Re: [April 30] <!--PsykiROM v2--!> Fast Rhodium Manila [21043 WM6.1] [UC]

After some testing I do not see the recipient selection problem some of you have reported. If I start entering a contact a list appears of all matches. I can then tap on one or arrow down to one and hit enter. If I hit enter right away without selecting a contact then it opens up the contact app and you can select a recipient. I don't recall hitting enter right away ever automatically selecting anything. That whole problem could be a SIP issue...

As for selecting text in an email, I have seen that in some other roms so I'm not *too* concerned about that...

I'll make a video of the process. Give me a minute and I'll have it up. Flashing back to Psyki v2 right now.

I have attached a zip file containing two video files, one demonstrating the text message problem and the other showing that the only way to get text messages to work is to physically tap the contact on the drop down menu.

Please note that this is a fresh flash, that was hard reset immediately after flashing. I then created one contact "Fake Person" with a bogus number (555.867.5309) and the problem still occurs. The problem definitely lies somewhere within the ROM release, as no external programs were installed at all during this process.

I have verified with Mighty's 4R3BORN release, which does not suffer from this problem. I realize 4R3BORN uses TF3D, while Psyki uses TF3D2, but I just wanted to show that this is not an intrinsic problem of my phone. It only occurs on Psyki's ROMs.

broken_txt
I create a new message and using the provided FingerKeyboard to type in "fa" and note how the person's information shows up in two places: in the drop-down menu and in the middle of the screen (directly above FingerKeyboard, the same location of T9 suggestions).

At 0:08, you can see that I hit ENTER on the keyboard and it appears the person's information has been completed, even though there is a box covering the majority of their phone number.

At 0:10, I go to the body of the message. Please note that the only way to navigate to the body of the message is to phsyically click on the location, if I were using the hardware keyboard, the arrow keys would be rendered useless at this point.

I type in "Test message" and hit send and it looks like everything worked. However when you go into All Messages, you see that the message really went to the phone number 2 and I get the error, "Your text message cannot be sent."

working_txt
Same process as broken_txt, except when I type in "fa" I click on their information from the drop-down box (as opposed to hitting enter), you see that their information is properly entered in the TO: field. I then go to the body of the text (note :: If I were using the hardware keyboard, the arrow keys would allow me to navigate through the phone # and the down arrow would allow me to go to the body of the text message).

I type in "Test message." again, hit SEND, go back to All Messages and as you can see at 0:20, the second message went through to Person, Fake.

I hope this helps in diagnosing the problem, Psyki. I realize this isn't some huge critical error, but it's terribly annoying and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found another minor issue i am seeing.. When i open oprea browser and go back to tf3d and try to go to the task manager.. there is no icon for it i have to go through the programs and open it up myself if i want to end tasks..

I am not trying to be a pest, just want you to know these issues i am having so you or others can see if its me or the rom. then if its the rom u can have it fixed up for next release.

once again very nice rom and we appreciate it and the time u spent on it hopefully next one makes it all worth while

Yup that's the one, I keep meaning to update the changelog but get sidetracked with working on these fixes, heh.
