Re: I'm still nervous about flashing. Help me please?

I'm also new to this. I've looked through the how to flash guides but I am still a little confused. If I flash my phone, and then put on juicy's rom for example, will all of my programs that I have downloaded be deleted? What about my contacts and messages? If I try to reload a backup from the stock, will it reload on a new rom?

Any help is appreciated.

Anything saved on the device will be lost. Storage card will be safe. Easiest thing to use for the backup at least that ive found is PIM backup. Sprite backup is good but if you go from 6.1 to 6.5 ROMS and back ive noticed a few minor quirks. But PIM Backup should carry over regardless. I use both and have not ever had a huge issue. PIM backup will take care of your contacts, calander, tasks, text, stuff like that. programs will need to be reinstalled. Sprite backup will make a image of your device. so you wouldnt have to reinstall anything. it would do it for you.

Seriously -- I have been where you are..and all it takes is for you to read as everyone else has recommended and as long as you know the basics, you really can't go wrong !
I'm fairly certain I've got the basics down. I'm just wondering if there's anything I need to do as far as carrier specifics. Like Alltel, so i can get my data connections and most importantly, my phone calls. This thing is also my only line to the outside world.

The radio is built in so you should be all set. What I would do just as a safety net is download the stock ROM for your device. SOOO worse case scenario you can flash back

Re: I'm still nervous about flashing. Help me please?

Here is PIM BackUp, which should get you started on backing up your contacts, emails, pictures, etc. I save my back up to my storage card because if you save it to your phone and flash a ROM,, then what you backed up will be lost.

Re: I'm still nervous about flashing. Help me please?

Hey guys I seem to be having some problems flashing. I'm reading the directions and following them word for word. But it doesn't seem to be working. If anyone is on AIM or Yahoo right now and could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. My screen names are in my profile, or over to the right there in my info box thing.
