Re: ~{4/2/09}~ lllboredlll's 21042.1.9.4.B TP2 Kitchen & ROMs

Is there a tutorial anywhere for building ROMS? I think i got the OEM's Made (I used OEMizer). But I have no clue what is next.

Is there a tutorial for building your TP2 ROMS that I can study?

i would suggest you start by importing your oem's into bored's kitchen just to get the hang of it buildos and cooking your own rom.

I have been doing that, and I think i got that part down. The problem comes after i run BuildOS. I have no clue what to do next. (This is soooooo different from building websites!!) lol

IMHO the best thing to do is look at the .bat file in bored's kitchen and look at what's going on under the hood. Without his kitchen I would be lost in a sea of difficult to decipher terminology and meaningless programs and scripts. Now I can pretty confidently use different SYS and ROMs to customize a kitchen and port XIPs to different builds. It just takes time to digest all the information, there's really no shortcuts to it.

If your not talking about this:http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...52&postcount=1
Then I think your going to have to wait for WM 6.5 for both to be transparent.

Re: ~{4/2/09}~ lllboredlll's 21042.1.9.4.B TP2 Kitchen & ROMs

Hi all - I was hoping to do some mixing of the SSK 1.6 Kitchen with Bored's Kitchen. specifically I'd like to see about getting the R4R theme on a cooked bored ROM for my first attempt.

Do i just copy the manilla files from Scott's package over and replace in bored's and cook? Or is it more complicated than that? I'm going to try this today, and may want to do more if this works, but thought I'd solicit the community who have done this first so I can hopefully skip over some n00b mistakes!!!

Thanks, and I hope all is well,
Cory

Take scotts R4R theme, and copy over to Bored's kitchen... you don't need to replace anything... once you copy it over and run Build OS it will detect your R4R folder. You wont need to choose the Manila Engine IF manila.exe is included in the R4R folder... I think bored separates them and scott does not...

Pretty simple...
