No one seems to be sure what the PRI does, but it seems to be involved in identifying your phone to the tower. For example, on the Verizon network, if you dial *228 for a PRL update, you will get the latest Verizon PRL. If, however, you have a Sprint PRI on your phone, you will get the latest Sprint PRL, even though you called *228 through Verizon's network. I don't know what's changed in the update, but I encourage everyone on Sprint trying the new Sprint radio to install this new PRI as well.

Re: [AUG 4] *12 Radios Available* Updated Touch Pro CDMA Radio Archive Thread
Probably a dumb question but can somebody use a radio in an area where that carrier does not exist?
For example, we have Sprint Verizon and ATT here but we dont have US Cellular or Alltel (anymore). Can I still use a Radio from US Cellular? |

As I've said before these 'Radio' files are not different radios, they are simply different firmware versions for your phones' internal cellular 'radio'. They are called Sprint X.XX.whatever simply because [for this example], Sprint releases that specific firmware version on a ROM update. It has nothing to do with your carrier.

Re: [AUG 4] *12 Radios Available* Updated Touch Pro CDMA Radio Archive Thread
Ditto, lots of spots in Miami where I get either full bars or no bars. In Aventura area, where I'm staying at, no bars. Unincorporated Miami-Dade (West Kendall area), same no bars/signal, have to move around to get/makes calls. Kendall Drive area, in my place EVDO/data is slow to useless, but 1x has full bars and I rarely get missed calls. Brickell area getting 3 EVDO bars as usual reguardless of which radio I used from the original thread with 7 radios.
Not much difference from the other radios, except for Aventura. Plus full charge to battery warning in just a few hours, phone stays warm/hot to the touch without use. Anyone try the Latest Alltel or Verizon radios in the Miami area? -CC

Re: [AUG 4] *12 Radios Available* Updated Touch Pro CDMA Radio Archive Thread
proving that everybody gets different results with the same radios in almost the same areas, I had a great experience with the Sprint 1.12.34F while vacationing in Miami the past week (stayed at Doral area, but also went to Ft. Lauderdale and Miami Beach)

Re: [AUG 4] *12 Radios Available* Updated Touch Pro CDMA Radio Archive Thread
I live in the bay area (california) and have played around with the 2 from verizon and 1.12.34f from sprint. The best numbers I get are from the SPRINT 1.12.34f:
RX power -67 dbm low, -80 dbm high RX Ec/Io -3.5 db low, -4.5db high Rx FER 0% Hope this will help someone around here.
