgetting those important birthdays and anniversaries, and hopefully keep me out of trouble.
5. I no longer have problems syncing to Outlook, nor have I had a single lockup using SPB mobile shell.
6. Free to try for 15 days, and easy to uninstall should you decide it is not for you. The cost is only $30 which I think is very reasonable for anyone who places any value on their time, after spending a full weekend trying unsuccessfully to get my phone to sync using HTC’s shell w/ sense 2.5, this is the best $30 I have spent in a longtime.

Cons
1. Customizing your phone becomes very addicting.
2. No widget for monitoring stocks.
3. Weather widget is not animated but does give more weather information. The weather widget cannot monitor more than 1 city’s weather at a time.

Ok this is weird but I just saw the call history at the end of my tabs on the taskbar but when I go to my settings and rearrange tabs it's not there for me to bring closer it's not even listed. But it's there and is at the end of the tabs so I guess that's good. Thanks, Rose

good to hear it worked out for you.

By they way has anyone tried installing SPB MS with the Mobilesense theme. Looks really good and is very customizable. Plus there is a cool sense to spb switcher that lets you go back and forth with the push of a button. figured I would post this here since in case anyone is interested in trying it out. Keep in mind spb cost money after a 15 day trial but many will attest that it's worth it. They update SPB quite often as well. Anyway here are the cabs and installation instructions.

1. Install SPB mobileshell 3.5.3. download the trial here: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/ **if you already an existing spb customer and have not upgraded to 3.5.3, just install the trial again to update your software. Please read about this on the site.
2. When it fires up go to settings>spb mobile shell>hit the right arrow key>exit shell.
3. Now you can use file explorer and go to device>windows>startup>and delete spb mobileshell.exe. (this is an optional step but doing this will ensure spb does not fire up after each reset.)
4. Install Darkness switcher cab, and soft reset. this gives you the program icon to switch back/forth. Thanks Darkness!
5. Next Install Mobilesense cab. (be sure spb is turned off before installing this) get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=604146
6. Follow the onscreen prompts for installation. I pick sense theme but you can change this after the fact. Once installed it will initiate and you can customize it your liking. I attached a couple sshots. I prefer to customize the lifestyle pages only but its up to you. good luck and thanks to Naong for this great theme.

Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)

Sense 2.5 Outlook Contacts Integration Workaround

Good news, after much rumination and tinkering, I now have my 6.5 upgrade running in an acceptable manner. The problem was that the large size of my Outlook Contacts file (3,500+), when accessed through Sense 2.5’s “People” tab, would bog the OS to the point of a total freeze. Accessing the file to add to my favorites list in the “People” tab OR searching “All Contacts” from within that tab, caused havoc. Interestingly, when running the phone in “Titanium only” mode everything worked fine, as did everything else in HTC’s otherwise delightful UI.

With this in mind, I removed the “People” tab from the Sense UI task bar and installed instead “Contacts” as a home page quick link. Problem solved. Apparently, the “Contacts” program accesses these files directly w/o the involvement of Sense. Consequently, phone now runs smoothly and I can revel in the knowledge that my days of going mano-a-mano with that dreadful Windows interface are over!

Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)

ok the sprint upgrade has several problems:

1 there has been a dramatic change in the native kernal which may cause some apps not to work correctly like soft reset programs and such

2 the change in some of the drivers cause a conflict between opera and youtube playback : open m.youtube.com in opera and try to play a video using the standard player, when you finally get to the youtube app playback will not happen

3 the change in the drivers cause SOD (sleep of death) issues, this may be a result of using an unlocked radio with the newer drivers but nonetheless it does happen

4 the responsiveness of sense will be slowed down considerably when using older parts with the newer parts : there have been some changes in sense since the GSM rhodium sense 2.5 was released so using Maxmanila or cookie may cause problems also you will have to keep in mind that sense 2.5 is an OS overlay meaning that you will have to treat it like windows is the host OS and sense is the guest like running windows 98 inside of vista .... you can do it but that dont mean everything is gonna work 100%

5 overall the speed of the upgrade is slow, its not the version of the OS but the OEM tweaks that was applied to it

most of the chefs that are with SPCS want to use the SPCS upgrade as a base for projects and they may have taken time to fix each of these issues (I know it took me some time to match everything up right) but I would advise people to use a custom ROM and make complaints to Sprint about this upgrade .... IT WAS NOT GOOD.

[EDIT]
Never mind! I cranked up Visual Kitchen, broke down the stock rom and found the user agent in the OperatorPkg rgu file. For anyone needing it in the future, it is: "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380"
[ENDEDIT]

Would someone mind opening up Opera, browsing to opera:config, expanding the User Prefs section and pasting into a reply the Custom User-Agent string that comes with the stock Sprint WM 6.5 release please? I've flashed a new ROM and wiped it out and don't want to have to flash back to stock just to get it.

Thanks!

anybody find the solution to these?

also i did some searches for the error code, and the solutions are all about people who have internet. The main reason to stop.

Also, I dont want to install any cabs for the battery and time on the status bar issue. I figure there is some registry edit for it?

I also wanted to know if the mode of operation menu for 1x only use has been found.

1) the kernel and drivers are based closely on the USC, infact many of the drivers are the same, i have based my latest rom on this and so has mightymike. I have no issues with any apps i have installed. Neither have my testers.

I doubt that its the kernel and drivers causing this.

2) Again the drivers and kernel have nothing to do with this bug, Im on full Sprint drivers and xip/kernel and dont have this issue. its just bugs in the rom its self it was compiled poorly there are many bugs.

3) for the third time the drivers have nothing to do with this. I dont have this issue either, been running these drivers since the rom dropped in my rom. However i did get the sleep of death on the sprint rom when i flashed it. Its the radio by the way. The older VZW radio used to cause random sleep of death as well.

4) the sprint manila was compiled for them. it is junk, don't bother with it.

5) i can agree 100% Smart chefs will only take the kernel, drivers and a handful of packages. most of it is utter crap.

Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)

+1 to what Mr. X said. I also use the Sprint drivers and kernel in one of my ROMs, and there is no bad effect but maybe the effect of a little more smoothness all around, the drivers and kernel are completely fine. As far as the manila compiled for them, it is pretty much the exact same except a few tweaks to the people and messaging tabs, and the addition of sprint nav and tv tabs as the two versions of 2012 (sprint and what most chefs use) were compiled less than 24 hours apart. Sprint just threw the update together quickly without testing for long and applying appropriate fixes hence some of the issues people have and some of the cabs you have to install to fix things.

Using 90% base of GSM is just... careless as a CDMA Chef! Period.

Sorry, but i'll put my ROM down against any others and show you guys how useful the Sprint ROM can be.

Sorry, but i'll put my ROM down against any others and show you guys how useful the Sprint ROM can be.

IMO

yeah,......and u forgot about all those native gsm dialers and lack of supporting ## codes.

Dude I've been quiet lately because I been using this ROM and trust me after tearing it apart it has small issues that are due to its "Newer" kernal and those certain newer drivers, after changing out some of the drivers I don't have any issues anymore .... even the SPCS manila works just like the GSM manila if not better I used this with the new SPCS radio and still got SOD's and lockup's and non-functioning browsers plug-ins ..... funny thing is that I ran this without any add-on's
