Re: Verizon Touch Pro Memory fix?

K thanks. themuffinman>> sorry, i wish i could but im stuck with verizon till march 2010. I just wish there was a way to fix it!! I have been trying all the roms on here, and they're awesome. SSK 6.1 roms, no TF3D in landscape, but 6.5 works, but 6.5 portrait>landscape vice versa is slow. 3 second delay. Im flashing it to MightyROM right now with a PP of 20. so i'll see. Does boreds have TF3D? i thought when i looked it was stripped to the bare.

Re: Verizon Touch Pro Memory fix?

Yeah, I know. But it still has 512k of memory or whatever, just the RAM part is partitioned out.

it has 512kb flash memory but that is completly seperate from the 192 ram
there is only 192 ram on the phone they didnt just partition it cause that cant be done and there isnt any more hidden
sorry but verizon messed up on the ram, but other wise this is the best phone ive ever had

I heard that Verizon took 64M and made it dedicated video memory whereas the other Touch Pro's use shared memory. Perhaps that's totally wrong but I read it somewhere.

Re: Verizon Touch Pro Memory fix?

i have a touch pro from vzw as well and i can tell you that the idea of running mighty on my phone with a 20 meg page pool is kinda scary.

when i first got this phone i flashed to scotts rom since i was used to his stuff on my vzw 6800. i liked it but i wanted to try a few others and all of them left me with little ram and i would run into out of memory errors often. scotts was the only one that i have not had this issue with.

all the other roms (with the exception of boreds stripped rom) tend to eat up ram because they are built with the sprint, altell or other touch pro that has all the ram intact.

if you are going to try mighty i would suggest a page pool of 12 max and see how it performs for you but i would strongly suggest scotts setup.

i built my rom using scotts 1.6 rev a kitchen and the 21500 (fake 6.5) sys files with a 6 page pool and i am really happy with it. i did not cook in any of the manila version beacuse i think the 6.5 today is pretty nice even if it is plain.

try it out and let me know how you feel but again scott is the only dev that is building with the vzw limitations in mind.

if you are flashing the mighty rom i def. wouldnt recommend setting your page pool as 20! set it as 10 or 12.

bored's newest rom has the regular touch flo as well as touch flo 2
