Hello everyone, thanks for your nice job. I am from Uzbekistan, bought HTC TP2 Sprint in US, dual band (CDMA/GSM), registered CDMA in our local service provider.
Unfortunately, every time after soft reset HANDS FREE App request to register, and obviously can not do that. Also, Sprint data call is pre-installed, and every time I am using local data provider it first starts Device Configuration, obviously can not do that with later error code 1012.
I have 3 questions:
1) how to bypass Hands Free Activation
2) how to bypass Device Configuration
3) how to remove Sprint fixed data modem dial

i think your best bet would just be to flash a custom rom, but I'll try to help you out.
1. delete LanuchOMC in registry (HKLM/services)
2. not sure

Duplicate emails anyone?

Alright, I've been looking through this thread and others 'till my eyes have gone blurry and haven't seen anything on this specific problem (yes, I did a search). So, if I missed it, I apologize in advance. Feel free to call me a newb, moron, whatever. I'll take it.

Here's the problem. I just upgraded my Sprint TP2 to WinMo 6.5, set up my gmail account on the homescreen email tab and now it won't stop downloading the same email over and over and over and over and... (you get the idea). Everytime the email shows up, I tap the MENU button and select DELETE MESSAGE. A few minutes later it shows up again. Arrgghh! It's doing this for all emails that I delete but not the ones that I simply open, read, and close out.

Here's my current setup:
-Sprint TP2 w/ stock WinMo 6.5 ROM
-HTC X-button.cab
-HTC_Taskmanager.cab
-2.5 wvga clock fix.cab

Again, if I missed a previous discussion on this I apologize. If there's a CAB to fix this, I'd love to have a go at it.

EDIT - Just found out that the emails are not being deleted from the gmail server/account. Anyone know how to actually get the DELETE MESSAGE function to work? It worked fine in 6.1.

OMG That is happening to me too! But I am getting duplicates on my regular insight mail too which is my home email. I have like 3 addresses and I see stuff popping up again and again. But on GMail it pops up over and over alot more.. It's weird but I thought it was just a wrong setting..

From your Inbox:

Menu>Tools>Options>(Select E-Mail Account)>Send/Receive Schedule>Advanced Settings

In the drop-down box marked "When Deleting Messages:", select "Delete them off the server" as opposed to "Move to server trash".

So far this has worked for me, as my wife and I were having the same issues as well after upgrading from WM 6.1 to 6.5.

As for GMail, I have that set up to sync in Exchange and so far have not had issues of e-mails magically "reappearing".

Thanks for reposting this... Now is there a way to make the User information screen show up when the phone is turned on. On WM6.1 the screen would show when powered on, before going to the unlock screen.

My gmail and yahoo were set to send to trash not delete from server. But all my home Insight emails said delete from server and I still get dups from there some. But thanks,

No problem. I'm noticing some occasional repeats, but not nearly as bad after applying the steps I listed above.

Well I don't get that much email on my gmail account but one every so often this news letter or if someone sybscribes to my You Tube i get one but they were coming over and over. Guess I could send myself a test to see but just now I had like 5 or 6 repeats from my home insight pop3. Now that I have set not on my phone but on my Incredimail on my home computer to stay on server for 2 days could that be why? Cause of how it's set on my home pC and not my phone. I don't know but it's no big deal. Could be worse like when I had 6.1 and Touch Flo wouldn't load and would hang and I had to hard reset my phone 3 times. I love 6.5

Hmmm...interesting.

Yahoo is the only mail server I've had the issue with. Sometimes though I log on from my PC and delete from there just to "wake up" things.

I don't think I've had it happen from Yahoo now that I think about it. That's weird! I delete from Yahoo and it would go to this deleted folder on Yahoo.. But I had gmail and yahoo set to send to trash and I changed it earlier to delete off server. My insight home emails they already said delete from server on my phone. And tonight I got the same 7 emails 3 times already.. It's the email I use for facebook and when I get messages. And I have facebook set up with my phone so maybe tyhat has something to do with it too I don't know.

