I know Sprint isn't perfect and there will always be issues with any OS. But aside from me wishing this was a later build, 6.5.3 at least, I think I will keep this one around for a while and see if it grows on me. I am pretty impressed with the speed so far. oh yeah, and thanks to whoever post the mirror that i dl'ed from because HTC's server was pretty much tapped out by the time i got off work on the 19th. I was getting like 5kb/s.

Another thing Im happy about is that I finally figured out how to get Pandora running. Thats my fav app.

But I do have one more thing, I was receiving text messages from a number that wasnt programed in my phone yet. I went and programmed the name and number in contacts. However, after programing name and number, when I go to view this person text messages, only their phone number shows up. No name?

NOTE: Im also going to post this as a general question on TPII general thread....But if you guys can help me on this thread, that would be great. Thanks.

Glad I could help. Your other problem is somewhat similar to mine. I believe this is a bug that has gone back since WinMo introduced threaded SMS. To fix this, have the person send you a text but make sure that you have the name/number already programmed. Once you receive the text, the thread should have the correct name displayed.

Videos that played fine in 6.1 play in 6.5 but without sound.

DVD movies & tv shows, but no sound. I use either the stock photos & videos tab or Windows Media. But now, no sound, just static.

Videos that play with sound are in resolution 624x272 for some reason videos with other resolutions don't have sound!?! AGAIN ALL THESES WORK PERFECTLY ON 6.1

Please find a solution for me. WHY??

so far......me likes
i do miss the x actually closing out the programs...i think that was just silly to change...
but maybe there was a valid reason that i just don't know about..
and i know i could tweak it.... but i'm trying not to do any customization to the phone if it isn't necessary...so we'll c how long i last
i also miss my call history on the home screen....but i guess i'll learn to deal with that also

Installed the Sprint Stock 6.5 ROM (upgrading from Stock 6.1 ROM) and I have 2 issues. (1) I was able to USB tether via ICS and WModem Fix cab and wifi tether via HTC WifiSharing cab before (no registry edits) with no problem. After installing the update, I cannot tether with either. I don't want to use PdaNet because I've read it is not as consistent as the cabs. I live in a rural area where broadband is almost non-existent and was excited that the cab worked on 6.1. The ICS cab downloads and creates a Sprint option, but the PC will not connect to the network. After clicking connect, the status changes to "check usb cable" and just stays there. Nothing is wrong with the cable, because Active Sync works fine. I installed Mr. X Tethering Tracking Hotfix cab, and it didn't help. I installed Calkulin's Tethering Hotfix cab, and it didn't work either. I even downloaded Merlin (Marlin) registry editor & attempted my first registry edit following Boo Boo's instructions, and that didn't work. Someone please tell me what the problem could be. And, no, I don't get the 67 error. I have an active data connection, but the tethering just won't work. Should I reflash the 6.5 ROM to clear the cabs and registry edits (remove programs doesn't remove some of these cabs)?

(2) Problem on 6.1 and now 6.5. Seems I have a ghost text message. My Inbox folder path is showing 1 unread text message, though, there isn't one. Against my own will, I even cleared out my text folder (in, out, draft, sent & deleted), and it still shows. Any suggestions on this as well? Besides those two issues, I like the 6.5 update.

Q_Q, that's the original ICS cab that I used. I had it stored on my SD Card, and just re-installed it after flashing the new 6.5 ROM onto the phone. It does not work now. There are so many cabs out, and then's there's the reg edit technique. Which cab includes the reg edit? Like I said, on the 6.1 I just installed Mighty Mike's ICS cab (not reg edits) and had no problem at all.

For anyone's who flashed to the new stock Sprint Stock 6.5 ROM and "can tether", what were the absolute steps in order that you did to enable stealth tethering again? I know that by mixing the cabs and the reg edits trying to get this to work is probably part of my problem. I'm going to re-flash the Sprint Stock 6.5 ROM (for a clean start), so I need to know exactly what steps to take. Thanks.

I have noticed the same problem with some videos on stock 6.5 - not sure what is causing this problem. Some videos work fine (with audio) - some have no audio (video is fine)

For anyone having issues with hotmail, just reinstall the WindowsLive cab. I installed it from the Marketplace, but you can also get it here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...ng=en#filelist

I got the problem where it would pop open Opera and once I did this everything worked fine.

Is it possible to make sprint rom into a rhodimg file to boot from sd card? like all the custom roms can be done.

yup just like any other NBH file, just extract the exe file the sprint ROM came in (7zip or WinRAR can do it just fine)

find the RUU_Signed.nbh file and rename it Rhodimg.nbh and put to SD card

done

I just downloaded the new SPRINT wm 6.5 ROM and I love it except for one thing.........My battery doesnt last a whole day!! Does anyone have a fix or a cab file that I can download to overcome this issue??

