so, i've been using this rom kitchen for about a week now. several times, when i've restarted my phone (with the cooked in psShutXP) upon starting back up, i've found that the phone will hard reset itself! completely wiping my changes giving me a default rom setup. has anyone else come across this problem?

been running this rom for a while now and have not had that issue. i would say recook your rom and see if it still does it.

on a side note, i have had some lock up issues that were remedied by a soft rest.

That worked for disabling the bottom search!

ok the problem was that t9 was enable thru windows.... i was doing some research on your problem last night and came across an occurance that was similar and the fix was to disable it thru windows

What is this bottom search? The names popping up on the bottom and top while typing a name in SMS? If that's the case, whenever I choose the bottom one, it gets sent to '1' instead of the actual person, so I just use the top one now. I tried disabling t9 but maybe I'm in the wrong area. Guess I'll try that cab.

EDIT: Yep, that did it.

That is the same problem we are talking about. Basically you are getting a double search, you either have to add a contact manually or you have to use the top contact search (drops down right below where you start typing) That disable x9 or t9 removed the bottom search.
