also sorry to bother you again deck but i am having trouble getting arcsoft mms for sprint to work on your rom. is there a reason why you cooked sprints default pm into the rom rather than arcsoft?

Deck have been running sprint versin 016u since it came out and my battery life has been great

That IS what is in the rom. those are pics of the compact qwerty from the ROM, not the phone dialpad. You can see for yourself, it is in the touch input settings.

EDIT: i stand corrected. I guess i screwed something up in the latest builds, sorry for any confusion. The option used to be there. i am investigating. Those screenshots were from the ROM. I will post an update shortly.

tbh, i have been using sprints PM myself, i have never messed with arcsoft for sprint. what are the pros and cons of it? Does arcsoft work better then sprints PM? how does it fit in with reg sms?

I find arcsoft to be a lot better! Sprints pic mail seemed to be really slow for me. When I use arcsoft, it's a lot faster...the person gets the pic within 2 to 3 minutes.

X2 the benefits are that Arcsoft is alot faster than Sprint Picture mail because it don't use sprint data base and get slowed down by what sprint has going on

ok well maybe it's called something different in ezinput 2 but before that layout was called phone keypad. but no problem as far as the confusion noone is perfect we all make mistakes the good thing is this mistake is a factor of convenience rather than stability. lol


well since i am lazy and don't know how to post links. lol you can do a search for sprint arcsoft the most current version i think is the one is 5.0.82.79. in summary it is much better than their stock pm imho. it allows you to send and recieve messages faster and it integrates with threaded sms w/o adding anything in the account pick/email tab. i think you should give it a try or atleast look at it.

quick update. I think you are right, for some reason in my older builds, when i would choose compact qwerty, it would bring me to the dialpad, so i assumed thats what they called compact qwerty in ezinput2.0. As i did some reasearch, i believe i was wrong. When i was fixing the menus for the dim problem, i must of edited out the menu for the option. Thats the only thing i can think of that i changed that could have any impact on that. then again, i could be wrong and just overlooking something. I have removed it in the latest build, so only the full qwerty is there. If users want the compact qwerty and the dialpad back, ill see what i can do in future versions. once again, sorry for any confusion.

cool. idk how much demand is out there to get those other layouts back but thats what drew me in to your rom initially lol. if you could get those back in a future build that would be great. as far as the arcsoft don't know if u have read this info yet but before using and after you install it go to your text message inbox hit menu> pics/video options> servers> sprintmmsc(or whichever shows up) change connect via to data/sprint/evdo. then soft reset. thanks for all your hard work.

When do you expect 17 to be ready? The Sprint PM over Arcsoft is what is holding me back from pulling the trigger... Thanks for all your effort!!!

How does this run with manilla not turned on? I use SPB MS, but I haven't seen any responses to the ROM with TF3D turned off.

Thats a good question, although im pretty sure it would only speed anything up without manila running. I personally have not tested with SPB. Would be interesting for some users to try and report back.

hey deck.. i was reading a little bit of your history in the first post.. i must say i am impressed... can't wait for 17 to be posted. as for the GPS issue posted by toant103 , i am running Sprint version of 16 u and NO GPS issue with Sprint NAV.

EDIT: Also, is this a newer version of opera mobile???... it looks like it may not be for TP resolution (looks smaller then usual).

well what it is is the opera default skin. users are used to the htc skin that comes default on most phones and enlarges the buttons. I am going to revert to a different version of opera again due to the current version seems just as buggy as last and crashes.

Edit: if you do a search, there are cab files that will add the htc skin to opera. Hope this helps.

using sprint, tomtom will see the gps for about 5 seconds, then no gps found

i have never ran tomtom before, so i will have to install and do some investigation. GPS confirmed to work with sprint nav and google maps. I will report back soon. Thanks for your help.

Your profile says you are on a Mogul, if so, this ROM is for a Touch Pro.
If you are on a touch pro, please make sure your device is unlocked before trying to flash a custom rom. information can be found int he 1st post. Hope this helps.

yeh i used it once it did its job. try again later and it just goes scrolls up or down. ide like my volume switch back.

what i did just to let you know is use pim back up to restore contacts and msgs and used the tsowentaskbar3v1.4 icon set with the SDKcerts and installed the black dialer. thats all ive done so far.

I am having some issues with the menu button on the music soft buttons. for some reason the menu won't appear and that's where the random and repeat buttons are. Are there any answers or solutions regarding this problem? Otherwise this is an absolutely refreshing piece of programming good sir, in every way... I love it!

Looks as if you are on an older build, this bug has been addressed and fixed. Although i do advise waiting on the 0117 build, which should be released by the end of tomorrow. Hope this helps.
