Still diggin your ROM's, Chris. Had a couple employees load'em up, too, and things are going great. Is tonight's update just Marketplace, ringtones, and wallpapers? Asking because it may be an easy decision to just stay with the 3/2/10 if that is all. Thanks for all the hard work, Chris. Hit the thanks a second time since I loaded the 2/24 (then a few others in between) and the 3/2. The stability is incredible!

Thank you for the great rom. I am currently using 2.24.10. This is the first rom I have flashed and have been very pleased with it. I did have a few questions/observations if you have the time.
  • Did WM 6.5 do away with the full keyboard? I used the ctrl and the shift keys to select certain file or an entire group of file to move, copy, etc.
  • Messaging – I have notice when typing a name in the “To” box all the contact number for the person populates. There is no way to determine what is a mobile, business or fax number unless you remember.
  • Text size– Is there anyway to increase the size of the icon text, contact number text, etc for the people with less than perfect vision? The text tab in the screen setting does not affect any of these.
  • Is battery life substantially less with WM 6.5 than 6.1? I have seen a significant difference. Any suggestion to increase battery life would be greatly appreciated.
  • Is there a good program to backup contact ring tone association? My companies exchange server backs everything up through active sync except for the contact ring tone association.
Again thanks for the great rom and any suggestion you have.

To answer your questions:
-WM 6.5 and the new HTC Scroll have significantly changed how we were used to using our devices for copy/paste as well as multiple select functions, etc. This is unfortunately just the way it is but third party apps can help us out (e.g. Total Commander has multiple select for copy/paste)
-The messaging contacts drop down does not give you an indication on what number you are inserting into a message which is also unfortunately part of WM.
-The text size of icons in the start menu CAN be changed by replacing or editing the StartMenu_GridScene.cpr files in the Windows directory.
-Battery life is dependant on MANY factors and is impacted by how you use your phone as well. Programs such as GPS, WiFi, Opera, Youtube are all memory intense programs that will decrease battery life. You can fight back by making sure that settings such as Push Internet is disabled, set your backlight on auto dim, disable any automatic data sending/receiving such as weather and e-mail. I am able to go an entire day without recharing with moderate use.
-I have included Sprite Backup in the second post which I highly recommend for a complete phone backup. It will back up every aspect of the phone from soup to nuts and it has saved me many times. It is free for 10 days but WELL worth the money.

Yes tonight's addition is just an updated Marketplace, and the addition of the OEM Ringtones & Wallpapers. Thanks for the positive comments!

Also, I wanted to point out that when I click on your "Donate" button, all that happens is a new page opens with only the Donate graphic on it, but no PayPal link. Yes, I will be contributing to your ROM developement!

Chris, a few questions here (I'm really digging your rom & giving it a good test drive, :-));
1. How can I map/change the right soft button to read "Lock" instead of "camera" as it does now?
2. If I use Total Commander to remove an icon from the Start/Programs menu, how do I access the program after that (I couldn't find a way to access the programs aftr I removed the icons)?
3. Can I disable Push Internet in Opera 9.5, if so, how do I do that? And will Opera Mobile 10 really mess up your rom, or is it just the lack of Push Internet?
Sorry if these questions have been asked somewhere before, I looked for them and couldn't find them.
Thanks for your time and all the hard work you put in your roms!!!

The "Camera" button I am talking about is on the Home/Today screen (sorry, I forgot to clarify that).

Use the CAB below.

Just do a search for changing the Right soft key. I belive that you will have to edit the registry under HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila

If you removed the icon (.lnk file) you would have to go into file explorer or Total Commander and run the .exe file for it. You don't have to "remove" icons as you can simply "move" them with Total Commander to whatever folder that you want.

Install the cab below to disable push internet. Opera 10 will not "mess up" the ROM however you may not be able to use Sprint specific sites such as Music & Home Page correctly with it. If you have both versions installed, just use 9.5 when you want to use Sprint Music Store / Sprint Home Page, etc.

Here is a cab file that I used to fix the clock issue on my phone (I didn't create the cab file, I downloaded it from this site somewhere). The clock flips when it should. Hope it works for you.

I do not understand what you mean by "turn it off." The disable clock animation CAB posted on the last page as well as by Yellowman1 above this message will only disable the 1 hour, 2 minute flip animation when returning to the home screen or tapping the task manager. The clock will still flip numbers as minutes and hours pass. The 1 hour, 2 minutes animation is not an "issue" it is the standard animation HTC included with Sense 2.1 Manila.

