I whipped up the tahoma and segoe CABs just in case people freaked out, heh.

I just really have to say this rom is a pleasure to work with. The fonts as well as some necessities for some are cabbed up! (using SEGUI just fyi) and also have the T-Mobile theme rockin...this is a great rom man.

A question though, The sliding sounds....i can't get the program to "look" for my wavs? It will not find them on my phone...hmm. Anyone else getting this?

1) Install the attached CAB. This will extract some files to Start->Programs->Utilities->SSMaHo 0.0.4.0, one file to the system root, and a shortcut to Windows\Startup
2) Go to Utilities\SSMaHo 0.0.4.0 and run SSMaHoGUI.exe
3) Select 1) Install new HookerDll
4) Tap the 'Close' left soft-key
5) Soft-reset, and the clock button should map to g-alarm!

If this doesn't work for you then you'll have to do it the hard way by following all the steps, again this is just barely tested!

Yes, I am a noobie. I've had my phone now for 3 weeks. I downloaded this ROM earlier today and so far, so good! I applied dci_battery.cab and the Sprint MMS cab. I've been playing around with SASHIMI .... because (as you know) once you start flashing your ROM ....

I've tried Merdin's, Star, and Phantom .... this one is pretty good. I was wondering why you didn't include the new Start menu format? I was also wondering if you could put links to the other cabs on the first screen. I read thru all 17 pages of this thread before downloading the ROM, then tried to find the entry for the Sprint MMS cab.

Great job! :headbang:

First of all, this ROM is BLAZING FAST!!!!

I thought the title was BS when i first read it, but WOW is all i can say now. The title to this thread is an understatement!

Ok, got that out of the way. Now on to my problem. Its not that important because SPB Mobile Shell 3 is floating around and i'm itchin to try it out...BUT, this is what my home screen looks like:

http://img93.imageshack.us/img93/2402/newrom.png

I can slide the clock up, click the clock and it works normally. The slider is busted though. The soft keys also work normally. What happened?

I get at least two more bars at my office, too. Loving how smooth and fast this ROM is! I am not sure I am actually getting better reception, but it seems to be good call quality, no matter what the bars say, even when it appears I am in a low signal area. Thanks for such a great ROM the first time out!

I had the same "That bad - where the hell is my DLL" message.. To resolve it, you should just need to do the following steps:

1. Go to Start\Programs\Utilities\SSMaHo 0.0.4.0\SSMaHoGUI.exe
2. Select 1) Install new HookerDll button.
3. Tap the 'Close' left soft-key
4. Soft-reset, and the clock button should map to g-alarm

I haven't had the SMS problem with with this ROM at all.

It's totally addicting, isnt it? I tried to use Sashimi but found it too needlessly complex. I just use RapiConfig to pull provisioning .xml files and a simple .sdconfig to restore everything. I really hope Psyki cooks the the dci_battery.cab in the next release.

Something that is in this ROM, which i really like, is Quick Menu... Start->Programs->Utilities->QuickMenu. Once you install it you have total control over the start menu, including hirearchical drop-down menus.

:)

G-alarm is an alarm program, you can't adjust the system time there.

To change your system time go there: Start\Settings\System\Clocks & Alarms

Good luck!

I was having this problem too.. Turns out I had some old Showaco manila fix .cabs running from my .sdconfig file which was breaking Manila 2. If you're running an UC script, I'd look in there for that and try re-flashing without those .cabs

If you're not using an .sdconfig, maybe Psyki has an idea.

Yeah I believe the landscape issues have to do with Showaco's AllTabBg stuff, but that is what helped stabilize the programs tab. I will ask him and see if he has any ideas.

The startup animation is in the key HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation StartUpGif key. I don't have the HTC animation but there is an animation in the \windows folder called apple_squish.gif you might find amusing ;)

Two requests.
1. Can you make Opera scrolling smooth (like in other ROMs Juicy/Mighty/Silence)
2. Improve the battery life.

1) Opera scrolls like butter for me, I was just looking through this thread when I was away from the computer and I can't imagine it scrolling any better. I also use Iris browser mainly, you might check it out.

2) Yes for sure, I have some ideas but may impact performance (but not stability). Probably not an easy fix but will come up in a later ROM.

Better yet, check out a program called vTap. It is a tiny app which is essentially a search engine for videos, it hits youtube (and others) and streams any video with no problems, even allowing you to save videos! It also acts as a really slick interface to Wikipedia. I would definitely have rolled it into the ROM as I use it all the time but I was having problems turning it into an OEM. Seriously, check it out.

Thanks! I figured the CABs would be a nice touch, stuff you can get elsewhere but why not roll it all up? ;) Plus making the CABs is a piece of cake. I have seen some registry keys regarding the sliding keyboard sounds but can't remember where at the moment... I'll keep my eyes open.

Happy to make your first ROM upgrade a good experience!

Ahh yeah, SSMaHoGUI is a fickle program, unfortunately I don't really know enough about it to fully troubleshoot that for you. I found that if I get that error you mentioned you have to click step 1 first, "Install new HookerDll".

Dunno about SprintTV, I have never used it. I'll install and take a look. Check out vTap if you're looking for streaming videos :)

Haven't had any problems with SMS, although that is a very strange and unique error. Are you using the new rhodium SMS features? Or is this in the old regular SMS inbox? For the record I only installed "CDMA Fix 1" because it worked fine for me, but I included "CDMA Fix 2" in Programs->Utilities->Manila Tools. You might install that and see if it helps.

There is a way to remap the RSK to open the All Contacts page I had working at one time but I seem to have lost the mappings... The keys are in HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila, try searching this board for the correct keys.

I experimented with the new Start Menu but could not get it to work consistently and without problems. Then of course the MAIN problem is that on the settings tab, sometimes the "All Settings" soft key sometimes breaks which means with the new Manila start menu you cannot ever get to your settings. Big deal breaker for me!

Also quite frustrating is I could not get any MMS OEMs to work reliably at all! I have seen and tried most of the MMS CABs floating around but even between my roommate and I we cannot get them to work consistently. Most of the time it appears to send fine but then we never get the message.

Can someone pretty please confirm a KNOWN working Sprint MMS CAB on their phone? :)

Make sure you are not installing mUn all background or whatever it is called. A buddy of mine had this EXACT same problem and the issue was his sdconfig.txt file was autoloading the Manila 1 allbackground CAB. If a hard-reset is out of the question you might try reinstalling the Showaco All Backgrounds cab, or the All Programs cab.