I set up my Windows Live hotmail account through the Windows Live app on the phone. But Im having a serious problem receiving emails. I have it set to send me alerts upon receiving of every email and it's not doing that. It will randomly dump 20 messages to my phone at once. For example, it did that today around 4pm. When I checked my emails, I had messages that were sent to me as early as 8am. I really need to find a fix for this. It wont sync right even though went into Windows Live and set the specified the delivery method of my emails under the sync options???

OK popular chefs I have been reading some of your threads and noticed that most of your ROM consist of this SPCS ROM now at first you all said "Oh well it works for me, yada yada" but now I am seeing that the same issues that are in the SPCS ROM are occuring in your ROMs, lol maybe now we can stop the jock riding and sit back and fix this?

Does anyone know how to set thumbnails for web shortcuts? I found the thumbnail pictures in My Device\Windows\Thumbnail and each site has its own .jpg thumbnail with a really weird name like {05156AE6-8AF2-040B-902B-F72D30A0477D}.jpg. I tried deleting that file and renaming the .jpg I wanted to use in its place to the same thing, but my phone is still using the old picture as the thumbnail.

Has the Sprint 6.5 release improved the functioning of Voice Command msvc? Does it now give announcements over bluetooth instead of coming through the speaker? I have searched for an answer but not found it. Thanks to anyone who can answer.:protest:

I don't know before I had mine set to announce my texts and it would say the subject of emails but now it's not doing it. I have it set right and she announced today battery low. But I can't get her to announce my texts like before. I don't like it to be set to announce all the time but sometimes I do. And I couldn't remember before if it came through the headset or not but if it does now let me know.

I occaisionally get announcements, but they are always through the speaker, even though I have it set to Bluetooth only, except for low battery. I am still on the stock rom, and was going to switch to 6.5 if this problem had been corrected. When I had the lowly Touch Pro, this feature worked great, but it stopped working, and I had to replace it. I assume that it has not been corrected on the official Sprint 6.5 release, right?

no you dont. Sim unlocked is good, but I dont think even that is required.

I am having issues with it not downloading. Everytime I get into the setup, it gives me an error saying that my phone is not connected to the computer...but it is. It is connected to Sync, but once it starts the download, it disconnects from the sync and says it cannot find the device. Please check your usb cord and make sure its connected.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Hey, I am thinking of installing the new Official Sprint 6.5 ROM. I have been using custom Roms for the last few months. I currently am using JD's 2.5 Sense Rom - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=113219.

My question is if I have a custom Rom on my phone is there anything special I have to do to install the Official Rom. In the past I think I've seen that you have to do some steps to go "back to Stock Roms'. Is this true or do I just install the official ROM just like the Custom Roms?

no steps needed. just flash the rom then do a clear storage (hard reset) like normal.

just use winrar or similar zip program and extract the exe and you'll get the nbh

Alright. So I dont have to worry about 'Relocking the phone'? I've gone through the process of unlocking and installing custom ROM. Sorry but I cant find the definite answer. I just dont want to bring the phone back to Sprint at some point and them not accept my phone or break the warranty. So while my phone is custom Romed or 'unlocked' I can just download the Official Sprint 6.5 TP2 ROM and install that the same way I would install the custom ROMs, and I should be good? No relocking or anything necessary?

Please let me know. Also the more detail the better. I really dont know the reverse process or too many terms. Thanks.

you only have to relock if you are bringing it in or sending it in to sprint.

Okay, can you only put the stock ROM and then relock? Or can the phone be Relocked with a custom ROM. For example, JD's Roms.

My main question. If I Relock, then install the Official 6.5 ROM of this thread, will I be good to bring it back to sprint? Sorry for all the questions, just tryna make sure I'm good to bring it to sprint.

If you are going to relock a phone, always relock it after flashing the stock rom.

Has anyone found a way to disable HTC messaging? If not maybe speed it up? Or can recommend a custom ROM that just doesn't include it?

The sprint OFFICIAL TP2 rom update is by far the WORST ever.. it slows down the phone and is missing a lot of things and has a lot of bugs......... HOWEVER... run the 6/20 mighty which uses the official sprint and other updated roms and add COOKIES HOME TAB and LOCK SCREEN MOD (and a few others) and the phone is awesome!

If my TP2 is locked, can I update with this ROM or do I have to unlock my TP2 first?
