drdrew, I re-read the thread, and from what I can tell my problems are different. I am not getting any error about no sim, I think what my problem is is that I don't care for the sms app in these ROMs. (Btw, from a newbie, I am assuming that what people are referring to as Manilla is the shell that these phones run? Again, I came from a Treo Pro and it is way different. But, as I adjust I like this shell pretty good.)

Anyway, I looked in the Registry, using TotalCommander, and seem to be unable to edit the registry values mentioned, and don't even have the ones
"People.MessageClient.Disable"=dword:00000001
; "People.Message.IsCDMA"=dword:00000001
at all. What gives?

I'm thinking if I can find these two I can disable the Manilla SMS client and revert back to the stock WM one? I would love to be able to do that. Any suggestions?

TIA,
Malachi

the quick easy answer to your problem is just to hit "all messages" from the sms tab anytime you want to deal with any txt msg's.

the better answer in my opinion to is to check out the "classicmessaging" mod thats located in post 6 or 7 in this thread on xda

just updated to 28008, having a couple problems:

1. when trying to open jpg through file explorer it says:

The file 'filename' cannon be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components.........

2. in camera mode, when trying view album, it just goes to a blank page with a blank button box

I hard resetted after flashing and even reflashed and still got the same errors. anyone confirm this?

this is because album is not in the ROM, however jpgs should be associated to pictures and videos. That is my mistake. In the interim, just use pictures and videos to open images.

edit: or just use this cab ;)

Yes, but I need to fix a few things that are present in 23511 manila 2.5 (namely, MMS) before I make another one.

no problem. btw I solved the issue with the camera too. it turns out I was cooking in htcalbum but none of its dependencies. (if you get my kitchen you'll see how I have it split into manila and titanium sections..) made htcalbum exclusive to manila (which I thought I did) and its all ok now.

I have a question about viewing pictures. I could originally (before my first flash) zoom pictures by spinning my finger clockwise over the sensor. This isn't a problem specific to this ROM, I have noticed that it hasn't worked for almost every ROM that I have used. Any idea why I can't do this now?

I would go with the 23511 Manila 2.5. I have been using it for a week and loving it. You will need to add a few cabs and modify the SMS code (instructions on page one of this post) but everything else works great!

Good luck with it.

that functionality has been gone for a while now... all you can do is double tap the area you'd like to zoom.

What all have you included in your backup?

side note: 28008 titanium only (I am getting back to my roots ;) ) will be up today. A few changes inlcude no more taskfacade (replaced with double tap back to launch WM task manager) no menu animation, they pop up instantly now. all shortcuts fixed, no more duplicates, etc. Should be very fast too ;)

Thanks for the assistance. It's just the PIM.VOL file copied to my SD card, then copied back. It wasn't done through a backup program. Perhaps some of the facebook syncing has created an issue from Manila to Sense?

manila 2.5 does not have landscape by default. you can check out the landscape cabs that are available but they aren't perfect yet.

I love this rom for my TP. Currently running 23511. Notice the font thing in calendar being white and pictures in album is shifted. Otherwise very great rom. Feels like I have a whole new toy. Is anyone still running 23509...any issues?

[QUOTE=raidzero;1385665]I have included raph keyboard config for you button mapping pleasure. go to settings, system, keyboard config. I have since changed the taskfacade shortcut to double tap back, I find it easier. I moved the start menu all around so it would only be one page at a time, no scrolling needed. I did provide a map, I guess I forgot to inslude total commander in it. I have had no problems with total commander..opera 10 is still beta and I have found it to be the source for memory issues and stability problems. It is very nice when it works, though I love the scrolling in 9.7 (the tolerance for x-asis devaition - opera 10 has NONE)

DDDDDDaaaaaaaa
"too light of a ROM" for my pref... What a noob I am... somehow managed to miss the extra big line on top that says you have a kitchen!!!!!!!!!!! Never mind...:silent:

THANKS... giving it a shot.

Re: [ROM][12-4]WM 6.5.1 23511 Manila 2.1/2.5 & 28008 Titanium [UC/Sashimi]

Opera freezing while scrolling. I think this is happening cause opera is thinking you are doing a long press. Is there a setting in opera:config to change it?

I was able to kind of remedy it by recalibrating my screen and use regular pressure rather than soft when calibrating.

What is this Nomessage Update people are refering to? I see only three threads in the forums thgat mention it.

Thanks

Re: [ROM][12-4]WM 6.5.1 23511 Manila 2.1/2.5 & 28008 Titanium [UC/Sashimi]

Thanks for the quick response.

Quick question for ya. I have everything set up for UC with my provisioning xml files. Everything works great when I transitioned to your rom, however, for some reason, none of my files get copied over from the SD card when I use cpy1 to cpy2 in my SDConfig file.
Code:

CPY1:\Storage Card\Autoinstall\file_to_copy
CPY2:%CE1%\file_to_paste

Any idea why it isn't copying during UC? Like I said, everything else in my SDConfig works as well as my provisioning files. I am also not getting any errors.

Thanks again. With the exception of it freezing occasionally when a call is recieved, this rom is rock solid so far.

I challenge everyone to find a faster ROM than my 28011. ;) I have a big head about this release because the numbers don't lie:

of course, there is nothing in the ROM's that is not already in the kitchen. I know a lot of chefs release their kitchen but take out all the registry tweaks and various "secrets". I have no secrets, I do what I do and hope it inspires others, if they learn from it then that is great. Competition spurs innovation and that is what the community is all about. :-D

So I used your kitchen and sys (28011) already so i should be good to go! Cool...thank you Sir!

And it definitely is speedy with Manila2.5 even. Cooked ROM was only about 125MB with 8MB pagepool, left out Titanium.

it is designed for sprint. it should work fine on metro as long as you have the carrier packages that make other roms work for you. The only people the ROM will not boot for is VZW, since that TP is so much different.
