CDMA Verizon Touch Pro XIP - WM6.5 21815 23009 23016 23028 23047 23049
Please see previous thread here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=53848
Just started a new thread instead of bogging down the original thread. These XIPs are in "old-style kitchen" format - ROM folder with os.nb.payload and boot.rgu in the ROM\XIP. I do not include WinCENLS - make sure this is in your SYS. Unless otherwise stated, these are 6.1 native kernel (nk.exe), 12MB page pool, spinlock patched. I also include the no2chem DDI.dll and GxDMA.dll drivers. Make sure you don't duplicate those drivers in your kitchen. Edit 21-Sep - New thread here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86398 with WM6.5 native kernel versions starting with 23047. EDIT 17-Sep - 23049 XIP with cachefilt.dll tested, booting and uploaded. Jury is still out on 23049. Seems fast but still some GUI strangeness. EDIT 18-Aug - 23016 XIP with cachefilt.dll tested, booting and uploaded. Neither this nor 23028 has had extensive system testing, but they both boot and seem fast after a few minutes of playing around. I will report back on the stability or any other issues after I've played longer. EDIT 17-AUG - new version of 23028 XIP with cachefilt.dll tested, booting and uploaded. Seems really fast compared to 23009 XIP/SYS without cachefilt.dll. But could be OS. I don't like the UI changes (bigger bottom button bar) so I'm probably going to an earlier release - between 23028 and 23009. EDIT 16-Aug - 23009 up. Been running this for about a month. No XIP problems. 23009 doesn't seem all that snappy. This XIP is missing cachefilt.dll. I believe it will be faster with this. 10Mb PP. EDIT 1-Jul - New version of 21815 attached (see 21815a). 10MB PP. Note, I could not get a booting ROM if I tried to recover the freed-up virtual memory. Could be new Verizon MR1 native kernel, could be WM6.5 system. Giving up on this - bang for the buck is low. Use stock .ROM and .VM when cooking. Note - tested ONLY on a VZW Touch Pro. Previous XIPs have also worked on Sprint Touch Pros but I have no way to test. Definitely NOT for GSM devices or for Diamonds!!

the evil genius has returned
on a side note ... ppcgeeks should make you an honorary VIP for the excellent work you produce... I dont think I have seen anyone willing to go into the depths of an XIP such as you do most appreciated Last edited by lllboredlll; 06-30-2009 at 06:32 PM. |

Re: CDMA Touch Pro XIP - WM6.5 21815
JD - you say it's "designed" for newer building tools... At the end of the day it has to end up as an os.payload.nb or part of a complete ROM .nb or .nbh and I can extract it from that format the way I need it. Anything wrong with my reasoning on this?
For the rest of you, thanks for the nice words. Been really busy at work (really exciting times for us) and 20771 was so good I wasn't looking. But the touch screen on my TP gave out (unless it was above 4000 ft or 100 deg then it works fine) - I've got a new one which means it's time to re-flash so I'm just trying to fast-forward to WM6.5. Like it so-far, but unfortunately (or fortunately) I won't be back for long - one and done this time around until work cools down again. |
