Man, I am surprised of a the feedback for this ROM. I have never seen a release thread like this.

This must still need a lot of work.

Probably, but you gotta admit people waited a long time and built some huge expectations for it. Sometimes it doesn't matter how good a project is, it can never live up to the hype that surrounds it. Kinda like the iPhone or the Star Wars prequels.

Having said that, anybody who calls themselves an "elite team" better be throwing down liquid gold smothered in bacon gravy.

well,.........in my honest opinion the thread may have been introduced with a bit of hype for first release, causing anticipation anxiety for ROM junkies like myself! no big deal though.... off on the wrong foot so to speak. It's gotten harsh in this thread, perhaps give the creator a chance to fix bugs by kindly posting them in here? Definately getting everyone hyped up and making them wait isn't that great either. I see it happen from others too. Again, no big deal to me, no hard feelings. IMHO, delete this thread and start it over, post an updated rom with bugfixes, everyone would all be happy! (That's in a perfect dream world though) Anyways, I'm done with my 2 cents worth. Negativity kills creativity though. If a new version of this rom comes out, i'll give it a shot...

Actually, the "Top Secret" link in the start menu is part of Remote Tracker... it has to be turned on in Config, so it's not accidentally used... In Config, you set up to four emergency emails and four emergency phone numbers, and if you choose to, check the item to enable the "Top Secret" app. The Remote Tracker devs call "Top Secret" an "Anti-Kidnapping" app... if you run it, a password prompt comes up. Tap Cancel, it does nothing. Put any ANYTHING (or nothing) in the password prompt, and tap OK, it will SEEM to do nothing, always says wrong password, but enables sending an emergency message with your GPS location to the email addresses and phone numbers set (via SMS on the emails) every five minutes, until soft reset.

When that option was first put in, it was enabled by default, and rather shocked my wife when I tried it out... I had no idea why it wasn't taking my password, and also had no idea I was sending an SOS with my location to my wife's phone. :P

Edit:
Oh, can read more about Remote Tracker here: http://remotetracker.sourceforge.net
Also, we forgot to mention that is what the RTRegCreator4.zip in the release archive is for... you can use that to create/edit your Remote Tracker configuration on the PC instead of on the phone, if you prefer.

The hardware keyboard appears to have the wrong driver. Many of the keys are mismapped. For example, trying to use the number keys results in different symbols which also don't match the green "function" symbols. Additionally the FN key doesn't work.

i still haven't seen any postings as to whether or not the vidoes will play on anyone else's. it sure as heck won't on mine and it's annoying. i think Starrom has a similar problem. there is just something wrong.

also. and i repeat, there is something wrong with the install of this. i just added a program the phone didn't like, then did a hard reset, and now half of my damn programs are gone again (i would think because customizations don't go all the way through). i mean WTF??? this is NOT right guys. and yes, i'm extremely annoyed.

Hey Dark Lord!

I'm going to have to disagree wtih ya here, my customizations ran through just fine on the first try.

Maybe you have a corrupt download?

So far, so good for me, bug free installation. And a nice responsive ROM.

Great first run team! Can't wait to see where this goes!