First, I love the rom overall. It is way better than the original stock rom, and for me, the best stock rom I've seen Sprint release on any of the phones I've had, which are quite a few (I'm a phone junkie and change every year thanks to the Premier status option).

I do have one question: I missed an alarm yesterday afternoon, and fortunately I was already awake, just dozing in my recliner. I've noticed when the screen is turned off with the top button, when you wake it back up with the same button the clock suddenly starts to catch up to the actual current time. Currently I have the clock cab fix installed but with it the alarm never sounded. Any one else use the alarm? It reminds me of the HTC Mogul and the complaints early on with it and missing alarms.

been using this rom for 2 days now & i must say i like it! max-manila works perfect with it, & its better than the custom roms i used because i dont have 2 combine a bunch of cabs & reg edits 2 make it sprint specific. the topaz notification cab that i used on 6.1 also works on this rom which is a major plus 4 me.

does anyone out there have a cab file where a user can download a RESET BUTTON APP onto your phone instead of having to take off the back cover all the time to perform a soft reset?

all i did was install the ICS_and_WModem_Fix and restarted than when i connect to the pc i choose the storage option, not internet sharing or active sync options. Next i open start menu and go to internet sharing and open the program. Than choose sprint instead of phone as a modem and than hit connect. i also use this cab HTC Wi-Fi Sharing for sharing over wifi i have attached both cabs i use. i hope this helps you

I use quickmenu (as a taskmgr too), but I did drill a small hole in my cover for this reason too. :)
on stock rom's the first cab or tweak needed is to kill the cmguardian. I have made some cabs to do this, see my sig. then any tweaks you apply after will survive soft resets. :)

did you check the outlook folder in messeging? there is always a new welcome email in there.

Figured I would throw my two cents in. This Stock Update is much better than I anticiapted. Hats off to Sprint on this on. Much better than the VZW Update. Oh.... how they boasted of there update to 6.5. Now look at them. Waiting for Sense 2.5.. ahahahaha....

Can I second this? I too am stuck using Titanium (fast, but bland) while I wait for one of the technomages here :salute: to enlighten us how to get Sense 2.5 to "play nice" with the Outlook 2007 address book. (presently causing 2.5 to freeze when accessed)

I would like to remove NFL and NextelCup also. Opera 10 came out 4 days before this was released as a non-beta version. easy download.

Bing's newest version sucks, IMHO.
No local gas prices, and many of the other features I liked on the Sept. release of Bing are gone. The 'Live Search' on here [Bing, in reality] is actually a newer version than the cab of Bing I had from mid-Sept.

That hasn't been my experience. With moderate use I am still at about 70% at the end of the day. Battery life for me has been as good or better than the best Custom ROMS I've used, and way better than the Stock Sprint 6.1.

The act of flashing and reinstalling programs uses LOTS of battery. So, the day you flash your battery will go dead pretty fast. If you've given it a full charge and it still runs down to fast you should look at what's you've got running.

Just to clarify, you actually have 9 Big Buttons on the home page. You can only see three until you 'flip' them up. then the other 6 appear.

Once you 'flip' them up, you can press 'menu' on the bottom right, select "Remove Quick Links" and then tap the ones you wish to remove. Click "done" on the bottom left when you are finished. Now that you have some empty tabs, you can click them and add a Program. After selecting Add Program, you can then slide up/down the program list until you find the right one and select it. Press "done" when you are finished, or all the blocks are full.

Jadoe05 is referring to the 16-tab cab or the Cookies Home Page cabs that were bounced around a LOT in this thread.

I added the 16 tab and it meets my needs: for now!:mrgreen:

It does on my phone. I wish I could remember which tab I went into to change this feature, but I know my phone behaved as you are describing until I played a LOT and found some function that allowed it to go Landscape for wallpaper, or Wallpaper for All tabs. Something like that.

The wallpaper changes for me, but I am only using stock wallpaper.

Edit: I went into Settings/All Settings//Today/
There, on the Appearance tab, I selected an image for my background by browsing, and clicked "Use this picture as the background". then that image was behind all of my non-Sense UI webpages, and in both landscape/standard.

At least, I think this did it. It may have been some other option I pursued. HOWEVER, I have yet to edit the registry, so this function is available somewhere in the stock ROM settings.

So, now I have a smaller contact list on my phone of people I wish to talk to and can reach the people I need to when I want to. And I do not have 3000 addresses clogging the system resources. I only have around 220 personal contacts instead.

HOWEVER, I do not call more than 10 colleagues at work on a regular [more than once a month] basis, and those 10 are in my personal computer contact lists.

Not to be a smart*@$ [it is natural, unfortunately], but

Maybe, just maybe, it is your theme and custom taskbar that don't play well with the stock rom? Just a thought. :joker:
