Here's my configuration which seems to work pretty good and unobtrusive yet still allow me to access the task manager. Just use the 1st and 3rd check boxes like below. Tapping or tapping/holding the time in the upper right corner still allows you to access it even though the icon is not shown.

See if Google Maps can properly find your location,
Settings > GPS > Google Maps

I've found on a few ROM's that to get the My Location to work the first time, I had to run Google Maps and have it find my location. After that it seemed to run fine. I haven't had that issue with this ROM, but maybe your location is remote enough that you have to give it a jump start?

Hey Lunacie, any way to enable the hardware buttons to disable the ring when a call comes through? On the default/stock ROM, when a call came through you could press the volume buttons once and it would silence the ring. Now you have to scramble to remove it from your hip case and actually use the S2A to answer/ignore to silence it.

This is actually wrong and I must respond as I've seen the same erroneous instructions given in other threads. 1st; phone MUST be OFF. If frozen, remove and re-insert battery. 2nd; press center and volume-down buttons simultaneously ( though one at a time still works) and THEN the power button. White screen with further instructions will appear. Now follow closely; volume down, then power, then reset button gets you the bootloader screen. Seems people are merging the two and therefore asking that a person have a third limb. No need as most people don't, and if you follow these directions you will find you don't need one. I haven't tried this ROM but I have tried a few other sense 2.5 ROMs and I did once have this issue. I restored PIM backup and then my wife got an old text from when we were having a fight so needless to say she started to get pissed, lol! I installed the wrong manila mods and had to hard reset and then never had the issue with restoring PIM backup again. Might be a Sense 2.5 thing but seems rare.

It get's rid of the watermark on the manila pages, but doesn't get rid of the WM on Start Menu. However, deleting the entire registry KEY does,

HKLM> Software> Microsoft> Shell> DeviceBeta

I created a backup of the entire key (exported it) before deleting just in case, but so far have been having no probs since coming across it. I was actually holding off for a couple days before posting until I tested it a bit but so far so good. :)

Battery issues are very complex - I've been getting decent (but not spectacular) battery life. I can go on a charge almost all day with moderate to heavy use, but have to make sure activesync is set to only download intermittently - if it's set to download as mails come in it'll drain the batter fast (duh).

The other biggie is the backlight. The brighter your screen, the faster the drain, no way around that. Best tool to deal with this is Lumos wizard, which is cooked in. I suggest everybody run this first thing after flashing to get a good profile, it'll save a lot of battery consumption.

Beta watermark is dealt with on the next rom, working out issues with the light rom right now, update(s) should happen this weekend.

Anyone here use Opera 10 beta 2 (cooked into this ROM)? If so, is it working for you on this ROM? I'm getting lots of crashes, though it was running fine in last ROM build.

Yes it works including Opera Mini 5 Beta too.:thumbleft::thumbleft::thumbleft: No crashes, ut then i dl both in the sd card not to ovld main mem.

Are you saying you downloaded and installed Opera 10? Reason I need to know is that it's cooked in by default. If you dl'd and installed, that could cause a difference in the way it operates (not a bad thing, I'm just trying to diagnose persistent crashes of Opera10 on my TP).

Aight Ladies and Gentelmen I finally found a way to get Groovefish to work, I found this on another Rom forum.

All you have to do is download to your Storage card. Unzip the file and save it to your storage card somewhere up to you. Then move the file to your windows directory. Soft reset and reopen Groovefish and WALA now it's working.

Lunacie could you please or if you can, can this be cooked in to your next release?

Sorry if I am double posting but I have an issue when I recieve a call, I'll slide to answer and it seems like it is laggy a couple of seconds and I get a loud beep noise in my ear. Is anyone experiencing the same thing?

One other thing that I've been reluctant to mention is that my phone freezes sometimes. I've been using this rom now for two weeks and I've experienced more freezes than I have in three years of flashing roms. I really like this rom, especially since I'm on verizon with an alltel touch pro. Can anyone help me fix this problem because when I soft reset my phone gets stuck on either boot screen or splash screen depending on how many times I soft reset. I get fed up and finally hard reset! Can someone also give me a clearcut solution to the enormous battery consumption because I've tried cabs, lumos,alias activesync kiler, reg hacks, and nothings seems to work!!! Somebody help, PLEASE!