I've been using this ROM for a couple of days and I really like. I ran into a few issues. S2U2 doesn't play nice with this version of Sense. As soon as I unlock my phone S2U2 locks again. A few other people have previously reported this, now I know what they are talking about. S2U2 has a setting to not lock TF3D, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the program.

It's not a big deal for me since I don't run Sense. I just have to remember the issue exists if I ever use it.

One other thing, I didn't see any setting where I can input my owner information. Am I missing it or was it left out? I need to enter this for a few programs I use. This problem also occured with some of Juicy's earlier builds. Fortunately someone wrote a cab to add it, so again it's not a big deal.

I made this splash screen awhile back. I thought I had posted it in my Windows Splash Screen thread, but I guess I never got around to it. I think it goes well with the theme of the ROM.

Chris, I'm digging your rom, very stable (installed it on my wife's TP2). I'm looking to move from MM to your rom for myself but the deal breaker (for me) so far is the "Camera" right soft key button on the Today screen of HTC Sense. I need to map that to Lock (I have big fingers, I keep taking pictures by accident). I followed your directions in your PM (I even PM-ed MM & he gave me the same directions), but the problem is that I can’t find the file "DeviceLock.exe" in your rom (I have searched using Resco, Total Commander, PHM, Advanced Configuration, no success). Just to be sure that I wasn't looking for something that didn't exist, I flashed back to MM, searched with Resco and I found the file in MM's rom. My question is how do I map the "Camera" right soft key at HTC Sense Today screen to "Lock"? You have the left soft key at the Start menu screen mapped to "Lock" (which is good, I like that), is there a way for me to map my right soft key on the Today screen to that button? (either way is fine with me, I just want to be able to lock my phone from Today's screen in Sense).

Thanks for your time.

For some reason this was left out by Microsoft. I have created a CAB which will add back Owner Information to the Settings>Personal Tab

Made a custom CAB for you. This will convert your manila home screen right softkey to "Lock" and will enable the lock function. Enjoy!

Tried to send video MMS. screen goes all wonky typing in the recipient name. typing in the phone number is no problem. I think the issues is with the name trying to be displayed at the bottom of the screen while typing. didn't have this issue with pictures just video.

Just updated to this ROM and love it so far. Anyone having a problem with the SMS notification sound? It will only play the first not of the default Alert-Glass1 or any of the others. If I go back to the home screen it will play the full alert. I have hard rest several times and still have the problem. ANy ideas?

I did not see this issue when creating a video MMS from both the messaging tab as well as directly through Arcsoft, nor through sending a video message through Album application. Perhaps something you installed on your phone is causing the conflict.

I verified that I can change to any available sound for notifications of text messages, as well as any other notification.

***As previously stated guys, before posting a problem, ensure you havent installed anything which would possibly cause a conflict and as last resort, hard reset and see if the problem persists. Also, be very specific when posting an issue/bug as explanations like "it doesn't work" gives me no help for finding a fix.

When you install S2U2 it creates a folder in your Start Menu. You should see a Settings icon in there.

First, I don't use Sense. I really don't like it that much. I'm still running UltimateLaunch. I've been using it since my Mogul days. That's what I'm used to and it does the job for me.

Second, I use S2U2 as my Home screen. It displays all the info I need, time, date, appointments, notifications, weather... Plus I can view all my tasks, last email and text without unlocking the phone. It has full screen caller id. It has an exception list so I can choose which programs keep running when the phone is locked. And I can customize the crap out of it (see the link in my signature for some of my S2U2 themes).

Some notes concerning S2U2:

1. S2U2 is a third party application therefore I cannot gurantee its compatibility in any way.

2. Their website has a FAQ's section which addresses some of the problems that a few of you have mentioned. FAQ's about S2U2 can be read here: http://67.43.3.117/~acs2co/S2U2-faq.html

I performed a sync of my outlook e-mail account and could not replicate your problem. Check your e-mail settings and server settings within Outlook.

Really enjoying this ROM. Spectacular work Chris.

Request from anyone in the thread that knows - I get very little signal in my office at work. The 5 bar meter shows no bars. The Sprint 7 bar meter gives me one or 2. I realize this is simply aesthetics, but I like to see a bar or two - what can I say.

After searching quite a bit, I see there is a Sprint provisioning cab that floats around MM's thread to address this. OK to install that or is there a simpler was to make the change? I assume replacing the CDMA_RSSI_PPC.dll would be an option if I had the correct one.

You can get the old 7 bar Sprint style signal strength indicator by editing the following registry entry:

[HKCU\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction\CDMA] "SignalStrengthLevel"= dword:0x000005 <---- CHANGE 5 TO 7
