I think deck is still planning on tweaking this build (beta5) in order to enable all SIPs and have a completely, properly functioning hw kb.

Modeled After the Sprint Stuffed ROM. I have now enabled all SIP's (Compact QWERTY, DIALPAD, FULL QWERTY) and they are all 100% working. Here is the down side, i had to remap some keys on the hardware keyboard in the meantime untill i can get it all perfect. I made a small gfx demonstarting the changes. They are actually very easy to get used, and the keyboard basically still functions 100%. Here is a picture and an explination...
So, like he said, I think the remapping of the hw kb is just a fix in the meantime, so those who like having compact qwerty and the dialpad will be able to use them, while he continues to work on finding a fix for the hw kb. Don't get me wrong, I totally would love to have the compact qwerty and dialpad SIPs and I appreciate and commend his efforts... but this is my only device right now and I text and email heavily from it. And I just know that the remapped hw kb would slow down my typing speed drastically...

What version are you flashing? If you're flashing anything beyond v0209, you won't need to install these fixes...

Did you flash back to stock before flashing the custom rom? If not, you should flash back to stock, hard reset, then flash the custom rom and then hard reset again. That should fix the lag issues...

I am using the 0300 beta 6.... so what you are saying is that i dont need to use all those fixes? Are your recommending flashing back to stock rom and flashing to the 0300 beta 6? im confused.... Also when i soft reset the phone, i get an all black screen and have to soft reset about 5 times before it will boot.

Nope, you don't need the fixes. And yes, you should flash back to your stock rom and do a hard reset (or clear storage). Then flash back to beta6, then do another hard reset (or clear storage). Then test out the rom, adding any other 3rd party apps one-by-one, in order to make sure they aren't hendering the function of the rom. If you do this, I'm sure it will help with the lag and freezing of your phone.

Sometimes when you install one custom rom on top of another and keep doing it over and over, your phones gets very buggy. It's always best to flash back to stock first. Hope this helps...

So Im diggin on this beta 6 right now. This ROM is just cruising right along. The only issue I have found is when I use the hardware keyboard, it always defaults to T9 and I have to switch it to ABC. Other than that, I like the new icons a lot. Nothing too flashy, but makes it look better! Good work deck.

click FN + Space and go ahead and click it to abc in there.

BTW, these ARE the icons from 2.5/2.6.
I DO NOT add anything that is not 'stock'. I let the user customize his or her appearence.
