That issue is unfortunately not likely to be a ROM issue but a design flaw in the Touch Pro. It's a common problem has caused me to have to have my provider replace the phone. The "pinching the space bar" fix generally starts working less and less well until it stops fixing the problem. If your phone is out of warranty there are tutorials on how you can open up the phone and attach the ribbon cable more securely. Obviously that is a high risk thing to try though. If it's in warranty talk to your provider and remember to flash back to stock rom and re-lock it!
