I tried Juicy8, guess I didn't like it, or I would still have it installed. Well, keep up the good work, maybe you can get it fixed. I don't do a lot of adding on my TP, I normally put it in Oulook and sync it over. Just adding the ring tone is a pain. (Maybe an easier way to add ringtones to contacts would be a solution to me.) I am also having a problem syning my calendar from outlook to the phone, do you have any idea's?

Did you get my PM Deck?
Sorry, just noticed that you must have given your last post. Have you had time to see if extendir is really capable of the speed increases that it's claiming? The extendir driver was supposed to boost the speed of the overall system up to 12x. When I sent you that PM about it, I hadn't read all the details on how to impliment it. My curiousity is if there will be any end-user setup required, or if just cooking it in the ROM just makes the majic happen. Last edited by veedubguru; 06-29-2009 at 12:26 PM. |

Re: *SsS-ROMv0121*
I figured it was time for me to stop being a wallflower and jump in to the discussions...Until Saturday, the only modifications I had made to my Sprint Touch Pro were registry tweaks and a radio flash to Telus (which helped significantly here in Fort Collins, CO). Over a 36-hour period I went through a handful of mostly 6.5 ROMs, using each one until something either failed or didn't work the way I needed it to, then flashing something else. I must have tried half a dozen before I got to deck's SSS and finally felt I was back on solid ground. Deck - you've done some great work here. Consider me along for the ride. Cheers!
I have had some minor issues, mostly ones with workarounds that have been reported already, and I thought I should toss in my 2cents -- - I also could not locate Clear Storage in 121 standard, added from CAB - the ## codes fail in 121 (due to dialer?), used BAM to get to EPST - the one hour discrepancy with appointments triggered by multiple weather locations/clocks, correctable by reassigning correct zone in world clocks then leaving it alone - the top 'row' of programs (preassigned to HOME/PEOPLE/ETC) seem to pass variables to the replacement applications put in those slots, causing some to fail, but most don't care (example: put opera in top right slot then launch, it tries and fails to load a page from localhost, but lower slots work fine, google maps however likes any slot, perhaps ignoring extra p***** variables) - Got stuck on 'add push page' (with no boomkars set) with no choices and unable to navigate away, had to soft reset, but 'add push page' works fine once I had bookmarks in opera. (I also prefer 9.5 and switched back to that) I think I had noticed a couple other tidbits, but my notes from the past day are pretty shoddy -- if I come across anything else again I will bring it here to the table. Again, many thanks Deck, for bringing such a stable 6.5 and all its finger-friendly-menu-goodness into my world. Your ROM is very impressive, and very satisfying -- keep up the good work! Also, thanks to everyone for all the excellent feedback, suggestions, and software links -- this community really does rock... *crawls back into hermit's hole* |

I discovered a little problem in adding a photo to contacts. When I did this on other ROMs the software seemed to automatically crop and adjust the picture for the size. So when I add it, I have to move the picture to the right area to accomplish this. It doesn't crop it or anything, but I have to guess about where to move the picture to make it work. Can you fix this? Or will this be another problem to live with? As you can see by the pics on the side one of the prior ROMs automatically adjusted the picture to fit in the square.

AHA! Oditius' post reminded me of my other issue -- with photos!
The way portrait/landscape is handled in this updated TouchFLO/Album seems quite different, and I am happy to adjust to the changes, but I am not sure it is all intended. First the easy stuff -- when displaying a picture full screen it forces the picture into a best fit -- in other words you cannot view a portrait right-side up in landscape mode or a landscape right-side up in portrait mode (not that you would normally want to, the current implementation is visually more appropriate) -- it also won't rotate the picture based on the gsensor even though it does rotate the interface based on sensor data. Is this just the intended behavior in the newest version of this application? Moving on...when I take a 'tall' picture, portrait, it previews fine...but when I take a 'wide' picture, landscape, it previews without having been rotated -- the preview is on its side. Landscape photos taken on the camera from the stock ROM are still previewed correctly alongside the new ones which aren't. Using advanced config I enabled the option for automatically 'encode photos in portrait mode' -- but that causes the camera to temporarily lock up the application (for minutes) when it tries to actually save the file -- and the when it eventually kicks back in the picture is not saved -- so I have to leave 'encode pictures in portrait mode' disabled and don't yet know if that setting (if it worked) would solve my above issue. Eh, it's hardly even an issue. I just thought I should toss it out there... |
