Re: [ROM][01-13]WM 6.5.5 23518 Manila 2.5&Titanium [UC/Sashimi] - FINAL TP RELEASE

Thanks for the link.

However, I still have a couple of questions.

I cannot access the "Radios" link (I don't know if that's because I just created a new account earlier today).

I was informed that you MUST install the radio or your phone will not be functional after upgrading from windows 6.1 to windows 6.5 let alone to any other ROM.

On top of that, the link explained nothing about the files that I had downloaded in the Manila 2.5 zip file.

For example, what does the bootloader.exe do?

Is there a link to better explain how to install the Manila 2.5 rom onto my phone?

Thank you again for your time.

Re: [ROM][01-13]WM 6.5.5 23518 Manila 2.5&Titanium [UC/Sashimi] - FINAL TP RELEASE

Flashing rom will not change radio.
First you will need to unlock phone to flash custom rom. Read this http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503 Make sure you use correct one. If your wrong will brick phone. Zip files need to be unziped.

Thank you vary much!

So now that I've unlocked my phone, I can use any of the ROMs in the TP forum?

Thanks.

Yes you can use any TP ROM. Just noticed you have Verizon. May want to search this thread for Verizon carrier cab. Most ROMs are geared towards Sprint.

lol

Well, I'm in love!

I've been researching for the past 3 days on flashing a phone and ended up not having a single problem!

As a precaution, I did set the page pool to 8 (after reading that someone had done that to get their Verizon phone to work).

After unlocking, flashing the new ROM, loading the Verizon carrier cab and installing the Verizon radio cab (ver 1.03.9v) I have not yet had a single problem with my phone!

Well, almost no problems.

The only problem that I have is my phone seems to take longer booting up to the desktop, but with the ROM has to offer I don't know if that would even be considered a problem.

Thank you very much for the ROM!!:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

Mad props from,

-Dafrag

On thing that I forgot to add is that my phone's internet and GPS is actually running about DOUBLE what it was before.

I'm even using the same radio version that my phone came with even though the post about the 12 new radios claims that 1.03.3V R is the shipped radio.

Perhaps that is because I got my phone at the end of October *shrugs*.

Sounds like you did it right. Sense 2.5 is slow to boot. Next week you will be cooking ROMs.

I just encountered a major problem.

The Touch Pro is too limited on RAM to use the HTC Sense.

I cannot go on the internet with this ROM =(

Maybe try disabling Sense, then try internet again. Just to make sure it isn't something else. Raids Titanium is nice also.

Both yozgatg and kimi_sae_ireba at xda have both been instrumental in helping me find a fix for it. It was a thread suggested by kimi that eventually got me where I needed to be:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...01&postcount=6

I ended up installing the v2 beta3 files using Mortscript, and it works like a charm! It disables the Sense IM client, and uses the native poutlook client instead. SMS messages no longer appear on the Messaging tab, but the unread SMS message count icon still does. If you click on the notification of a new SMS message, poutlook messaging is invoked instead, which is a lot more responsive than the Sense UI, especially when you have a long history of text messages to someone. To add icing on the cake, you can still use the Sense Messaging UI to compose or reply to an SMS message displayed on the messaging screen, and the 2106 error is no longer returned. The recipient indeed gets your text.

One caveat: The mortscript assumes all files in the zip file are in one folder, but they end up in separate folders after unzip (I think each folder represents a language, with 0409 being English). Being unsure of which ones were needed, I copied the script into each folder and ran it from each folder. You may also need to use Total Commander to perform any copy operations the script failed on due to permissions (the script writes into the \Windows folder).

Anyway, follow the instructions exactly as amarullz mentions, and the fix should work for you.

What's up guys. Long time RZ kitchen user and found this post about the msg. 2106 error that I've been getting. I'll try it when I get home later tonight and hopefully it works. The new 2.5.2012 is so fast I'd hate to have to revert to sense 2.1 because of this stupid error! Thanks for your help!

Raid,

Just wanted to pay tribute to your work tonight. I have been quietly lurking around here and xda for a while now. Flashing since the xw6700, across about 8 different model phones, and I have never been as pleased with a ROM as I am with this one (Titanium) on the Touch Pro 2. This is really sweet! Highly functional, fast, stable and even sharp looking. Microsoft should make you an MVP for demonstrating the great things their software is capable of in the right hands.

You Rock.=D>

Hey Raid, thanks for the great ROM. I only have one issue now, which is about to become a big problem: My Phone is telling me it's going to expire in 15 days again. :(

I've read this may just be because you failed to remove the notifications from the queue, and it may actually remain active, but aside from advancing the clock manually I don't know how to check. Should I be looking into switching to another ROM in the next 15 days, or are these notifications just there to make me shit my pants for no reason?

You can try deleting this key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Device Beta] from your phone registry, if it exists. Maybe that will help. Dont forget to soft reset your phone if you delete it.

I already switched to my old Rant because I wasnt sure how long it would take to get a response and needed my phone. If I call Sprint to reactivate my TP can I do it from a custom ROM (incase they make me go into one of the screens where you put in your ID numbers, phone number) or do I have to go to the stock ROM?

Does anyone know how I can get out of the screen that says:

I flashed the rom and for some odd reason I am getting this particular error and can't sync to flash another rom.

Thank you!

I already tried the instruction on the post above without luck.

Put your phone in bootloader mode. Soft reset while holding the power key and volume down key until you see the tricolor screen. Connect to your computer. Wait till it says USB at the bottom of the screen, then run the custom ruu.

Check the thread on the sticky sections about task29

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=121736

It will teach you how to put your phone on bootloader mode, so you can wipe the room off and the reflash with stock or moded rom.

quick step by step:
  1. Boot in bootloader mode
  2. connect usb cable
  3. flash task29 with splash screen
  4. reboot
  5. boot again bootloader mode
  6. flash stock or moded rom
  7. back in business

The issue is that raidzero released this ROM without patching the timebomb. He doesn't have a TP anymore, so he won't be developing this ROM anymore.

You can try out my ROM, which is based heavily off raidzero's kitchen...basically the same thing with many updated packages, but I left out some of the titanium goodies and cut out some of the extra programs.

Alternatively, you can check out his kitchen. Unfortunately, that's also discontinued, but if you play around with it, update to a new patched sys, all the more power to you :)
