What is compact mode?

My slider is really sticky when starting from the home tab. If I start sliding from any other tab it's really smooth and fast. I've read talk of it having to do with the weather on the home tab. Even if I disable weather animation on the home screen the slider is still sticky. I've tried a couple of other ROMS and they seemed to have found a fix for this. I can't seem to figure it out. Is your slider like this? Do you know how to fix it?

My slider's smooth as it's always been. Maybe it's something to do with co0kie's home tab mod. What did you set for the following?

0 -> no animations
1 -> simple animations
2 -> optimized animations
3 -> original animations

try this, its two EXTs, one with the skinned files only and one with the original, to be overwritten by the skin

The only Ezinput version I found that works with compact mode doesn't have tactile feedback (EzInput_2.0.33633-VGA)

I guess it doesn't have compact mode. If it does, I can't figure out how to get it there. That's no biggie for me personally. Why do you prefer that method? I only use Swype. IMO there is no faster easier way to type than Swype. I'm really only concerned w/EZInput because if I'm ever to release a ROM I'm sure people would want that option.

As far as tactile feedback (vibration?), I'm not sure. I use TouchResponse and so even if the tactile feedback doesn't work, it does on mine through TouchResponse.

I wonder if a lot of people use Compact mode. Weird.

The EXT package came with more than what I posted. I've not cooked all of it in as some it seemed to be older versions of what I already had. Perhaps that's because they are needed to make some of the options your talking about work. I dunno.

Ah, the nikoan89 version. In that case, just a warning to make sure everything is bug free before releasing =P
I could not get that version of EzInput working properly in all aspects...

See here and here, and check the thread for other reports from CDMA RAPH800 users...the hardware keyboard gets remapped (and is messed up), and the fix screws up any typing in compact or phone mode.

That's why I stuck with the older version of EzInput (2.0.33633) that works properly, albeit without tactile feedback (native to the sip).

typically skinned dll files do not play well with versions other than the one they were made for. This is true for ezinput and phonecanvas. sometimes if the version numbers are very close they might work but 100% compatibility is never guaranteed.

This is the blue-skinned version =)
