Uh, NO! The radio, if you read the thread, is what the phone uses to communicate with the cell towers. It in no way will let you use it like a walkie talkie-unless you have push to talk of course. But, it will not add that feature. That feature-push to talk, etc. is carrier specific. Radio is just what sends and receives the signal to and from your phone.

Exclamation Re: [AUG 4] *12 Radios Available* Updated Touch Pro CDMA Radio Archive Thread

This will be my first time flashing my USCC TP back to stock radio (v1.07.06F). When I started the RUU, the rom to install says 1.00.000.0?? does this sound right? Is this normal?

I last installed Sprint rom v1.12.34F, and if I remember right the RUU said it was installing v1.12.34F.

Curious to about the rom numbers. Do the higher number mean latest release or is that just for the individual carrier, or are they just meaningless for the most part??

p/s
Thnx to all who contribute to the cause!!

as long as you're using the package from the first post, it's fine.

Re: [AUG 4] *12 Radios Available* Updated Touch Pro CDMA Radio Archive Thread

Changing radios hasn't done much for my signal but it finally fixed my no incoming calls/texts problem while roaming. For months I've had to lock the phone in 1x in order to receive calls and texts. I just put the latest Verizon radio on and it's working great!

Update: It improved my data speeds too. I tested it in town today (Sprint service area) and my speeds are double what the were, still not great (250 - 300 kbs), but better. GPS is working well also.

My RX power is currently -103dbm. I understand that is garbage, but that is about normal for all of the radio's I've tried. Could it just be a crappy location I'm in?
