Hey, Chris. Thanks alot for your work. Does it matter that the update from and to versions read the same during the flash?

No not at all. If you go to Start>Settings>All settings>System>Device Information you will see the ROM date is today's date and is always updated when there is a new release.

Still restoring the 5k contacts and 3k exchange emails. It was actually during the actual flash when it say "Current ROM" and "New ROM" or something like that. Isn't it 1.21.651.3 or something? Anyway, both the numbers were the same.

matt

Edit: finished the restore and the system info has the correct date. Is the ROM version always the same number?

As previously stated, the ROM version number I kept the same. I only changed the ROM date so that users know they have the most recent update.

I'm sorry I missed that in the previous post. It really doesn't matter, just curious. Again, nice job. I'm surprised your ROM is not more popular. It is missing the quirkiness and instability most of the others have. Have you ever produced a "Sprint Authorized" custome Enterprise ROM with third party software embedded?

Really wish I had stumbled on this ROM before last week. Great stuff. Everyone tired of waiting on Sprint should be getting this. Either that or Sprint should hire you Chris. :)

Just an FYI..the first few people who downloaded may have to edit the following reg entry:

[HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila] "Weather.AutoDownloadInterval" dword:0X0000060

I noticed a misspelling in download. This has been corrected and reposted as of 9:35PM EST so if you downloaded after that you should be fine.

I noticed a spelling error in the word download. This has been corrected and reposted as of 9:35PM EST so if you downloaded after that you are fine. This registry entry has to do with the weather auto-updating when you have it set to automatically download weather data. If you need a registry editor, use the one in the Sprint Lovers Cab Pack in the second post.

Hope you guys like the ROM! :)

Make sure that the Wi-Fi icon has two little arrows going back and forth. (This signifies an active connection. If you do not have this, you are not within range or not connected to a Wi-Fi network) Also make sure that you have the proper password entered if you're connecting to a secure network.

Updated with the early release last night. manually edited the reg to correct the typo. Seems to be wicked stable. only installed sprint lovers cab. the only issue i have found (and this was with the older versions as well) is the volume doesn't show on the left side of the screen while using media player. What I mean by this is with the stock sprint ROM when using media player, if you use the hardware button on the side of the phone to adjust the volume (not the up/down arrows or the screen buttons) there is an indicator on the left side of the screen to show how high or low the volume is. The 6.5 ROM's don't have this only a blank black box shows up where the indicator would be. Its not really a huge deal considering how awesome the rest of this ROM is. Thanks again!!!!!

Im not sure what you see as far as a volume icon, but I get the standard volume overlay box with green bar when increasing/decreasing volume within Windows Media Player. See Photo below.

Didn't even realize it did this. This is way cooler than the stock ROM with the white bars on the side! This looks just like on the hero. I had to hurry and try it for myself. Nice touch chris!

The image you posted looks like a screen cap of your desktop.

This may be an ignorant question, but how do I increase the font size of the icons in the Start menu? I have tried in the options in Advanced Config, but they don't work.

To make the font size bigger in the start menu items you will need to edit the following items:

StartMenu_GridScene_480x800.cpr
StartMenu_GridScene_800x480.cpr

They are located in the \Windows directory.

***OR, you can install this CAB in which I have already increased it for you. :)

Your custom taskbar is probably the culprit as it most likely includes a modified HTCVolumeControl.dll.

Just installed this as my first ever ROM, like it so far, we'll see how it goes!

The install process was a pain in the ass, but I got it working right after a few freakouts. :)

Gonna flash this Rom and test it out. Looks really good and I do love that its all Sprint. Have you considered making a FULL DUSK Theme Sprint Rom like "Xpressdusk" did with his Verizon Rom? If not,...where can I get the FULL dusk theme for your Rom? Looking foward to trying out your Rom!!! Excellent work by the way! :headbang:

New Rom is running smooth. No problems so far. Activesync is fine and manila is running smooth. I did have the weather animation freeze on me once (phone didn't freeze, just the cloudy animation). I wasn't able to replicate it though.

My opera has been kinda quirky - sometimes when I log into FaceBook it won't accept my login, just keeps prompting me to do it again and again? odd. That went on for about 3 hours, then I turned it off and tried again today with no issues.

It does kinda bog down a little bit at times, and battery use seems intense with just texting and internet browsing. But we'll see. I may not have installed it right, lol.

is there a battery app / booster included in this ROM, and if not, can we add one in or do you have it tuned effectively as is? I remember in the "Sprint Tweaks" package i had on the stock ROM before, it had a good battery app and seemed to improve the life and recharge time significantly.

Thanks Chris. great work so far. and keep in mind i have no idea what i'm really talking about, major n00b to flashing my phone. :)

Youtube app still doesn't like landscape with the keypad out. I had my keypad slid out and went to adjust the volume in the video I was watching. The volume wouldn't adjust. So I closed the device and hit the volume and it gave me the onscreen volume bar. Slid out my keyboard and tried it again. No response. This time my youtube app became unresponsive. The video continued to play but I had no on screen controls and I couldn't exit the program.

Ok, this problem has something to do with the onscreen volume control you're using chris. When I tried the same thing in wmp, it didn't adjust the device volume but it took over the volume of wmp itself and I couldn't control the device volume at all. So it had a different control in landscape with the keyboard out then it had in portrait.

So far this Rom has performed to my expectations. U-tube is working fine, sms/mms is all good, speed is rediculously fast. Anyone having a battery drain...might be from bluetooth...if it is...here you go:

Keep up the great work...I'm hooked on this Rom's performance!

Battery is consumed most by Opera and other data intensive programs (Wi-Fi, Youtube, TV etc.) There are several steps you can take to conserve battery life just by changing the settings within your phone.

Curious if everyone is running the 1.96.00WF radio that comes with the ROM. I am averaging 2 bars where my wife's stock TP2 is getting full signal. Makes me think I need to change radios but I am curious if anyone else has seen this and/or changed radios.

Custom rom taskbar dlls have erroneous or conservative signal bar strength indicators...you and your wife are getting the same signal your phone is just showing it as weaker...You are good to go unless you are noticing a worse connection or dropped calls, then you might have to change radios. Hope this explained it.

Not sure where you got your information from, but I show the same signal strength on both stock Sprint as well as my ROM.

That is what I have gathered from the multiple rom threads that I have drudged through. You can find it in vins thread or any other thread where a custom tasbar has been used. Yours could be stock for all I know, I was just trying to give the guy an explanation on why his two phones have different signal strengths. Feel free to explain his issue...this forum is yours:mrgreen:

Could be a hardware difference. She just got hers and I have had mine since last year. I am going to flash back to stock just to test, especially since Chris has the new update posted. Good time to test. I can flash stock, then back to S Lover.