I haven't experience any freezing using this ROM, I've been using it since Lunacie has put it out. However on your Battery did you try this yet Lunacie was the one who told me. Use your phone until you drain out all your battery and then charge it until it complety 100% charge. By doing this your are reconfiguring your battery. Do this 3 times. Hope this helps.

Did you change the PagePool? If you used default it set at 32megs. Not sure if Alltell has the same amount as the Sprint? Verizon's is less on board memory

That sounds like either a bad flash. I advise flashing a stock rom, then re-flashing the custom one (flashdance). This will re-set your memory and should allow for a clean install of this (or any) rom.

Regarding battery life, I can recommend:

1) reset your charging circuit by running battery down to below 20%, turn off phone, plug in for recharge. Turn phone on only after charge is complete. This will not alter battery life, but it will calibrate the circuit that monitors charge levels. TPs ship from HTC with 50% charge, reportedly this can cause the circuit to only allow partial charges & drains giving the efect of short battery life.

2) try a different radio. You do not need to use a verizon radio to be on the network. I'm on Verizon with a Sprint TP & Sprint radio. Different radios will give different results depending on location, best to experiment over the course of a month to see which has best performance for your needs.

Not sure if anyone's made that mod. 2.5 mods are just starting to come out, and mods for previous manila versions will mess it up. I beleive Kisja's lockscreen mod has this (when phone is locked), but I'm not quite ready to cook it into this ROM.

Hi Lunacie and sorry for the delay. Installes Opera 10.2 and Opera Mini 5 Beta in my sd card. Then deleted the other Opera so not to have problems. Also used RT's fix for groovish and also installed new Nitrogen. Didn't have problems (all of them donloaded in my sd card). Phone never crashed. It worked pretty smoothly. Used Dusk Theme and Leo's dialer. and great!!! Now I'm again working with another ROM.

Thanks for the help, as far as the radio is concerned which one works for the southeast region. I'm in augusta,ga where the Master's is played(2 hrs from Atl)? I'll try the battery thing as well as reoing the rom flash but thanks again for the insight.

Don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but I've had it on a few of the newer roms. I think I'm using the Lunacie 28014 base. My problem is in the morning when I get the phone and it has been on charge all night I have to hit the power button to turn it on and it starts up like a soft reset. I didn't get this with the first Lunacie I tried. I'll try some different flashes. Love the rom overall though.

Had the same thing happen to me the first night I installed the ROM. I eventually did a flashdance because I had installed a couple apps that kinda messed things up. Haven't had it happen since.

There's really no way of knowing - it's something you have to try for yourself, because it's dependent on your immediate area. Start flashing one, keep it for a few days, make note of signal strength and battery life averages, then move on to the next. Either you'll find one that suits you and stick to it right away, or you'll go through the lot, check your notes, and flash the one that worked the best for you.

Like SMOTRS mentioned, flashdance will likely cure this. It is almost never ROM dependent - almost ALWAYS due to bad flash.

What happens is that ceratain memory registers may not get properly erased or overwritten from a prior to a new flash, and this could cause weird symptoms to come up. The only way I know of to fix this is to flash a stock ROM since that will overwrite all the memory registers correctly, then flash the custom ROM. It's a bit of a pain, but it works. And ANY custom ROM can get muddled like this - it's the (un)luck of the draw, really.

Thanks, the battery technique seems to work so far but activesync is still starting up on its own even after changing the scheduling and installing elias Activesync Killer and NueDynamic Clock. I still can't get my current weather to show on the today screen. As far as the radio is concerned, I'm on alltel originally so I going to change to the verizon radio due to the merger and see if that doesn't help.

Here's a stupid question. When you first attempt to setup the weather, are you connected via activesync? I've found in the past that it has trouble connecting to the server to update the location when it's connected to activesync, so I make sure that I am not plugged in the first time I goto the Weather TAB.

Go to connection settings in activesync and check the box that says allow data connections on device when connected to PC. That'll fix that issue you're having.

Sounds like a good place to start. Just don't be afraid to use other carriers' radios, as the radios are actually not carrier specific. For instance, I find the Sprint radios to be best for me, even though I'm not on the Sprint network.

Just uploaded a new 28014-27 ROM with some updated packages, as well as the long awaited 'LITE' version with almost no external packages and a 12mb pagepool.

LITE is very beta - please test and let me know how it works.

I couldn't get it to boot up past the vzw startup screen! any other vzw users encounter this??
