Yes, I'm familiar with wktask... and I dont much care for it. I find Qmenu to be a much more efficient and responsive task manager.
Besides- with wktask, I'd STILL have an X on the bottom that doesnt do what I want as well as an X on top that does. Part of my gripe with the new UI is how messy and unfinished it all feels. Having a redundant X with different properties would make it even worse!

I used one of the DCD ROMs for my Titan and loved it. Looking for the most stable 6.5 ROM now for my Touch Pro...
Sort of- 6.5.1 isn't an official name for anything- its just what forum-goers have decided to call the leaked builds with the new UI. And there are various forms of the new UI as well, I believe. DCD is using the one internally referred to as com3 for one of his roms, while this one keeps the traditional UI (com2). Correct me if I'm wrong, DCD.

But yes, as far as fast and stable for touch Pro, this may be your best choice, although be prepared to install a lot manually- his rom is very bare bones (which I LOVE about it).

Re: dcd's hermann ROM 2.27 (COM2)

Ah, thanks for clarifying that. As long as it has the basics (like his titan ROMs had) I am fine with installing all of the other apps. If I come across an app that isn't in the ROM and I can't find a cab for, I know a couple great sites to check...

OT: I have mainly been using MS 3.5 with TFDetacher to switch back and forth between MS and the TF3D in 6.1. As soon as I get confirmation that this will still work, I will probably upgrade

Re: dcd's hermann ROM 2.27 (COM2)

Have my phone backed up, going to work on gathering all the cabs I need for the flash tomorrow. *crosses fingers*

EDIT: flashed and some of the cabs reinstalled. A few seem to have finally gotten too old (they were pre-Titan programs) but that just means I need to find better ones now, right? I have to say the today screen is a LOT nice than 6.1. Haven't even looked at TF3d yet, not sure I really want to either, that's how much I like it as-is. Another great rom DCD, thanks!!

Re: dcd's hermann ROM 2.27 (COM2)

Ok, first off, I love the ROM. However, before I upgraded I could sync my Napster To Go subscription with my Touch Pro just fine. Now, I can sync with my computer, but Napster won't even register it as being connected. WMP will see it, but won't transfer because "The content provider has not granted you the right to sync this file. Go to the content provider's online store to get sync rights."

Nothing has changed other than the ROM. I have looked around the forums here as well as Napster's and HTC's, and have come to the conclusion that there was something in the base ROM dealing with DRM that is either conflicting now, or was accidentally removed from the build. I really don't want to have to remove all the DRM just so I can play music on my phone. When it works, it is 'click download, click add to device, enjoy'.

Anyone have any ideas? I have a full backup from SPB Backup (including registry) that I spent all day going through comparing to the current setup, but didn't notice anything that jumped out as a possible fix. I really do not want to have to pick between listening to music or having a great ROM...Willing to work with people on figuring this out, as I am not the only one this has happened to.

Re: dcd's hermann ROM 2.27 (COM2)

I had a similar problem with windows media licensing. Unfortunately, it's been a while so I don't remember the details. But I think the problem occurred even when I just hard reset. You could go back to the previous ROM to see if it's the ROM or something else. Sorry I can't be of more help. I remember posting here and/or xda for help, but I don't remember anyone answering.

Re: dcd's hermann ROM 2.27 (COM2)

I think I might have seen your post somewhere. DCD or any other devs have any news or info about this? If it was removed and there is a good reason (fear of riaa reprisals or the like) or if we are just a low minority of 'customers' that it was taken out to save space/etc for the masses, that's fine with me, but some news would be nice

also is it possible that battery life is weaker in this rom or is it just me, or maybe its too early to tell.
I was about to post something about the battery life, but thought I would read back through the thread first. I reflashed with the method of removing the battery, hard-resetting and all that to make sure everything was cleared, and can still watch the battery life go down with a minimum of apps installed. Currently only have the following apps:
  • Total Commander
  • dcd taskman 2.1.34837
  • J.S. Advanced Config 3.3
  • Opera Mini 4.2.13216
If there are any updates for any of these, I will gladly take them, have a 1500mAh extended battery that goes down 1% every couple minutes, and the regular stock 1340mAh battery is a lot faster at draining.

Re: dcd's hermann ROM 2.27 (COM2)

sadly id like to know whats going on...

schapps went MIA last year because of the buzz his AdvConfig generated (well mainly the mountain of problems that came about because he tried to make it NON device or series specific and the complaints about said problems instead of just reporting the problem... i think most dev's/chef's need to open a mantis bug tracker... IMO)

no2chem has been silent for almost 2 months now... and when hes silent and not on the trail of being godlike with his apps/fix's, the WM World as we know it weaps and starts to suck more

DcD, well hes not getting PAID (like a job), and i dont think donations are as much as they where once, i dont know if its school or work but i think hes busy as hell with IRL stuff... or lost his interest

IMO this world is going to shit fast... i really hate the TP but until i get a better paying job or get a free upgrade to the TP2 (1: on my 5th TP, 2: just because i hear the TP2 is SOOO much better with almost none of the problems the TP2 suffers from) im stuck with it... it doesn't bode well when some of my most loved dev's/chef's go MIA/Silent/RageQuit...
