Yep, turning weather panel off keeps data transfer normal in 6.5 also.

for some reason i open the weather panel->options->settings and only have an option to auto update and one to change from fahrenheit to celsius.is there somewhere else i should look?the first day the battery lasted all day and i loved the rom and spb mobile shell,but today and yesterday the battery is draining like 10% every few minutes even when i dont touch it.and it is super hot

From today screen, tap bottom right button and tap "show today." under the clock you will see the weather displayed and see a blue and yellow "sun" on the left--tap that, this will bring up the weather panel. From there tap connection, then uncheck auto update and new version

Thanks for the battery fix. I was scratching my head on this one... occasionally my battery would go from 100% to 10% (automatic shutdown) in like 45 minutes... and boy did it make the TP hot.

Has your work schedule eased up any? Love your ROM. Just wondering if an update was planned any time soon?

Apparently WeatherPanel is dead, as in no more. That is what caused the rom (app) to constantly search for a server, making the phone get hot and drain the battery like the ****ens...

And my work schedule? Still hectic, I'll see about an update. But because it's summertime, I usually shut off my internet and cable since I'm rarely at home. I may turn it back on, but in the meantime...Anyone tried to upload a rom tethering? I'll see how bored I get...

apparently weather.com is where the WeatherPanel always gets the info from, and from now on weather.com requires the password/key to get that info, thats what causes WP to keep trying to download info and failing over and over and over again causing overheating and mad battery drain.
Any hope you resurect your 6.5 shell3 rom with the new 23xxx builds?

De-activate the weatherpanel plugin, then replace the file in \program files\marsware\weather panel directory.

though !!! i should have read the thread earlier

I was having massive battery drain and thought i installed a program that keep turning the internet on my phone on causing the drain. i couldn't figure it out but now i know... I even went as far as to reflash my rom....
