Re: [ROM] [May 12] <!--PsykiROM v3--!> Fast Rhodium Manila [21046 WM6.1] [UC]

Psyki,

I have been around a while now, and I have made my own roms (for the 6700 and 6800) and used some of the old pro's roms found here. You have pretty much come from nowhere to be one of the premiere rom makers.

So, here is my request. I am a 6.5 guy now. I am using a very very good StarRom 1.7. But I would LOVE to see what a Psyki 6.5 rom would look like. Take the challenge...Go 6.5 PsykiRom! Your audience awaits.

I personally think 6.1 is still the best, most robust, and fastest OS to use right now and just came off starrom, then Silence6.5.
I'll prob go back for fun, but for now I'm liking this rom

Did you install one of the clocks I included? Which clock exactly? Or was it a clock you downloaded somewhere else? And did you install anything else at all that may modify manila? Like a worldclock disable fix, literally ANYthing that may modify manila even things you might think would have no impact?

Install the attached cab, it should make that white box go away.

I also like the soft keybord for txt msg, it has really saved me time with less corrections needed to be made. The fonts used are also great for me, make the experience seem more crisp.......

Keep up the good work!
When I release the 6.5 ROM I'm definitely going to try and use the older version of IE and incorporate Viigo into the ROM, thanks!

Also I'm unsure if it's because of the TouchFlo menus, but when trying to select options in QuickGPS it will supply the error: "An unsupported operation was attempted"
I'm not sure when or why that bug was introduced, I haven't modified anything with the camera and the settings are correct to enable touch focus, I've been looking into it in between working on other things, I'll let you guys know when I come up with a fix.

Hmmm, I've never encountered this as I guess I've never tried to delete a whole threaded conversation, that could be the default behavior and nothing to do with the ROM. Frankly I use the Rhodium messaging less and less and stick to the standard messaging interface. Let me know if you come up with a fix.

Thanks dude! I just took my time and tried to get as much right as possible with v1 instead of releasing a ton of half-baked roms while learning. v2 was kind of a pain because I hurried it along and screwed some things up but v3 was a major success for me. I've only booted up 6.5 a few times so it might make some time to get it to work just the way I want but it will be worth it I think

This rom is by far the sweetest rom in terms of speed, functionality, and looks. Lot of nice customizations added by default that the use can pick and chose from. The battery life of your rom kinda sux though, I've been trying all the versions as they come out and it still eats battery like crazy.

The best battery expierence I have had is with Juicy 5 using the nue cpu throttler.

Try uninstalling S2U2 in 'Remove Programs', and using the nue dynamic clock throttler, it shouldn't be much different than Juicy's. With normal usage I can usually get 12-14 hours which is easily enough to go to work and get home...

Re: [ROM] [May 12] <!--PsykiROM v3--!> Fast Rhodium Manila [21046 WM6.1] [UC]

I've had a blast finding all the little nuances in this sweet little Rhodium package! I have a plethora of bluetooth devices and wanted to share a bit of my experience thus far in case the information would be useful to anyone else on the form:

1) My motorola S9-HD bluetooth stereo headsets paired without a hiccup. Sound quality is the same as a Stock TP. I did play around and installed the Badboy Full Volume Fix but did not notice any increase in volume.

2) My motorola Eq5 portable bluetooth speaker also paired with ease. Sound is great- no problems there

3) I have a clarion FB275 which is a pretty nice Bluetooth capable head unit that I picked up a few months back at Crutchfield for a sick closeout deal. The Psyki rom has no problem with the A2DP streaming- I must say that the Music player built into the TouchFlo2 interface is much faster and efficient when navigating the library(8gb micro sd class 6). This would be reason enough for me to have made the switch to some kitchenware.

I did install the nueRom processor clocking application and set it to some speeds that were posted somewhere on the forms:
System Idle: 256
On Backlight Off: 81.92
On Suspend: 19.20
To make a long story short- when i was streaming a2dp to my headunit and the backlight would turn off the stream would break up and become un-listenable. I had forgotten i had changed the clock settings- and once i went back to the regular default settings it worked fine. I am gonna play around a bit more with these settings because I would love to save some battery but not at the expense of having to change the settings on the NueRom everytime I connect for streaming bluetooth audio

4) I have a stowaway bluetooth keyboard that paired fine and is fully functional- quite a nice device to have around when its time for some real word processing-

Well, hope this post will be usefull for anyone with lots of Bluetooth devices and might be hesitant to make the jump to Psyki's rom. The more time I spend with this Rom the more I am convinced- I could never go back to a crippled Sprint branded OS again! Cheers...
