Anyhow...just sharing my findings with y'all.

Oh yeah, thanks again Vin!! Pluto is ROCKING HARD!!
Wow okay. So I tried this cab out and to me...Could just be a placebo, but to me things do seem snappier. It seems like it scrolls faster and my programs are loading up faster too. Like I said it could just be a placebo, but to me things do seem to be running a lot faster. If that is the case then this by far is the best OC Ive ran into. Its simple to use and actually OC the device. IF someone wants to run a test to see if its actually doing something would be cool. I myself am not that savvy with the testing utensils.

Yeah I thought the same too, but then I thought why not give it one more shot, and the one posted above was nice and simple to use. No extra regedits, or this and that. It just pops up and asked for the overclocking speed which I set at 729, then it asked for the throttle speed for when the device sleeps which I set at like 577 I think, and then it asks for the polling interval which I left at 200. Didnt want to mess with that too much as I didnt know what its for. Then it asks to soft reset and thats it. Like I said it could just be a placebo but I think its actually doing something. I could be just imagining it though.

Yes the avatar is very humorously gay. I dont want to look at it but then get hypnotized by the picture that Im viewing. Very disturbing.

No you're not imagining it. The cab works very well for me. I am sitting at 787MHz and have had no issues since flashing to VIN's latest. It's definitely snappier.

Yeah, right? "What the hell" was my reason for trying it. I bumped the OC to max, throttle to min, and polling to 300...and everything is working perfectly...and snappier too. To check your CPU speed, you can run that the OC'er (Msm7kCpuSpeed_v2 [note it is now version 2]) and it will tell your CPU speed. Also note a couple things: the cab file I linked to uses the .dll of this OC'er (CpuSpeed); and if you run CpuSpeed to check your CPU speed, make sure you terminate it, as it will crash still. But the cab file I linked to will still run!

Yes the avatar is very disturbing!! LOL...Ok so what I wanted to ask you. Are you using the Msm7k V2 as well as the cab thread you posted??? Basically asking will one work without the other or do I need to have both installed to get it working??

You only need to install SetCpuSpeed-1.0d. It already includes the .dll from the OC'er (Msm7kcpuspeed). But you can also install Msm7kcpuspeed: running it will let you confirm your clock speed, and it won't cause any conflicts with SetCPUSpeed that I know of (aside from the fact that it *will* crash from time to time without affecting SetCPUSpeed...which is why I suggested to terminate Msm7kCPUSpeed after you confirm your CPU Speed).

Hope this clarifies...if not, I'll clarify when I settle in. LMAO...I'm getting deposed by IBM in DC...gotta catch a flight at noon. This is going to be fun!!

Btw: I haven't noticed extra battery drain...yet. Also, note that polling interval uses CPU cycles, so the longer the delay, the less CPU cycles are taken up = faster.

Ok cool. I am not a fan of the Msm7k for the simple that I have not had the best of luck with that OC. This one you posted seems to be the best one. I am playing around with the settings to see how far it will go. So have you noticed any change in battery life?? Does it affect it any?

Will, I appreciate your helpfulness - WITHOUT any sarcasm, or telling people to do a search on their own. Just here to help. You are what this forum was originally created to be.
So many people seem to forget that we were ALL new once, and it's refreshing to see people like you, and like I try to be, who are willing to take the time to help people who have less experience than others have.
