???? backup to storage card--the flash will not do anything to data stored on your card. After flashing, go to pim on the new rom and hit restore (go to the most recent backup if that's what you want) done--all info is back. No need to save to computer and transfere files.

One more question for you RSTG. To transfer my contacts between versions, I usually copy my pim.vol file to my computer. After the flash to the new version I'll rename the existing pim.vol (on the phone) to p.vol and then transfer the file on my computer over to the phone via ActiveSync. When I've done this recently it has disabled the radio on the phone, it says 'no service'. I've verified all the phone settings and I know it's the pim.vol file, as soon as I delete mine off the phone I get service back. I know the easy answer it to Outlook but I don't want my work contacts on my home computer and my personal contacts on my work computer. I'm thinking of going to a web based back up, but wondered if maybe you knew of a reason it isn't working. It always has in the past.

Thanks for all your work on this. I love this ROM! One problem I'm having is that the "Get the rest of this message" link at the end of an Outlook email message from an Exchange server account doesn't seem to work properly. Clicking it gives the "Downloading..." message but that's about it. The message never actually seems to get downloaded. Is anybody else seeing this? Another problem I see is that the signal strength displayed is substantially lower than with other ROMs. I don't know if it's the signal bar display that's goofy or if the signal is truly lower. Is there a radio cooked into this ROM that's different than the standard Sprint radio?

menu--delete all from a pop3 account...no biggie since I can menu--slelect all--delete with no probs.....not even big enough of an issue to warrent a "nusance"

I've noticed a bit of signal dip as well---will all roms across the board--even "Sprint" roms. I install Sprint DCD cab and update profile every time I flash any rom--seems to bring the strength up. Could be a placebo and me stroking myself??????? but again, it "seems" to work--doesn't hurt though. here's the cab

I'll run it for today. I didn't notice any increase in signal strength, and the PRL included in the .cab is 60613 and the latest is 60652. 60652 si the latest I got. We'll see how it goes today...

RSTG is there a difference between "update profle" , "update prl" and running another Sprint carrier cab???
I know this is a Sprint specific rom, your "S" version--but when i flashed yesterday, I specificaly looked at my signal strength. I did notice that it was lower than pre-flash (I was running your 11-15 version with DCD and update profile done) so I ran the DCD cab and update profile on your latest 11-16 "S" rom----maybe the only thing I needed to do was update profile, but there was a noticable difference in signal strength after the DCD cab and update profile....again, this may be me noticing something that isn't happening. I have a range extender 10 feet from where I flash, prior to doing the cab/update profile I was getting 3-4 bars, after the cab/update profile I'm at a full 5 bars??????????????? still could be a placebo effect though

I didn't see any change from just doing an Update PRL with this ROM but installing the dcd radio and then doing an Update PRL seems to have made a huge improvement. At work I'm seeing two bars more signal strength which is where it should have been all along. I'll see tonight if this also solves the problem I was having with my Airave where the phone would show either 5 bars or 0 bars when in front of the Airave.

Try "update profile" not just "update prl"--see if that helps too.

Update profile resets the Vision login with Sprint, update profile updates the PRL. Works out of the box with the "S" version. The carrier cabs as far as I know, while they include a PRL, there shouldn't be too much that improves signal. There is alot of other things going on that I'm not going to go into due to brain-capacity-limitations. Take a look at the provxml files included in the carrrier cab files and you'll see what info it sets. It's christmas at work...

I will be updateing calkulin's kitchen with those new dcd carrier cabs, I thinks I saws enough improvement. But When I get off I'm going to take a few RF measurements...
