For a while there I was doing it a couple 4-5 times a day...at least.

Actually, I just finished flashing back to Psyki's ROM LOL

It won't hurt to flash the ROM and see what Psyki's ROM is all about....."actions speak louder then words"

Trust me on this....you will love it :)

It seems you do it during important events during the day ( Breakfast, quick snack, lunch, brunch, dinner) :)

Pretty much. If I see a new ROM or release, i'll check it out. I usually keep one that is my "this is the one to run" like Psyki's, but just this weekend alone I've flashed probably every one's new release...twice on some.. :)

I know very little about flashing or ROMs but am becoming more curious about all this stuff. I just got the Sprint HTC Touch Pro and the battery drains like crazy. I have read several threads and most of you seem to change/flash ROMs just as fast as my battery drains. I bricked my last phone, a Samsung i760, just by trying to update to Windows 6.1!

1. Are there any hazards to flashing my new phone?
2. If I screw up can I return to the factory version?
3. Does flashing remove all my data?
4. If so, when do you folks that flash all day long ever use your phone?

Again, I just spent $300 on this phone so pardon my ignorance and hesitation, but I really would like a solution, even slight, to the major battery drain - and it seems a new ROM is the answer other than a backpack sized battery. In my opinion, the battery drain is the only bad aspect of this phone.

1. Yes, there are hazards. But I think it's if you do it WRONG. I think if you follow the directions then you're safe. If you don't, you can "brick" your phone, (i.e. kill it). First you have to unlock it before you can flash a custom rom. See HERE :
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503
Use SPL 0.37. If you follow directions, this is very easy stuff.

2. you can usually flash back to a stock rom if you can find one on here. Here is the thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42741

3. Yes, so if there is anything you want to keep make a backup of it using PIM backup or SPRITE BACKUP or SPB BACKUP or RESCO BACKUP or via SkTOOLS, or whatever other means you find to backup your data. It does not erase your memory card, just all the data on your device.

4... WHAT? If you don't have time to do it.. don't do it. Simple as that.

Re: PsykiROM v1.0 - Rhodium Manila VERY FAST! - [21042] [TP2] [UC]

But on a serious note it really takes about 10 minutes to "flash" and get the ROM running. Call it another 30-45 minutes getting it set up to the way you like it. I change my sliders and taskbar and all that good stuff to what I like and then your set until you want to change it again. So...about an hour of your time to really get the phone "right" if it's a relatively bug free ROM. But sometimes it's fun chasing down and trying to fix the problems.

And really, after you've flashed a couple times, you start getting faster at it.

this is by far my favorite rom that i've tried...i love the choice of colors and font also! is anyone else having problems with the tf3d2 text message reply? my on-screen keyboard pops up over the input text box and you can't access it after that.

edit: ok i'm an idiot, i installed the cdma fix and it worked. but now here is the big question...does anyone here know how to install the corner clock, transparent icons & slider with invisible curtains?

HUGE page pool, LOL! Along with some predefined filesystem and glyph cache tweaks. Alot of ROMs leave these out and we have to manually edit them, but this kid did it the right way.

Btw. I got this running on my verizon TP, running schweet... at least until I rtunr my VZW TP and get a sprint TP with the extra 96 MB ram.

Here's a no curtains cab and clear slider. Remove .CAB from the 1e29e8e7_manila and copy it into your windows folder and soft reset.

Go start/programs/utilities/manila tools and run those cabs. The CDMA fix is in there.

Thanks!

So does this mean that in general any TF3D mods should work with this version of Manila, this Rhodium Manila, or is that not the case? I want to look into TF3D tweaks and mods and was hoping I can use what I find on Rhodium also.. but wasn't sure how different it is from the original TF3D...?

From what i've found, for the most part they will work. But, I try to keep the stuff to a minimum anyways. But my screen looks nothing like his. I've changed my slider, icons and taskbar; among other things.

Is anyone elses clock time an hour back? I edited the time setting to be correct but it reverses the setting when I turn my phone off/on

Re: PsykiROM v1.0 - Rhodium Manila VERY FAST! - [21042] [TP2] [UC]

I use Outlook email heavily on a daily basis (syncs to MS Exchange server, etc) in a corporate environment and I keep a month of emails synced up. With the stock ROM and Mighty 4.x ROM I didn't seem to notice any lag or speed when navigating the list, deleting emails, etc. But with this ROM I do notice a bit of lag when deleting emails and the list refreshing, etc. Is there a setting buried somewhere that might be able to help speed it up?

Again, I can live with it just fine - I love the PsykiROM and favor this over stock, Mighty, and Juicy. I am not impressed with WM 6.5 yet and it's start page; the unread email count was inaccurate and I couldn't live with it, so away it went.

Thanks PsykiROM...

Make sure you have the disable world clock cab installed and then go change it from the settings, not touching the clock time and see if that helps.

I don't have that issue and i've got a months worth of Emails sync'd on my phone as well. Try doing a Clear Temp, then a soft reset. I've also found that if you have it pull the attachments (instead of the text only) it is a little slower.

Make sure you have the G-alarm.cab installed (1st post) and the disable world clock.cab installed then go to setings-system and alarms/clock and set the corret time zone and time.

See if that works.

Just in case...

EDIT: Heres the link to the fix http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en I think it may be the same .cab a couple of posts above.

Probably not... When I switched to the 21043 Topaz SYS there is a very minor yet infuriating problem with the SIP that causes it to insert an extra keypress when you try to hide it. It's annoying as all shiznit if you use the SIP frequently (which I don't but still). That's pretty much the one main thing holding up this release, heh. Merdin is pretty sure it has nothing to do with his 21043 but I'm still tracking things down...

I must say i've tried Mikes, Juicy's, Fay's and a few other ROM and this one is the best i've used so far. Mike's is good but lacks features and Juicy's is my 2nd fav but didnt have a programs tab...plus it was green and this blue theme outta the box kills it. Also this ROM is way faster then anyone's in response time.

Thanks!!

I encountered that same keyboard problem when I used Nuerom... but I attributed it to doing a restore on it from another rom using spritebackup. it was indeed INFURIATING! Maybe do a scan with sktools for invalid registry values and keys?
