Whatever happened to the ELITE rom?
 

Perhaps this question has been answered a million times, but I found no info. A while back, people were all donating to go toward the "elite rom project" and the discussion turned into people constantly asking where it is, other people telling them to be patient, and then arguments, and finally the thread was closed

So what happened with this?

seriously...well will somebody that actually has some cred look into this. cus i happened to be one that wanted this and i took an extensive vacation came back and poof everything was gone lol...

Well, I donated to the project, and still wasn't worthy of a response from the elite folks.

I may have been one of the reasons that the thread was closed, but I felt that the team needed to be held accountable to the donators as to when the product would be delivered.

They have released several versions of the GSM version on the XDA site, so you'd think at least a beta could be delivered here.

that thread was closed because everyone was arguing about not getting responses from the rom-makers.

well if people donated money for something and never received it, i'm sure the complaints were completely necessary and warranted.

btw, I'm not surprised.....pretty sad really. Nobody should be donating any money for something they had yet to receive. Probably just caused greed in the project coordinators and they took the cash and ran.

Oh well, nothing y'all can do now, except learn from your (incredibly naive) mistakes.

nah, i'm sure because of the nature of the transaction (a donation) PayPal won't give a crap about it.

if i understand this right...people donated money to someone (people) to make a rom, and all the mods are ok with this? I thought this site had better standards then that. I am truly sadden to hear that this is allowed to happen.

well lets hold some credibility to these s o b's just because the thread was arguably closed doesn't mean they shouldn't deliver! thas one of the reasons i had not donated without a product.
i would gladly donate to a finished or even beta.

it was the risk we all took. it just pi$$ed me off when those folks never answered us and then just took our money and ran. and as far as i'm concerned, the mods here let it happen.

i've been over at XDA to see if anything is going on and nothing.... i think those guys are having a big laugh at our expense (literally).

well. i've now said what i've been wanting to say for awhile now. i didn't have the guts to open up a new thread because it was said by a mod it would be closed. so i'm glad you did. thank you very much.

i disagree. the mods should have banned them from this site. i don't give a damn who they are. or what they had done in the past. they came out with this fancy thread saying how great they were and taking donations for this perfect rom they were creating. what a joke.

and yep. i'm pi$$ed all over again now. just waiting on a mod to shut this thread down.

so...we're mad because they didn't come out with a rom even though they came out with an unlocker for all of our devices so we can put roms of any type on our phone?
we complain about no rom when without this, we couldn't even be close to getting other carrier's phone on different cdma networks (at least legally).
And we're complaining why they didn't come out with a rom and they've made unlockers and a panoply of other things for our xda devices...
besides the fact that this topic isn't even supposed to be here wtf?

Thats not the point hear, that is a whole different topic, and they were already donated to by many members for releasing the unlocker. The fact hear is that they started a thread claiming that they will release a rom for the CDMA users, and asking for donations, and in return the users GET NOTHING, but still donated for the never coming ROM.

for sure cmonex and nochem work closely together at least for pushing msm processors and device ports for win ce so that may have a lot to do at least with cmonex
most of the other members are doing cooperative projects on xda developers and making roms for other devices or helping the community in things like
manila porting, theme creation etc etc etc
okay sure they didnt make a unified rom for cdma big friggin deal...considering how much they did give to the community and chances are with most other devices to come, they'll still give us something or contribute to a project that helps us on a whole instead

and above the fact this thread is and has been locked twice before why does this keep coming up???

also I donated to them and I'm not complaining in the very least

PLEASE!!! They solicited donations for ROM... NOT AN UNLOCKER. I probably would have donated to an unlocker project but that was not the promise.

And also understand that the complaints didn't start flying around here until it had been close to THREE MONTHS since the promised ROM. I think they got plenty of patience from us.

There's no ROM in that thread, simply the unlocker. All who donated are more than aware of the existence of the unlocker.

I've searched numerous times, and also subscribed to threads on this topic.

that too isn't completely true
in each post they gave they had a donation link - not just for a project rom but donating to the raphael elite project
and their project was the unlocker so I assume they wanted people to donate for both projects and not just one.

I don't have anything to do with this story since I came here A.T. (After Theft)... But for me the point is not that they keep helping or that they helped a lot... For me the point is that they specifically asked for money for something specific before it was made and that it was never delivered.

That's wrong.
