I guess it doesn't have compact mode. If it does, I can't figure out how to get it there. That's no biggie for me personally. Why do you prefer that method? I only use Swype. IMO there is no faster easier way to type than Swype. I'm really only concerned w/EZInput because if I'm ever to release a ROM I'm sure people would want that option.

As far as tactile feedback (vibration?), I'm not sure. I use TouchResponse and so even if the tactile feedback doesn't work, it does on mine through TouchResponse.

I wonder if a lot of people use Compact mode. Weird.

The EXT package came with more than what I posted. I've not cooked all of it in as some it seemed to be older versions of what I already had. Perhaps that's because they are needed to make some of the options your talking about work. I dunno.
