Re: dcd's hermann ROM 2.27 (COM2)

Personally, after trying the new GUI for a bit, I've decided its not ready for prime time use by folks like me (who use a lot of legacy apps).

I've amassed a lot of legacy and hard-to-find apps that just don't play nicely with the new GUI... for example, a foreign language font reader which I use a lot won't let me proceed past the setup screen without pressing OK- but there's no OK, instead there's an X to minimize the whole program. I eventually found a workaround using some hardware keys, but it was an annoying bug and completely unnecessary if you ask me.

Even Microsoft's own app screens just seem out of place, like this is a proof of concept and will be updated before it is finally released. I like the idea, but the aesthetics and app functionality aren't there yet. Maybe in the future. For now, DCD, thanks for keeping the old GUI alive a bit longer.

I know you didn't ask our opinions, but I'd like to cast my vote that you not declare this your last old GUI Rom just yet...

Meanwhile, thanks for the new roms! Will be flashing soon...

fuk yes, OLD UI FTW!

still rocking the 95 style (well NT really) StartMenu/Theme but with the new flashy Win7 actions!

LONG LIVE DCD!!! (no2chem seems to be MIA again, otherwise id say the same since ALOT of this fix's and such always seem to end up in the best ROM makers package -hint hint-, also always note that whenever he doesn't most for exactly 31 days the spam bots have fun with his comment system)

Re: dcd's hermann ROM 2.27 (COM2)

Hello DCD, I love your roms from back in the mogul days, I always come back to your roms thanks so much.
I noticed that the zoom wheel around the dpad is not working in the 2.27 rom, I use it to scroll in many programs.
also is it possible that battery life is weaker in this rom or is it just me, or maybe its too early to tell.

I installed a program called wktask which I always use its an excellent task manager and it has its own Ok and X box at the top right corner and it works well even with the new WM 6.5.1. try it out its freeware, here is a link

Re: dcd's hermann ROM 2.27 (COM2)

So, COM2 is 6.5, and COM3 is 6.5.1? Is that correct? I am currently running the stock 6.1 from HTC (July release for US Cellular) and would like to upgrade to 6.5, but don't really want to mess around with problems caused by the moved start button and all that. I used one of the DCD ROMs for my Titan and loved it. Looking for the most stable 6.5 ROM now for my Touch Pro...
